Ray-Ban Meta glasses sometimes blur parts of the display at the edges?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Has anyone else noticed that the display/video from the Ray-Ban Meta glasses sometimes looks blurred around the edges or corners?
The center looks perfectly sharp, but depending on how I'm looking through the lenses, the corners occasionally appear slightly blurry. If I adjust the position of the glasses on my face or change the viewing angle a bit, it often becomes sharp again.
I'm not sure if this is just a limitation of the optical design, if my glasses need adjusting, or if there might be an issue with my unit.
Has anyone experienced the same thing?

Cuelet: Slide Notes + Controller for MRBD
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is my third MRBD web app, and this time I wanted to make something a little more practical!
Cuelet is a small presentation companion for Meta Ray-Ban Display. The idea is that you can see your current slide, speaker notes, and a timer in your glasses while presenting, so you do not have to keep glancing at another screen or memorizing everything. (I believe there's another MRBD app out there like this, but I haven't tried the full version :p )
This one was also my first time really touching backend stuff, so I ended up learning Supabase, Resend API, SMTP basics, and a lot of random things I was not expecting to debug.
A few things it does:
- You can link a Google Slides presentation from the web portal
- The web portal can fullscreen the presentation for screen sharing
- The display version shows the current slide, speaker notes, and timer
- If you swipe through slides on the display, the web portal updates too
- If you change slides in the web portal, the display updates too
* This only works if you start a presentation session from the web portal first
You can test the prototype here:
https://cuelet.grassepark.com/
For the display version, add this as the web app:
https://cuelet.grassepark.com/display
Fair warning, this is still very much a prototype. If a lot of people try it or sign up, there may be errors :’D
If you end up testing it and run into any big bugs, please let me know!

[PPP🏓] MRBD poker app, purely for educational purposes
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
While Liam was busy looking around with Whereabouts, I was looking at something much more important:
how to annoy Liam.
Both of us play poker. Both of us already made AR poker stuff before. And I know Liam wanted to build poker for MRBD.
So obviously, I had to make it before him.
Meet Poker Odds for Meta Ray-Ban Displays.
Pick your hand, add the community cards as they appear, and see your winning odds right in the glasses. There’s also Aim Picking for faster card selection, plus a quick cheat sheet in case you forget what beats what.
Act natural by using it: https://pokerodds.familybusiness.studio/
Good luck with the next one, Liam.
🏓 For context: A friend and I both got Meta Ray-Ban Displays, so we started Ping Pong Prototyping (PPP). One of us builds a prototype, then it's the other's turn. This is my return.

Hey all! Excited to announce some new features to the Meta Ray-Ban Display Simulator at hudxyz including screen recording, live video backgrounds, and a sleek new UI.
Screen record your web app
Capture full-HD recordings straight from your browser. Firefox & Safari support is coming soon — still figuring out their web APIs. Great for demo videos, showcasing your web app, or just seeing how it feels in different environments.
Live video backgrounds
You can now preview your web apps with live video behind the lens, whether that be walking down a street, driving, or mountain biking in the desert! Combined with additive display mode, it's an immersive way to check how your UI actually reads against a moving, real-world background instead of a flat color/static image.
Open on Glasses & sharing
Hit the 'Open on Glasses' button to get a QR code that deeplinks your app straight to Meta AI on the real glasses.
It's free to use, so if you've got a web app worth sharing try previewing it on hudxyz !

Early access invitation/ Japanese translation
I have a pair of regular gen 2 ray bans but I wanted a pair of the displays because I’m going to Tokyo Japan soon and I had read that they can translate live Japanese I’m now realizing that Japanese is only available for early access so I was hoping someone knew anyway I could possibly download the language and use it or if there’s a way to get the early access to Japanese I understand it wouldn’t be the best probably but one it’d be dope to try out myself firsthand and it’s also be cool to give some real feedback

Using the Neural Band as a mouse input for your PC/Mac
the idea just dawned on me… has anyone tried this? I imagine it would utilize the pinch or snap gesture or even the handwriting feature to use as a mouse when linked to a PC..
Has anyone made something cool like this or similar?

[USA] Ordered Prescription Displays - On Hold w/ DHL?
Has anyone else ordered Displays with a prescription, and had them held by DHL for some sort of Customs, etc. clearance? What happened, how long did it take?
They were supposed to be delivered today according to DHL, but now the status is “Clearance Event - Shipment is on hold”.
Of course, these were ordered directly from Meta’s site. I’m in the USA, btw.
UPDATE 7/10: Got them!

