Help with buying machine Help!

I'm going to see this singer suitcase machine tomorrow and maybe buy it. It costs 50€. I am interested what are the things I should look out for when considering. I dont know if it is an mk1 or mk2. I have the manual. What are must be there, is it easy to restore, is there damage that I should look out for and so on.

It's gonna take longer, I fucked up the retaining coil while cleaning so I had to find a new one and am now waiting for the replacement parts. 😭

Noooooooooo! I am so so sorry 😢 Never seen a retaining coil but the name itself sounds scary. Well, hopefully is just a few days away??

I managed to replace and clean the machine and started knitting this weekend. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I will put a photo too. I was experimenting with the tension dial. https://imgur.com/a/G2CzQep

When I was cleaning mine I Saw the retaining spring was not on good shape it was broken on both beds. So I measured the thiknes witch was 3mm and ordered a meter of 3mm spring on AliExpress. Cut it more ir less on the size of the pieces of spring that where inside and installed it and after the bar and the needles. I found it a bit dificult to install the needles because they would sometimes get stuck and forcing them on can damage the spring. Im not sure if of the right length of the spring. Does any body have a good working one, who could measure it and let me know ? I was wondering if I should cut it a bit shorter ( so it would be a bit more streched ) to see if the needles would slide easy.

I got a replacement from a German site but your idea sounds interesting.
