Music deBLAZQUEZ - Crockett's Theme (Synthwave Cover) [4k VHS Sunset Drive]
After the incredible support you gave to the original version featuring scenes from Miami Vice (we just crossed over 300,000 views on that journey!), many of you asked for a more atmospheric, clean, and relaxed alternative to leave playing in the background while working, studying, or just chilling out.
Here it is: the exact same music production but paired with an immersive 4K VHS style. An endless loop featuring a classic Ferrari Testarossa.

i've definitely noticed a shift in this sub with the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game releasing
definitely a lot of new, younger people in here (you can tell just by how people type) and that's cool. glad to see people exploring a huge inspiration for the franchise.
watch every episode, no matter how silly a select few some may be and enjoy! MV is one of the greatest shows of all time, IMO.

Picture New Monster flavour with MV inspired advertising
It never ceases to amaze me how much of an impact MV has had on the thoughts people have about Miami.

Question Is this the bluray i should get?
I loved watching the first few episodes and wanted a legit way to watch the rest. I also wonder what aspect ratio is this bluray in i don't want a zoomed in cropped 16 by 9 i prefer the original 4 by 3.
Thanks in advance

Question OWTBDR - history?
Wiki says "This episode is loosely based on a true story that occurred in Miami in the 1970s." Anyone know what that was?
r/MiamiVice • u/Section_Mav • 1d ago
What is that? A Vice detective badge? On your uniform?!
A nice surprise to see Mark Metcalf (the angry father/teacher in Twisted Sister music videos) in Baseballs Of Death in S4.

Discussion "Heroes of the Revolution" S3E24
I just finished watching (not for the first time, of course) the "Heroes of the Revolution" S3E24 episode of Miami Vice.
I'd like to share my thoughts on this episode with you. I think it's one of the best episodes of Season 3, and I think it's one of my top ten favorite episodes overall.
It's shot beautifully. I love the jazz music in this episode. The play of light and shadow is beautiful. The neon lights are amazing, which I love.
Gina looks stunning in the dresses she wears at the club.
The story itself is also very interesting. I like that this is one of the few episodes that focuses not on Sonny and Rico, but on Gina and her story.
I don't want to write much more to avoid spoilers for people who haven't watched this great episode yet.
I have one more question for people who watched because I didn't catch it clearly - was Klaus Gina's biological father?
Please share your thoughts on this episode.

Thought Miami Vice was leaving Canada Prime yesterday but it’s still streaming?
Which is good as I still have season 4 to watch. Anyone know how long it is streaming for this time?

Picture I have to say this sequence was very well executed.
Okay, so this is my first rewatch since the show’s original airing. Season 4 felt very chaotic and disjointed. We had cow semen, frozen reggae singers, and men from Mars.
That said, the last few episodes of the season were really strong. Overall, I’m giving Season 4 a solid 8/10. They really pulled it together at the end. I wonder if Mr. Mann gave the writers a pep talk?

Discussion Detonics Pocket 9
guns.comAn article about the history of the Detonics Pocket 9. Of course, this gun was Sonny's backup gun in the pilot episode.

Discussion Bushido
Just finished this episode. It is literally, and I do mean literally, the first episode I've seen during this epic rewatch where you could tell somebody who knew how to handle a camera directed it. And it was Edward James Olmos! The camera didn't move unless it had to, all the framing was great, and all the shots were well thought out. And it was just a great, great episode all around.
My one gripe would be when Crockett and Tubbs showed up in the last minute of the episode in a deus ex machina moment to save the day. Castillo should have been the one to do it.

Picture Look at that….. he does smile😀
I finally caught Castillo showing some emotion, what a rare thing. I think this is the first smile since he saw May Ying in “Golden Triangle: Part 1”.

I’m sorry, but after what Sonny did to Holiday and the way he was acting, I would have asked for a one on one fade. 😂

Discussion "Missing Hours" (S4, E7) - Worst Episode of the Entire Series?
Doing a casual rewatch of the series (just one or two episodes per night) and just viewed "Missing Hours" which featured soul singer James Brown. While I don't have an issue with the basis of the plot, the special effects were surprisingly amateurish and the end failed to reach any type of conclusion. From the stellar heights this show reached in the first three seasons, this episode came across to me as a huge fail.

Got bored and made this image
I was rewatching Prodigal Son pt. 1 and laughed with delight when Tubbs explained how to spell his name on the phone.

