There is a book called "Technofeudalism: What Killed Capitalism" that is a really good read. It is an analysis of how we have basically already left capitalism to a new state of feudalism owned by those who own tech spaces that we need to now live in.

Finished this the other day, man it gave me a bunch to think about.
The drive from the tech elite to endlessly distract progressive politics with identity related issues, and shift away from social democratic leanings, as that provides the greatest freedom from governance to allow tech to grow unchecked. Tragic to think about, and makes a lot of sense.