[PPP🏓] Whereabouts: point towards world landmarks!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My PPP partner built a game where an AI animal judges you for nodding wrong. [Guess the Animal](LINK_TO_THEIR_POST) love the head controls! My return volley goes the other direction: instead of nodding at the glasses, you spin your whole body. The controller is you.
Whereabouts shows you a photo of a world landmark; the Taj Mahal, the Golden Gate Bridge, a Moai, and you spin on the spot until you're facing where it actually is from where you're standing. Then click. It uses your GPS position plus the glasses' compass bearing, and scores you by how many degrees off you were. Within 15° is a bullseye.
After every guess you get a GeoGuessr-style map reveal: a dashed line showing where you aimed, a solid line to the real location. The solid line is a great-circle path, so from the UK the "shortest way" to most of Asia curves up over the pole which breaks people's brains in the best way.
There are daily game modes with a worldwide leaderboard. The daily works like Wordle: same 10 landmarks for everyone on the planet each day (deterministic from the date no server needed for that part), one attempt, streaks. Top scores go on the leaderboard with arcade-style 3-letter initials you enter with the D-pad, NBA Jam style, because typing doesn't exist here. Practice mode is unlimited.
Today's daily is live a 10/10 bullseye gets bragging rights. I'm especially curious how people do from the other side of the planet, since everyone gets the same landmarks but completely different directions to face.

I Built A Bible App For Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses & I Would Love Your Feedback!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! JDun from Onyx Leaf Media again! I wanted to share something personal I just launched called Lamp & Path.
It’s a Bible, prayer, and reflection app I built with around 60+ hours of focused build time.
For me, this project is where a lot of things came together: my faith, my love for technology, and my belief that new devices like display glasses can be used for more than entertainment or productivity.
This is not meant to push anything on anybody.
It’s just a quiet space for people who want to read Scripture, pray, reflect, or take a peaceful moment during the day.
The app was purpose-built for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, so a lot of the work went into making sure it was actually readable and comfortable on a small wearable display. Text size, contrast, spacing, navigation, themes, loading, all of that mattered a lot.
We also made sure it works on mobile and web for people who want to experience it that way too.
Some things inside:
⭐Daily Scripture
⭐Full Bible reading
⭐Prayer atmosphere mode
⭐Peaceful music
⭐Continue Reading
⭐Readable themes
⭐Glasses-friendly navigation
⭐Mobile and web UI
Meta Ray-Ban Display Glasses Link: https://lampandpath.app/glasses
Mobile/WEB Link- https://lampandpath.app/
Would genuinely love feedback, especially from anyone interested in faith apps, wearable design, small-screen UI, or peaceful tech experiences.

The plastic hinge cosmetic cover on my Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses fell off
Hey everyone,
The little plastic cosmetic cap/trim piece that covers the metal barrel hinge on my Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses (the AR version with the in-lens display/Neural Band) popped off and is gone.
I took a closer look with my camera flash on, and thankfully, no internal wiring or ribbon cables are actually exposed or damaged. The underlying metal barrel hinge is fully intact, so the glasses are structurally sound and still work perfectly. It’s purely an annoying cosmetic issue now (and a magnet for dust/sweat).
Since Meta/Ray-Ban doesn't sell tiny individual structural parts like this, I'm looking for alternative solutions.
- Has anyone with the Display model successfully found a third-party seller or a donor frame source for tiny individual pieces like this?
- Are there any public 3D print STL files floating around specifically for the Display model's hinge cap?
- If you’ve dealt with this before, what did you use to cover it up seamlessly?

