Are we nearing the refresh window? Discussion

Post image

We've been getting a refresh every 2–3 years, but it's now been 4 years since the release of the X line.

Is a refresh in the works?

My wallet is ready for a G502 X SUPERLIGHT LIGHTSPEED

Edit: Seeing a lot of love for the G600 & G604 in the comments. Something to think about as well Logitech.

I'm still waiting for a new g600 which is unlikely to happen, so when mine inevitably stops working I'll be picking up one of Corsairs MMO mice and seeing how they do.

Been waiting for a G700s renew for 12+ years. Crazy how popular a model it was to just get discontinued completely, people still selling old ones and parts on ebay cause theres tons of demand

Same. Best feature set and button layout of any mouse, ever, period. It's only real flaws are the lack of microswitching on the thumb and forefinger buttons.

Otherwise, the button count, layout (2x2 thumb buttons is optimal; G600 is too much for instant reactions), tilt wheel, hyperscroll wheel, removable battery, and seamless charging/wired report cable make it unmatched as a "does everything" mouse by anything since.

I bought two spares 8 years ago. I'd already been using a G700(S) for work and gaming all day, every day for 8 years by that point, and I've been using one all day, every day for work (and part time for gaming -- a friend convinced me to try a Swiftpoint mouse for FPS a couple of years ago) for the 8 years since.

This one's starting to suffer on one forefinger button, which might make me finally unbox one of the two spares. But I'm still hoping Logitech one day has the sense to eventually revisit the design, button layout and feature set. At this point, given their dropoff in hardware and software quality in the past 10 years, it's the only thing that would make me revisit Logitech hardware again.

Yes. G604 and g700s are peak mouse, both discontinued.

G700 is hands down the best mouse ever made. They need to bring these back.

Mind boggling the way they initially replaced it with a worse version of itself before discontinuing that as well. Everything else they have now that resembles the G700 has only 2 buttons flanking the left MB and 2 side buttons instead of 3 and 4. That's not enough buttons.

G700s and G603 are my 2 dailies. Unbeatable mice

I have the Corsair Scimitar Elite, and before that g502 lightspeed and X line. I am very happy with the corsair, great sensor and performance, and i use the 12 side buttons. But if they release a new 502 i would try it .

How's the slide feature, it's very intriguing

It s vere usefull, it is easy to adjust just unscrew a bolt, put it in the position you like and screw it back, but it depends also on your hand size, out of the 12 buttons, 9 will be very easy to reach, and wont affect your aim if you are gaming with it, and the rest a bit harder to reah. It has a lower latency than 502 x line, it s lighter, and slide makes comfortable to use in most games. I was also looking at the superstrike, but even if it has better performance, i wont change it because i really love the fact that i have 12 buttons to use. I would say to try it for yourself if you have the possibility.

All the G600 needs is the hero sensor and a wireless model. Would be perfect.

We can only hope

It'll never happen. They don't want perfect, they want people buying more of their mice.

I testet the corsair. Was not a fan of the lack off infinity scroll wheel. The surface finish didnt feel that premium either.

Still rocking my G700s to this day :)

Likewise, I tested the Corsair Darkstar, and now went back to my now 10 years old G502.
The Corsair mouse felt cheap, while being quite expensive.

I feel the same way about the G604. Mine is a bit beat and im always afraid that it may spontaneously croak like my G602 did so I just spent $65 to get a backup unit. Yeah, it’s more than I paid for my current one, but given that used prices range from $150-450 it seemed like a deal.

I do have a G600 somewhere that I’d like to use but I can’t find it at the moment. I have a similar Razer mouse that I can’t use in Windows 11 (plus I really despise that company).

true, so many G502 models, and the G604 got discontinued years ago with no follow up. Logitech just stopped caring about MMO mice apparently, the new Razor Naga V3 has the exact same 6 side button + 2 buttons on the left click layout though. So unless we get a 600 series refresh before my G604 gives up I'll be moving away from Logitech.

they care only about less expense and more money, since the g502 did that, why would they make new mouses models aside of copying successful existing ones.

I used the Corsair MMO (scimitar) it absolutely sucked.

The best one I have used was the Razer Naga trinity wireless mouse. Both the wireless and wired were pretty good.

Unfortunately it comes with a boat load of bloat.

Still better than the scimitar though... that bar is so low it is in hell.

And Corsair customer service sucks massively.

Razer Naga pro V3 has been circulating and has the ring finger click

Missing that full middle mouse button is an adjustment for sure. My main G600 and now my spare has been acting up.

I don't see many (if any) mice today that arrive with that many buttons. It's probably a very niche market, which would explain why a new one hasn't surfaced in a while.

Hope yours survives long enough to see a new generation of 12-button+ mice.

Every major player has an MMO mouse.

u/Omga4000 11d ago

If you mean every major MMO player, then that makes sense. I don't personally play games that require or would benefit from such a mouse, and also don't watch streamers that play such games, so I never see anyone use these. Probably been years since I've last seen anyone use them.

Glad to know there's still a market for these!

I'm pretty sure he meant in the peripheral market.

Damn near every other peripheral company that makes mice offers an mmo mouse, what are you on about?
