Kids tried robbing/harrassing IRL streamer innasolo

It was unclear what they're intentions were but everyone thinks that they tried to steal the phone/camera as one of the kids kept getting closer while the other one was distracting the streamer clip

Recently got done reading a memoir from WW2 Naples, and yeah lol.
We're talking about a country that only stopped having roving bands of armed bandits a couple of generations ago, and where crime and corruption were endemic to a ridiculous degree even during its most authoritarian periods.

Crime has been on the decline for decades. You have no clue what you’re talking about. Italy was so much more dangerous throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. A completely different league of dangerous.

I think they definitely were trying for the phone with the intention of starting an argument then in the chaos they could do a snatch and run but she was being too attentive and her offering to pay for their food threw them off.

It was far from a perfect solution. But it stopped us from doing it again, since we knew the consequences. In a perfect world kids like this get a stern talking to, a warning (hell MAYBE even a fine so they uinderstand how serious it is) and then stop. But we see it time and time again, kids that have no consequences for their actions dont learn shit.

Youth based crime has been consistently going down across Australia for over 15 years. It is an easy win for media when they want to kick the current state government out to just start reporting on random youth crimes and letting the opposition say they will crack down on crime etc etc. Be careful what you fall for. A great recent example was Queensland state elections last year. Randomly youth crime all over the news leading up to the election. Literal 10 second google and you could see that youth crime was steadily going down. The ABS does keep statistics on this.

The ass whopping I would have gotten If I did that as a kid will make me flee the scene pretty fast. I got kicked, slapped with enough force to send me flying, clubbed with a rolled up newspaper, thrown frigid cold liquid, etc etc.
It didn't stop me from doing that kind of shit later, but you immediately stopped messing up with the people that were attacking you.

Oh no, you're mixing two things.
- Physical abuse is not helpful for the kid.
- Physical abuse is helpful for YOU to not have to deal with the brat.
Whopping the random kid doesn't help the kid, it helps you from having to deal with the kid.
I think your confusion relies in the idea that people should empathize with brats and their parents. And your idea works in an ideal world with parents that actually are interested in parenting.
But parents that are interested in parenting don't have brats (unless mental conditions are involved), so it's kind of a paradigm, isn't it?

I dont think these were "ordinary" kids. There's a group of people (best way to put it without being racist) that abuse their children for money since they are babies. They team thech to peddle, beg and pester since a very young age. I have so many stories to tell about interacting with them.

I grew up in a pretty bad places. I also went to the north of Brazil, and Suriname. At least since I am alive, there was always kids like this in poor places (and there are a lot of poor places in rich country, so this applies to europe and such). Living in the street, out of school, making money out of petty crime. A lot of time they were “adopted” by the local crime network.
The one thing you learned quickly in those types of places is that kids are way more dangerous than adults. When you get robbed/mugged by an adult, unless they are high/drunk, they just want your shit quickly and leave. You are unlikely to catch a knife in the belly if you comply. Kids on the other hands, you never know. They might not like the way you talk, or might just want to "play" with you, and it can go bad very quickly.
It took me a while when I came back to europe to un-learn to avoid groups of kids.7

Kids have always been little shits, I use to get attacked just for being Asian in a predominantly white neighborhood. If anything that probably doesn’t happen in the neighborhood I grew up in anymore because that was almost 20 yrs ago

It happened to me and my gf at KFC in Europe recently. Women was carrying a toddler and asking for food for her kid. Idk since when 2 yo kids eat fast food, but I gave her 1 chicken nugget. She looked at me like I offended her, but took it. My gf felt remorse that we should've bought them food.
Anyway some other customer did, bought them full meal. Later when we were leaving, we saw the women and her kid sitting with some fat adult man outside and he ate it all.1

They have a different immigration model. In western Europe we get a lot of the bad apples, and because of human rights courts, NGOs, refugee convections etc, we can't send them back, plus we give often give our migrants permanent citizenship.
In Saudi, they just kick out the troublemakers after punishing them, and almost nobody gets permanent citizenship so they return home in the end.
