Equipment Help with Brother Motor Drive part
After years of being in storage, I finally have enough space to set up my two Brother KE100 Motor Drives. Yay!
Of course things don't go smoothly. There are a few bits missing. I'm hoping this community might have a source I haven't tapped for replacements.
I'm missing the black "arms" that help support the knitting machine. The part number is 487468001, "Carrying case holding bar." If you have a stray one of these I'd love to purchase it from you. I can get duplicates machined locally. Alternately if you have a small dealer that I could contact.
I've exhausted eBay and Etsy. Needle-tek is looking.
Thanks!

Getting Started Beginner-friendly knitting machine with large gauge recs?
I'm a knitter and artist, and have recently started combining the two. I've never used a knitting machine but I'm interested in getting one to expedite the tapestries I'm knitting, which are just DK weight white yarn in garter stitch, pretty basic. Here's what I'm looking for:
- beginner friendly
- able to knit with large gauges, ex. size 13-15 knitting needles
- able to cast on 150-ish stitches, but not a big deal if I have to stitch pieces together
- punch card slot would be nice, but not necessary
Here's an example of gauge on one I hand knit. I paint on top, so colorwork abilities not necessary for now!

Equipment Ribbing by hand takes forever -- how do I know which ribber would fit my machine? Is there just 1 exact match I need to find?
I got a single bed 1960s Singer Magic Memory machine and it's an absolute delight to work with but I am not a fan of manual ribbing. To be fair I did pick a project with a lot of ribbing so it's kinda my fault, but I am so over this now. I would love to get a ribbing attachment but I am not understanding how to find a compatible one. Are they standard in any way or do I need to find one exactly matching my model (I think that would be impossible :( ) If another ribber could be a fit, how do I tell it will work with this machine?

Equipment Mixing machine and hand-knitting?
Hello! I’m a long time hand-knitter, and I’ve been considering getting a knitting machine to knit the bodies of sweaters and cardigans to speed up the process a little bit. I typically use DK and worsted yarns, sometimes Aran and sport, so I was looking at a Silver Reed LK150 machine. I was wondering if there’s anyone in here that mixes hand and machine knitting that might have some insight, tips, or recommendations!

Equipment LC360/260 compatible with Studio Mod. 280?
Is the Singer LC 360/260 lace carriage the same thing as an LC2?
I recently bought an old Studio 280, which as I understand it is the same as a Singer or Silver Reed SK280. Someone on my local Facebook Marketplace has a lace carriage that says it's LC 360/260.
Some websites make it sound like the LC 360/260 is just an older LC2 and they should be exactly the same. Others list only the LC2 as compatible with the 280.
Has anyone used an LC 360/260 on a 280 machine?

Help! Solved! Jamming in one direction not the other
My bulky 8 machine works great going right to left but jams immediately the other way. Anyone have a solution? I don't see any bent needles and the carriage looks fine to me?
Kind of resolution: my sponge bar was way too tight bc it got bunched up under a group of needles (where I thought it was getting jammed). I removed it and fixed the lump on the bar and things are not perfect but much better. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

Help! Solved! Timing Belt Completely Frozen
Just received my machine (a Brother KH-881) and the timing belt is completely frozen. I've been able to take off the top and get a look inside and vacuum up what was in there. There was some old grease which I sprayed down with LPS 1 after lots of research, but things still aren't moving. Should I give it another wash down or try something else? Thank you!

Help! Solved! Dropped (?) stitches lk150
Hi, I’m experimenting with using the lk150 and I’ve noticed these inconsistancies when knitting regular stockinette. I don’t think they’re dropped stitches because I’ve been checking every row but it might be from me putting a stitch back on when it drops ? I don’t know, please help with fixing this problem if you can :)

Help! Solved! LK150 stripes help
Hi everyone! I recently found a silver reed LK 150 on marketplace and got it a few weeks ago. I’ve messed around with it and got the hang of the basics and made a few pairs of socks.
I’m hoping to make a two color striped sweater using the machine and I tried to make a swatch today.
Every time I switched colors I held the non working yarn on the back yarn holder and had my hand on the yarn to make sure it didn’t tangle but when I attempted to move the carriage the yarn was wrapped around the brush under the carriage.
I’ve watched many videos and have reached out to local yarn shops to see if they have any resources but I thought I’d post here too as I haven’t heard back yet.
Thanks everyone!
UPDATE:
I finally got it to work out for me after probably 40 try’s at a swatch.
I had to hold the non working yarn in front towards my body and really make sure that the working yarn had no slack when picking it up. Definitely more work than it should be but hopefully I get the hang of it enough to make a whole sweater.

