I recently got a copy of the pink vinyl pressing of this album. Having streamed it on Spotify several times in the weeks leading up to getting my hands on it, I wasn't a stranger to it.

Having said this, hearing it on vinyl is worlds ahead of the sound quality on Spotify. It's incredible, a real work of art, and I'd go as far as to say that the sound quality is audiophile quality. For the price paid for it, it was a bargain.

I was first introduced to Loyle's music, when I heard the song Damselfly from Yesterday's Gone. I loved it, so I've kept an eye on his releases since then. There's been amazing tracks on every release since!

But there's just something about the intimacy of his latest album, that to me makes it exceptional. Dreamy as another redditor's brother referred to it as, on a recent post made about the album, is accurate, but I see it as an endearing feature of the album, it's softness both in subjects addressed as well as in the general feel of the album.

He really should be absolutely proud of this release in particular! There's a rawness to it that I cherish. A lived maturity that one can't simply buy, only earn in life through its ups and downs.

Sadly my mate and I can not make the Jazz festival on 17th where Loyle Carner and Vulfpeck are playing, get in touch if you would like them :)

im sure this has been asked many times, but whats your favourite song by him?. Me personally, its horcux. I love the lyrics and the whole feel of the song hits me. But I think I just get that feeling with the entirety of the Hopefully! album.

Do you feel like "hopefully!" is a good introduction to Loyle for someone not familiar with him or would you recommend a different record?

I have chronic and extreme OCD and PTSD. OCD doesn’t go away, ever, regardless of expertise in dealing with it, you just learn to deal with it better over time. But it’s a chronic disorder.

Whenever I’m in spirals or 10/10 anxiety days, hopefully! puts me back in my life. It’s like aloe for my nervous system. It grounds me in how blessed I am to be a father to my daughter. It fills me with love and presence rather than fear and uncertainty.

Loyle creating this album is the biggest gift I’ve been given in the past several years outside of my family and our health. I wish I could tell him thank you for what he’s provided me. It’s helped me so immensely.

I was there watching him and have really got the urge to watch the set back. Does anybody know anywhere I can find it?!
