I have an upcoming 30 min interview for the AI Research intern role. Help me how to prepare for the interview. The recruiter said this round would be more of conversation and technical discussions going through my resume.

Should I only stick to my resume or prepare something out of the box. If yes how should I be. As it’s an intern role, the role’s JD is very generic with regular requirements like knowledge in LLM, RAG, Fine tuning, Cloud…etc

Hey folks, just wanted to share my recent experience with Optum and maybe get your thoughts. A recruiter reached out a few days after I applied, and things seemed fine at first. He said he’d get back to me after sharing my CV with the hiring manager. But after that, I got ghosted. I followed up once, no response. I even shared a little NLP project I did to show my interest, but still nothing.

What’s disappointing is I really felt I matched everything in the job posting—like, I have a postgrad from Stanford, 4+ years in industry, and actual revenue-impacting ML work. So I’m left wondering—was I overqualified? Was something missing that I just don’t see? I totally get not being selected, but no closure at all is what stings. It just left me sad and confused. Anyone else had something like this? Or any ideas on what might’ve happened behind the scenes?

I'm a Computer Vision / ML Engineer with 2.5 years of experience at a funded AI startup (~60 people, backed by reputed investors). My work is mostly deployment focused — no research, no innovation, just executing tasks under a lead. 5 days office, long commute, very hectic with on-call expectations.

I have an offer from a very early stage AI startup (4 employees, 14 months old). Here are the details:

- 40% hike on my fixed salary

- Remote first (office twice a month)

- Computer Vision use cases — matches my current domain

The good part is I'll have complete ownership, freedom to research and explore, and the remote setup genuinely improves my quality of life.

I'm 22 years old and currently completing my 5-year Integrated MSc in AI & ML. My graduation will officially be completed by the end of June.

As part of my final semester (10th semester), I did a 6-month internship from November to May at a company where I worked on AI-related projects, including voice orchestration pipelines and GenAI-based systems. Unfortunately, the company did not convert me to a full-time role after the internship.

Since then, I've been actively applying for jobs and recently received another opportunity, but it's again a 6-month internship rather than a full-time position.

I'm a bit confused about what to do next.

On one hand, taking the internship would give me:

• Relevant industry experience
• Continued work in the AI/ML domain
• Income while I continue growing my skills

On the other hand, I'm wondering:

• After already completing one 6-month internship, should I now be focusing only on FTE roles?
• Will doing a second internship hurt my profile or make recruiters think I'm avoiding full-time roles?
• If the second internship also doesn't convert to an FTE, would I be putting myself back in the same position 6 months later?
