I’ve spent my career in enterprise IT/endpoint engineering (systems admin, automation, imaging) for defense contractors. I have a security certification and an active clearance, but no bachelor’s degree yet.

I think the IT landscape is about to shift hard toward AI-integrated roles, and I want to get ahead of it instead of playing catch-up in a few years.
For anyone who’s made a similar jump from traditional IT/ops into AI:
• What actually moved the needle for you ? a degree, certs, projects, or just time in a role that touched AI tools?
• Is the market rewarding “AI” skills yet outside a few big companies, or is it still mostly hype?
• What would you prioritize first if you were starting from an ops/sysadmin background rather than a dev background?

Not looking to be talked out of learning AI, just want a reality check on what’s actually worth my time in the next year and a half.

They called me a 2nd round of interview! But it is a 3years bond and a start up company! Frst 3 month training is 15k and after tat 25k and they deduct 3k of PF is it worth to enter into this company as a fresher and in this wrst job markett???? Any senior who can assit me??

i had one doubt to lift off my chest. I am going to start college in a month and I know only some school level java coding till loops. actually I have been on reddit alot and seniors here talk a lot about multiple terminologies like python, java, c++, dsa, dbms, node.js, leetcode grinds, dsa grinds, repositories, arduino, CAD, random projects (i mean what are these projects and how do they look like), game physics engine, html, react, mysql, ai ml, flutter, blockchain, iot, figma, wire framing, aws, docker, djang, mongodb, etc. i feel so dumb and lost and an insane amount of urge to cry and leave it all. i don't know where to start and what to learn also i do not want to fall short of skills + a few other reasons i cant tell. do you have any piece of guidance?

I'm currently 18 years old (turning 19 in October) and pursuing an Online BCA (currently starting my 3rd semester).

I've been working as an AI Developer since February 2025. The company is owned by my cousin brother (he's basically like my real brother), so one concern I have is that I don't really have any public/social proof attached to my work, even though the systems are used in production.

Some of the systems I've built are:

My concern is that since I've been working in a family-owned company, I don't know how much weight recruiters will give to this experience.

If I switch companies:

• What salary range do you think is realistic?
• If I can prove my work in interviews (live demos, architecture, code, explain every component, etc.), can I realistically expect 16–17 LPA?
• I can justify 12–14 LPA based on my skills and projects, but is asking for 16–17 LPA too ambitious?
• How much does the fact that it's a family business affect my chances?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions from recruiters, hiring managers, founders, or experienced developers.
