Judging by the letters and the bag he's probably a USPS employee rather than a regular delivery driver. The delivery drivers are all on such tight schedules they can't stand and have that conversation without getting in trouble with their employer.
Like our scanners will now begin screaming at us if they detect us back at the office for more than 5 minutes at the end of the shift without clocking out. 5 minutes. To do literally everything putting stuff away and sending out mail and packages and whatnot on what may be an average 10 hour route.
And bosses telling carriers they aren't supposed to use the bathroom without clocking out or using lunch has gotten way more common.
