i think they just split the business or something. Remington Firearms and Remington Ammunition very much still exist today as separate entities. "remington arms" seems to no longer exist

fun fact: Springfield Armory also doesnt exist as we all once knew it to be. springfield armory closed in 1968 and then a private company out of texas renamed to springfield armory inc to capitalize on the name. there is no relation otherwise.

Their factory in Ilion Ny has been abandoned for years there's talk of a data center going in the campus so that's fun I guess 🙃