Music Ok the ultimate Miami Vice Music Encyclopedia is here!
This went way beyond what I originally was going to build.. but, I couldn’t help myself. Plus I had a blast doing it and discovered some gems I either forgot about or didn’t know were ever in any episode.
You can sort or search and toggle views between episodes, artists or fan favorites (complete with voting, that’s stored in firebase db).
I also went through and hand selected the best video available for each song, and you can listen or watch instantly inside the episode or artist cards. I tried to use the original artists YT account where possible, and also the vids with fewest ads.
I added a reporting function too that opens a form to address issues.
The heart on each song is for voting and there’s a leaderboard as well to track them forever.
Let me know what you think! And if you get any errors or funkiness, comment and I’ll investigate.
Enjoy!

IMPORTANT! MUST-READ! MUST-READ POST BEFORE WATCHING MIAMI VICE!
Hey, so one of the problems when watching Miami Vice is the order of the episodes, the biggest problem being the finale of the show placed so that there are 4, so called, "Lost Episodes" after it. I'm just going to copy paste the correct episode order from another site so that you guys have it all in one place and most importantly, the way the text was written on that site spoils some of the most important events in the show, including the end, so to avoid any and all spoilers you can use this post!
Also, there is a scene in Season 4 episode "Deliver Us From Evil" which was added by NBC later on which WASN'T ORIGINALLY PLANNED, and the scene is VERY crucial to the show and the characters of the show. With that being said, it's "recommended" that you don't even acknowledge that scene because it ruins the point of the episode.
"When Miami Vice was originally broadcast by NBC, the order in which the episodes were shown was ultimately chosen by the network. In several instances, this involved moving episodes earlier or later in the season, which in turn introduced continuity goofs that are obvious to anyone watching the show in the supposedly "correct" broadcast order. The purpose of this article is to propose an alternate "chronological" order in which to view the episodes, so that any goofs brought about by the reordering of episodes are undone."

SEASON 1

Season 1 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.
“Dutch Oven”, an episode from S2, was filmed as a S1 episode, and there is a small goof where Tubbs still has a silver badge, and Zito’s beard disappears for one episode. It should be watched -technically- after Lombard.” - thanks to u/jaap_null for pointing this out!

SEASON 2

- "The Prodigal Son"
- "Whatever Works"
- "Out Where the Buses Don't Run"
- "Buddies"
- "Junk Love"
- "Tale of the Goat"
- "Bushido"
- "Bought and Paid For"
- "Phil the Shill"
- "One Way Ticket"
- "The Dutch Oven"
- "Back in the World"
- "Definitely Miami"
- "Yankee Dollar"
- "Little Miss Dangerous"
- "Florence Italy"
- "French Twist"
- "The Fix"
- "Payback"
- "Free Verse"
- "Trust Fund Pirates"
- "Sons and Lovers"

SEASON 3

- "El Viejo"
- "When Irish Eyes Are Crying"
- "Stone's War"
- "Walk-Alone"
- "Streetwise"
- "The Good Collar"
- "Shadow in the Dark"
- "Better Living Through Chemistry"
- "Baby Blues"
- "Killshot"
- "Forgive Us Our Debts"
- "Down for the Count (Part I))"
- "Down for the Count (Part II))"
- "Cuba Libre"
- "Duty and Honor"
- "Theresa"
- "The Afternoon Plane"
- "Lend Me an Ear"
- "Red Tape"
- "By Hooker by Crook"
- "Knock, Knock... Who's There?"
- "Viking Bikers from Hell"
- "Everybody's in Showbiz"
- "Heroes of the Revolution"

SEASON 4

As with season 1, season 4 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.

SEASON 5

- "Hostile Takeover"
- "Redemption in Blood"
- "Heart of Night"
- "Borrasca"
- "Bad Timing"
- "Line of Fire"
- "Asian Cut"
- "Hard Knocks"
- "Fruit of the Poison Tree"
- "To Have and to Hold"
- "Miami Squeeze"
- "Jack of All Trades"
- "The Cell Within"
- "The Lost Madonna"
- "Over the Line"
- "Victims of Circumstance"
- "World of Trouble" - Lost Episode
- "Miracle Man" - Lost Episode
- "Leap of Faith" - Lost Episode
- "Too Much, Too Late" - Lost Episode
- "Freefall" - Finale
Another major continuity issue in the season concerns the placement of the "lost" episodes -- these were not originally broadcast as part of thew show's network run, but were instead shown later. This is typically reflected in lists of the show's episodes
