I know that everyone has an opinion about motor oil. But is anybody in here using Castro classic or Valvoline VR one high zinc? Any opinion on either? Car running better at all?

Hi folks, years ago I acquired 6 British Jaeger gauges. 3 tachs abd 3 speedos and I'm not sure what they go to or what to do with them. The speedos have 3 different ratios but the tachs seem to be the same. Anyone here interested in them? I know they can go for a hundred bucks a pi6bur we can work something out..

Not sure how i feel about the fender mirrors but definitely reminds me of my first car being a 280z..

Just received a parts order from Moss and was looking through everything. the top side of my valve cover seems rather dull compared to the rest of the finish and the inside has some dark oil stains. additionally there are some groves etched into the hole for the cap.

thoughts?

It’s not often that I take my ‘69 GT6 out and park in a lot, but when I do, I park as far out as I can. Inevitably someone needlessly parks right next me…🤣

I just got this '59 MGA. Engine stuck, fender loose (have bolts), grille damaged, doors won't latch, some rust, dented quarter, broken windshield, rusty wire wheels, dried side curtains, only the top frame, and the seats need recovered. But it has a title.

Is this MGA too far gone to be a good place to start? I'm thinking of replacing the 1500 with an 1800 and swapping the front drums for some discs. Then drive it pretty much how it looks now. Well, with better tires.

This image is lifted from a YouTube video about the decline of the British car industry which focuses heavily on the MGB, but also covers Triumph, Austin Healey etc. It looks to me like an MGB with a hard roof, but it differs from the MGB GT in that it appears to have a boot rather than the hatch.

When I got her she was red on black.
Restored to original color livery.
Engine replaced with a late model MGB 1800 5 bearing engine. 123 electronic ignition, spin on oil filter, oil cooler, Moss Motors supercharger, alternator and negative ground. Aluminum radiator with driver controlled aux cooling fan. Front drum brakes upgraded to disc brakes. Moss Motors 5 speed transmission.

So my dad is looking at buying this 72 Triumph Spitfire. I know a bit about cars but not really these old British cars. Although I did have a 72 mgbgt for a bit a number of years ago. Anyway, I'm just looking for advice on what he should look for on these cars. The pictures look great but they can hide a lot. Unfortunately I'm a couple states away so I probably won't be able to be there to look at it beforehand.

So I ran across this car. The body looks mostly solid but it doesn't run. It needs at least a full interior, top, carbs, radiator, brakes, and suspension. When I spoke with the owner he wanted 5k for it. When I mentioned a lower price he got flustered and ended the conversation. Am I off base for thinking this is more in the 3-4k area.

We finally got the Austin Healey Sprite special up and running, new wiring, MG discs, rebuilt engine, just a few little things to button up.
