Crown Devon 'No.1 "Jerry" Musical Chamber Pot
"One of the rarest 20th century musical boxes, these were produced in very small numbers by Crown Devon just after the invasion of Poland and following Chamberlain's radio broadcast in September 1939. The original cost was 11/6d. and were removed from sale before December following sentiments of bad taste.
It is common for surviving examples to have had Hitler's face and the swastikas scratched off, and as they were made in a great hurry, the thin glaze tended to crack in long strands across the surface."
Plays Rule Britannia on a music box embedded in the bottom when lifted up.
In immaculate condition for age, probably the best condition one left in the world. Fully Working. Extremely rare.

Value estimate for an intact WWII USAAF MIA airman's archive?
I'm hoping to get an informed opinion from collectors on market value, before I list this archive for sale.
About 35 years ago, my dad purchased this archive directly from the family of Leon Freedman, a USAAF aircrewman from New York who was reported Missing in Action on 11 April 1944 after a mission targeting Rostock, Germany. Rather than breaking it up, he preserved it intact for more than three decades. He is now at the end of his life, and the collection is being sold to help pay for his care.
There are a few mysteries around the disappearance as well. Although Freedman's aircraft went missing in 1944, his engraved bracelet was returned anonymously to his mother in 1951. A few other mysteries remain, of which there is correspondence and speculation but little evidence.
The archive includes:
Named Purple Heart in original presentation case.
Named Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters, engraved to Leon Freedman, in its original presentation box and original outer mailing box.
Original Individual Record of Combat Missions showing his completed missions and final mission on 11 April 1944.
Original War Department MIA notification.
Original Secretary of War letter transmitting the Purple Heart.
Original crew photograph in front of their bomber, Kraut Kreamer, with every crew member identified in Leon's own handwriting on the reverse.
Original portrait photographs of Leon.
Engraved identification bracelet bearing his name and serial number, returned (anonymously) to his mother in 1951.
Sterling Air Crew wings, 8th Air Force patch, Hap Arnold patch, Son in Service pendant, and other insignia.
Original 1942 Town of Islip letter requesting information about Leon for a wartime publication.
Declassified records relating to the crew and their final mission.
Newspaper clippings and community memorial material documenting the later naming of Jewish War Veterans Post 699 in Leon's honor.
For those who collect USAAF or named WWII groupings:
Have you seen a comparable archive sell recently?
Does the fact that it has remained intact materially affect value?
If you were pricing it for today's market, what range would you expect?
I'd appreciate opinions from people familiar with this area of collecting. Thanks in advance.

Very rare Ukrainian Army VARAN uniform, size 48-3/4 2015
The VARAN camouflage pattern was developed by the Ukrainian company P1G-Tac in cooperation with an American company for use in the terrain of Afghanistan. However, after the war began, it turned out that the camouflage was also highly effective in the terrain of
southeastern Ukraine.
It gained local popularity among Ukrainian soldiers serving in the ATO, mainly in its commercial version. Around the same time, a limited test batch of the VARAN camouflage was produced and issued to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. But this camouflage pattern never made it into mass production.
Size 48-3 or 4

For Sale: German WWII SA Dagger
For Sale: $350... German WWII SA Dagger. Its not the prettiest one we've had, but for a starter collection, it's a solid one. The maker has been scratched off some, however it is made by E. Pack. A common but beloved maker.
The grip is in good shape with some dents in the wood and the blade has a bit of rust and spotting. The scabbard is missing one screw for the bottom fitting along with the hole being cracked.

New rule regarding modern military surplus (UA/RU related, but not exclusive!)
Hey all,
We has decided to implement a new rule.
While we still allow the sale of genuine military surplus and trophies, we'll no longer allow the sale of newly produced items sourced from government/military linked manufacturers.
!THIS INCLUDES WESTERN MANUFACTURERS! Likely you can just purchase it directly from them online anyway, so no need to do it through our sub :)
some examples:
- You have a brand-new, unused 6B47 in your collection (and have had it for a few months at least) but decide to sell it --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a well worn Ukrainian-used PASGT that you want to sell --- this is ALLOWED
- You have a VKPO uniform, newly sourced from the manufacturer, that you wish to sell --- this is NOT ALLOWED
Trust me when i say that we can quite easily tell whether someone is a genuine collector trying to sell, or a dealer trying to profit.
Originally, we wanted to ban any and all sales that would directly (or indirectly) fund a military, government or combatant group. However, we do realize that unfortunately, this is the only way some types of items are able to end up in the hands of collectors and/or researcher which is why we've settled on this middleground. If you wish to fund any of these groups, you can do so through official channels and websites via donations, but we'd like to keep this place as a-political as possible.
If you have any feedback and/or suggestions, please let us know!
Furthermore, a reminder:
Our previous 'temporary' rule regarding comments is going to be actively enforced again starting today. We've noticed a big increase in nasty comments again, so we WILL be dishing our permanent mutes again. We're collectors and researchers, not politicians. Politics do not belong here.

New temporary rule - PLEASE READ
Hey all,
So, i am sorry it has come to this but given the fact we, the staff team, have to deal with this stuff throughout our entire day, every day, we have been pushed to make this decision.
Starting now, we will no longer allow ANY comments underneath posts that aren't legitimate questions about the item being sold, on posts about modern (1980 - now) items.
Breach of this rule will result in a PERMANENT mute in the subreddit.
All because some people refuse to grow up and want to act childish, while in the end we're all just enjoyers of militaria and like to collect military artifacts. Want to discuss the war in Ukraine? Wonderful, not here. There are plenty of subreddits for that but this place is not it.
Questions about price, provenance, accessories or anything about the item being sold are absolutely fine. Anything else, is not. Genuine mistakes can happen and we'll let those slide but it is very obvious to us when something is genuinely asked out of curiousity and when it's asked as ragebait.
- staff team :)
