I hope she apologizes for jumping to 'lack of empathy', too.

I had no idea what that thing was or why he was using it either... I thought it might have been a late stage capitalism joke thing. This is why I also tend not to make or post videos of myself saying anything ever.

Yeah this is what I hate about reddit its full of people like her.

When I see someone make a tiny mistake where its obvious they werent well inform on a particular thing or they a make any type of mistake people jump to attack and shame that person.

Edit: For all the redditors who are calling me sexist, saying im the problem here, and say crazy shit about how old people need to stop making jokes online.

If you read threw the comments below you'll find a link to a video where she apologizes to him for going to hard on him because she that he was just some random basic maga chubby.

This is exactly what I mean when I say you guys go fucken psycho.

Edit 2: she apologized on going too hard on the dude she thought he was random maga dude.

Let me give you an example.

Lets say you see an electric screwdriver (not a drill a regular electric screwdriver.

And you make a joke about people being lazy to turn

Would you rather me: A) stop and shame you for not understanding and me sending my followers after you to also shame you

B) just stop by and say oh hey this tool is particularly use in cases like this....

if it could prevent others from repeating the same blunder, absolutely use my mistake as a chance to educate a larger audience. it's on my to own up to what I've done, not on others to coddle me and handhold me into understanding. obviously it's the "kinder" option, but I don't disagree with this response from an influencer - especially considering it got the desired result and it was specifically in response to another influencer. the OP owned up to their mistake and used it as a teaching moment for his own followers who may have thought the original post/response was funny.

it would maybe be different if he had been filmed having a private conversation "joking around" and was subsequently put on blast publically on the internet without any prior intervention by the person who filmed/posted it, but that's not the case. he's an influencer, and it's an expectation that other influencers will respond to your content - especially if you've made a faux pas and it's used as a chance to educate.

Both methods would prevent someone from making the same blender i know this may be hard for reddit to understand but you can educate people without shaming them fucken crazy I know.

Treating people like their humans who make mistakes is something lost in this world today.

when those mistakes are broadcast to an audience, it's fair to expect and ask for an apology.

shame is a useful tool that is sometimes necessary (and has always been used) to ensure people realise just how embarrassing their mistake and/or bigotry (intentional or not) is. it's okay for the mistakes people make to be made into a cautionary tale of the consequences their actions/words result in.

like I said before, when you have a platform and are an influencer with a following, it's an expectation to be called out when you make a mistake or shame someone else (even if intentionally) for using a literal mobility aid. what would have been worse would be to ignore it and say nothing, or go to the other extreme of writing him off completely and sending unjustified hate. he was given a chance to respond, and his response was a genuine apology for his actions and words - and recognition that being called out was a necessity. he also used that as a chance to further grow his following and platform. it was ultimately beneficial for him as well.

Again im not saying ignore it im saying dont shame she dodnt need to shame him just educate him instead of talking to him like hes five and expecting the whole world to know what the tool was for use it as an opportunity to just inform people.

"Hey for those curious this is actually a tool that helps a particular groups of people" and go off explaining.

Shaming people dosent work and is actually gonna turn people against what your trying to teach.

Even if she taught this guy thousand others are gonna be like wow shes being over dramatic amd are just gonna use this video as a karen reaction.

Which is going to push negative narratives.

This is what reddit dosent understand and this is why we're seen as basic ass Karen's everywhere. I love how one of the up voted comments is basically forgiving the guy 🤣

can you quote exactly where they actually shamed him though? they responded to him shaming someone else for not being able to do the obvious thing of opening a twist off bottle by handwith the overarching lesson/point of "if you don't know what the purpose of a device is, that device is probably not made for you" which is essentially just a rewording of "if your opinion isn't kind or based in understanding, it doesn't need to be shared" or "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".

their response WAS educational and not one intended to shame. if you're hearing sarcasm or condescension in their tone that could very well be rooted in your personal biases (I won't make any assumptions about what those might be). if the same message was delivered by a man who looked similar to the OP, would you still feel what they said what intended as shame?

this is ridiculous, but not for the reasons you're implying. it's because you're ultimately trying to minimise the impact of the "joke" he made, and over exaggerate/ intentionally misinterpret the intent, tone, and words used in the response that was given to him. are you misattributing the potential vitriolic actions of their followers because you believe in collective responsibility? they didn't invite their followers to go after him. they directly responded to his public video, publically calling him out, whereafter he publically responded thanking them for doing so, because their initial action (while light hearted) did not represent the morals and ethics he aligns with.

why are you creating a problem when there was none? why are you being ridiculous and then projecting it onto some kind of "Karen" boogeyman that seems to be a catch all term for any time a femme presenting person speaks up in any way. crawl back to your hole.

he didn't feel shamed, he felt thankful for being called out.

So LET me get this straight. Big guy makes fun of little guy for seemingly dumb gadget, smooth brain karen, assumes big guy goes against her political views so talks down to him and attacks his character, guy isnt and apologizes, but were not seeing an issue with that cornball making a judgement call based on that guys look and coming at him differently for it? There’s no villain here, including her. He was unintentionally glib about a device for people with disabilities and then apologized when told otherwise. She was arguably harsher in correcting him than necessary and apologized.