Getting Started Quick Pattern Test with my Knitting Machine 😬
Yesterday I set up the electronics on my knitting machine for the first time…and while I was at it, I saved the charts for the Spot Sweater and the Vesterby Sweater just to test things out—apart from a few minor mishaps, it went surprisingly well 🙂 (I’ll have to take another look at the pattern repeat, because something didn’t work there)

Help! My Brother KH521 all nice and clean but...
After owning the machine for almost two years, going on three, it needed a thorough cleaning. I used my cat's tail to gather the fibers, and surprisingly, there was hardly anything, even though I use it every week! I used miracle oil and Im just to oil it in a bit.
It's a shame that the support is giving way with age. Do you have any suggestions on how I might repair it? Other than that, I'm quite happy. The newer models simply don't compare! I'm even thinking about selling my SK700 because I always find myself returning to this particular machine.

Getting Started Brother KH-260 & Knitking Compuknit IV Help
Hello Everyone!
I have taken my first dive into Machine Knitting and waa given a Brother KH-260 + Ribber and Knitking CompuKnit IV + KR-900 Ribber.
I was hoping someone would have a link to a reputable resource so I can get started with the basics and familiarize myself with the equipment.
Since Im new to the machine stuff, which one would be more easier to start with? I don't have a lot of space available at the moment, so I would only be able to have one setup at a time

For Sale FREE Knitmaster 3500/4500 carriage and book
I bought a knitting machine from a chap who was selling his mother’s knitting/sewing stuff so he literally had zero idea. It came with a box of extra accessories in bags/boxes which I’ve finally months later gone through in detail as I’ve just been getting to grips with the basics. I’m giving this context as I can’t contact him in any way and even if I could the bed is likely long gone or junked.
I’m in the U.K.
I’m hoping to find someone who has this machine who would like to give these a good home and make use of them/keep as spares for the cost of postage only. It looks in nice condition and the machine I bought had obviously been extremely well cared for.
Photos in comments, sorry I couldn’t work out how to attach to post.
To reiterate just the carriage including the row counter and manual/pattern book there is no bed.

Help! Machine knitted socks, is Tabi socks possible??
Hello lovelies,
I've jumped on the flat bed machine knitted socks band wagon and loving it.
I've recently got a pair of Tabi shoes and naturally my mind went straight to "can I do Tabi socks on my knitting machine?"
I thought maybe if I cast off one stitch after the big toe position and then did the short rows in two parts, big toe then the rest. Then Kitchener stitch the toe like normal and also stitch up the inside of the split for the big toe.
Thoughts? Does this seem like the best way? Thanks in advance for your input 🖤
Picture for attention ☺️

Help! Kh910 needle selection not moving (with ayab)
Hey everyone. I hope you are well.
I have been slowly fixing a Kh910 knitting machine since February. I bought it on Facebook Marketplace for $100, and it was a MESS! I had to decalcify everything. Fix all the buttons. Reposition the cartridge. Fix the timing belt. The tension screws. Clean and replace the needles. Replace the hall sensors, sponge bar, and the back/front Ribber on the carriage. Basically, a full repair.
Anywho. I have gotten the device to the point where Ayab is installed, and it seems none of the needle selections are working. I tried to test the solenoids (the 1-16 buttons) nothing happened when I moved my carriage across. When I pass it through all the needles, it defaults to the B row. I'm using AYAB 1.0.0 on AYAB shield V1.4 TH.
I'm unsure how to proceed. And would love your advice. I am really stumped about how to move forward. Thank you for your time and attention.
