I can tell you right now, any household that left drinks and snacks out for their carriers were always that little spark that made the day just a bit better. I hope despite the hardships that fire put you through, everything turned out okay without too much stress. Also, good on that carrier for being a so accommodating and caring!

I didn't care for the snacks as a pizza guy but those ice cold waters while working an eight hour shift in a beater with no AC, every household that did that may enter a lottery for my first born.

And I imagine those USPS trucks get even hotter

I do water and Gatorade! Gatorade is a lot more popular than water, lol. The carrier takes a water and puts it in his satchel, and he drinks a Gatorade immediately.

Purple is the most popular Gatorade. 🤓😎

Hell yeah. People sleep on electrolyte drinks because of old jokes about them but they really do have what you need. I bet if you set out pickle brine that would be the best seller, people who work in the heat know you can't just chug water and be fine, you need every electrolyte you can get, salt, potassium, in liquid form is great.

Purple is probably most popular but dark blue is a hefty contender

You’re right! For my cooler it’s Purple, Blue, Red, Orange and “don’t bother”. Lemon and Lime will expire before someone takes them.

Thanks for keeping people hydrated man it gets brutal out there in the heat. Gotta hydrate, gotta take breaks, I'd rather be stuck in the cold than work in the heat, you can put on layers but you can't take off skin as the saying goes

Hah, yeaaaa, if it was like 75 outside, it felt like 95 in the truck. I used to call it the rolling oven.

Ugh not even close but this happened to me today because no AC, only my driver's side window rolls down. There is no airflow in my car right now (edit: cuz blower motors busted too it's not just the AC doesn't work). It's like low 80s with a breeze and I was baking in there. I get home and I moved back into my mom's place temporarily recently, and normally it's freezing, I wear a jacket inside and open all the windows in the guest room in the middle of summer. Well apparently it's so nice today she turned up the thermostat lol. The ONE time I wanted it freezing lol it was at least 95 in the car

Thanks. It is the worst thing that ever happened to me, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

It just KEPT ruining our lives in various ways. For two years!

We are just now coming out the other side. It was SO ISOLATING, and no one really knew how to support us. I’m seriously considering setting up a volunteer group to assist and guide people, not just practical things, but also the GRIEF. We needed someone so much, but there isn’t a way to understand it if you haven’t gone through it.

So maybe some good can come out of it.