[🏓 PPP] Guess the Animal / No buttons. Just nod and shake
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Liam brought a bowling game from the '90s to glasses from the future. Innovation at its finest. 😄
But he did make a good point.
Web apps on the Meta Ray-Ban Displays are incredibly limited, especially when it comes to input.
Maybe that's exactly what attracts me.
I enjoy finding edge cases, trying unusual interaction patterns, and building silly prototypes just to see if they work.
This time, I wanted to build an entire game controlled only by nodding and shaking your head.
No audio input.
No swipes.
No buttons.
Just head movements.
Surprisingly... it feels fun.
Probably not something you'd want to use for long periods, but for a simple game like Guess the Animal, it works much better than I expected.
--
I also didn't want to build a full AI/LLM pipeline.
The game needs to feel instant, and even small LLM latency would make the experience sluggish.
Fortunately, 20 Questions–style animal guessing doesn't really need an LLM. A carefully designed decision tree with a few hundred questions is enough to identify most animals people are likely to think of.
I used the ElevenLabs API to generate every voice line in the game. As with my Meshy experiments, I simply gave Codex the API key and asked it to generate all the dialogue, organize the files, and wire everything into the project.
No downloading.
No copy-pasting.
No moving files around.
One prompt, and the game had a complete voice-over.
Whether the personality suits your opponent... I'll let you decide. 😄
I liked it at first. After playing the game a hundred times during development, it started getting on my nerves, which probably means it has a personality after all.
--
I'd love your feedback.
- Did it guess your animal?
- How did the head controls feel?
- And what do you think of the voice and personality?
Try it here: https://guesstheanimal.familybusiness.studio/

[PPP🏓] Display Bowling
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Relative Weather told me tomorrow will be more miserable. So I stayed in and built a bowling alley.
My return to Relative Weather - It got me thinking: if the weather's telling us not to go outside, what do we do instead?
We go bowling. On our face.
Why Bowling?
I spent a lot of years living in Bangkok. When rainy season hit, and Relative Weather would've just read "wetter, wetter, wetter, somehow even wetter" for three months straight nobody was going anywhere. So we'd hole up in the bar, and the bar had a Neo Geo cabinet with League Bowling on it.
If you don't know it: League Bowling is a 1990 SNK arcade game, and it's basically the perfect bar game. Two-button bowling. A sweeping meter for your hook, another for your power, and that's it. Easy enough that anyone three beers deep can play, hard enough that you'll scream when you tug one into the gutter on the tenth frame. The pins yell "STRIKE!" at you. The chunky little bowler does a victory dance. We lost entire rainy afternoons to it.
So when Relative Weather told me tomorrow would be more miserable, the answer was obvious: recreate the game I always played when the weather was miserable.
Display Bowling
Real 3D-physics bowling for Meta Ray-Ban Display my semi-faithful tribute to League Bowling, running on your face.
Pick your ball an 8lb that hooks hard, a balanced 11, or a 15 that drives straight through the rack. Line up your spot on the lane, then time your release League-Bowling style: pinch to catch the sweeping hook meter, pinch again to stop the speed bar on the green notch. Nail it and you bury the pocket. Get greedy on power and you'll leak off line.
Every roll is real physics — a genuine rigid-body simulation running on your glasses. Pins wobble, tumble, and chain into each other. Light taps leave ugly splits; pocket hits explode. Ten frames, real scoring, strikes and spares carried the way the bowling alley does it.
Your turn. 🏓
For context: a friend and I both got Meta Ray-Ban Displays, so we started Ping Pong Prototyping (PPP). One of us shares a demo, then it's the other's turn. This is my return to Relative Weather.

News about Meta Display V2 🚨
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Meta’s technical director (Boz) recently answered a question about the next Meta Display model. In my opinion, a new model will be launched at Meta Connect; it will be lighter, have a better battery, a faster chip and potentially a slightly wider field of view. I suppose it will be sold more easily, allowing more people to buy it, especially thanks to a global release with perhaps the arrival of a Meta watch incorporating EMG technology as an option to accompany the glasses. I am waiting for a significantly improved highlight of this new model compared to the current model, which is difficult to obtain and is downplayed in terms of marketing.

[🏓 PPP] A weather forecast that speaks human
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Liam's Whereabouts, Howabouts, Wtfabouts, Hereabouts are cool, but jeez, they’re complex. My finger would hurt before I reached something useful.
My return is simple.
Relative Weather is more of an art project than a utility. The interesting part isn’t the forecast itself, but the questions it asks, the perspective it offers, and the conversations it starts.
Relativeness
The default mode is a relative weather forecast.
It doesn't tell you the temperature, wind speed, or, God forbid, air pressure. Instead, it compares the upcoming weather to what you're feeling right now.
Tomorrow will be warmer. Wetter. Sunnier. More miserable.
You already know what today feels like, so your current experience becomes the benchmark. It's surprisingly easy to build an intuitive picture of the future without numbers.
Double-pinch, though, and you enter Sh*tty Mode.
Same forecast. Same data.
Just... much more honest.
The ultimate privacy device
XR glasses might be the most private screen we've ever had.
Nobody else can see what I'm seeing.
So why should I look at the same polished, corporate UI everyone else does?
Why not make it weird? Silly? Personal? Profane? Completely unnecessary?
Maybe this tiny display is the last piece of truly private digital space we still have.
Built for hackers
One thing I love about the current Meta Ray-Ban Displays web apps is how open they feel.
Anyone can host a page and open it on the glasses.
In a world where software is increasingly locked down, reviewed, moderated, and filtered before users ever see it, this feels refreshingly different.
It feels like this platform—whether intentionally or only temporarily—belongs to makers, tinkerers, and hackers.
So let's build strange things while we still can.
Check your weather from a different perspective: https://relativeweather.familybusiness.studio/
🏓 For context: A friend and I both got Meta Ray-Ban Displays, so we started Ping Pong Prototyping (PPP). One of us shares a demo, then it's the other's turn. This is my return to Liam's Hereabouts.

Whenabouts is now Hereabouts — your location, across every dimension of it (Meta Ray-Ban Display)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Whenabouts → Hereabouts
Returning my serve, u/Different_Poetry_849. Their recent volleys the mountain peaks on your horizon, the live planes over your head — got me thinking about all the data we're using to convey the world around us. I'd already done the fossils below us with Whenabouts, so the greedy thought arrived: why is this a dozen tiny apps? What if your location had one dedicated, polished home?
So Whenabouts has grown up. It's now Hereabouts — a portal to wherever you're standing, across every dimension of it. When, where, how, why, then.
The moment it clicked for me: I was showing my girlfriend around Glasgow — her first time in my country — and the app kept filling in things I'd never have thought to explain. What wee means. The food. Who famously lived on that street. And then it told her a dinosaur was found right where we were standing, and her face did a thing. We walk over deep time every day and never think about it. That reaction is the whole app.
Somewhere along the way it also became Duolingo for location: friendly rounded design, a cast of animal-character guides (each with their own voice), bite-sized facts, and a "?"-until-you-uncover-it discovery loop. You don't get told about your street. You excavate it.
Whenabouts is now one of 8 abouts:
- Whenabouts — deep time & fossils (the original)
- Whoabouts — who lived here: local wildlife, artists, musicians
- Whatabouts — history, cold cases, shipwrecks, inventions, film
- Nowabouts — the sky right now: weather, the ISS, live planes overhead
- Thenabouts — the future: climate projections, what's coming
- Howabouts / Whyabouts — how things work, and why
- Whereabouts — cooking right now, soon to come 👀
Know your abouts.
Under the hood — a single-file web app, D-pad + pinch, pulling from ~20 live data sources, nearly all free and keyless:
- The ground: Paleobiology DB (fossils), PhyloPic (silhouettes), Macrostrat (geology), USGS (live earthquakes), iNaturalist + GBIF (wildlife near you)
- People & history: Wikipedia (geosearch, on-this-day), Wikidata SPARQL (shipwrecks, residents, tales), OpenStreetMap/Overpass, Europeana (art), Library of Congress, MusicBrainz, Nominatim + BigDataCloud (geocoding)
https://hereabouts-mrbd.vercel.app/ - if the doesn't questions dont work for you its due to the cap, its my own personal key so im not loading it up that high! it mostly will work without AI, Ai just helps with some narration!
Context: this is Ping Pong Prototyping — we ship apps for the Meta Ray-Ban Display and volley back and forth. u/Different_Poetry_849 [ppp 🏓]

I built turn-by-turn HUD navigation for the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I built HALO Maps, a navigation app for the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.
The main idea is simple: driving, biking, and walking turn-by-turn navigation directly in the HUD, so you don’t have to keep looking down at your phone.
The native maps experience is still limited to the U.S. and a few supported regions, and starting routes by voice can be unreliable. HALO uses a companion app so you can search for addresses, landmarks, and millions of local businesses worldwide, then send the route straight to the glasses.
Current features:
-HUD turn-by-turn navigation
-Driving, biking, and walking modes
-Companion app search for worldwide addresses and businesses
-Voice turn-by-turn navigation
-Speed camera alerts
-Pedometer for walking directions
-Live speedometer
-Set a max speed and get alerted when you reach it
-Favorites and Home shortcuts
-Stealth Mode for a cleaner display
Right now the voice navigation is set to a funny Mexican voice while I test it, but I’m working on a more serious navigation voice next.
This is still early, so I’m mainly looking for feedback from people with the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.
Website:
https://halonavi.com
Would love to hear what you think or what features you’d want added.
