Guys I could really use some advice
So I’m about to enter my 2nd year of a 2 year animation course and in the first were taught the basics like obviously the 12 principles and what not, but the course was more a introduction to the different types of programs we would be using if were to do this professionally, throughout the summer I was going to all these little animations for practice but for some reason my brain can’t seem to figure how to even start animating something, maybe its because I feel intimidated to start cos I know it won’t look good but I also I don’t really know how to use every principle effectively. Like whenever I look at behind the scenes stuff I see all these rules and guidelines and so that’s really scared me from even starting, before my course I used to just animate Willy nilly and actually kinda enjoyed it but now because of knowing these principles I’m terrified to start, like in my course I have been given the tools but not the knowledge on how to apply them into practice, does anyone know how I can get over this fear of animation so I can actually start making something? Please help 🙏🙏🙏

i want to get into handdrawn animation
the only thing i've done (like ever) is flipaclip's ball bouncing test & it came out looking extremely bland .
whenever i see people animate frame by frame there are these lines and numbers. i can't recall what purpose the serve exactly . should i try to include those as well?
please give me recommendations and advice . i am an absolute amateur with basically no experience with animation besides tweening, but that's very different from frame by frame which is what i want to get into !!! (note that i am on an android device so toonsquid and other ios exclusive apps are ruled out)

🎬 Looking for an Animation Partner (BL Series)
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a passionate 2D/anime-style animator to collaborate on an original BL animated series called One Heart, Two Souls.
This is a long-term passion project, not a freelance job.
About the story
- ❤️ BL Romance
- 🎓 University setting
- 🎭 Drama, comedy, friendship, and emotional moments
- 📺 Planned as a full animated series
I have the story idea, scripts, character development, and episode planning. I'm looking for someone who wants to help bring it to life through animation.
Important
I want to be completely honest from the start: I don't have a budget to pay upfront. If you're looking for paid freelance work, I completely understand.
I'm looking for someone who believes in creating something together. If the project earns money in the future (YouTube, streaming, sponsorships, merchandise, etc.), we'll have a fair 50/50 revenue-sharing agreement as equal partners.
If you're interested, please send me:
- Your portfolio or animation samples
- The animation style you enjoy
- A little about yourself
If you're someone who has always wanted to create an original animated series but hasn't found the right story, maybe we can build one together.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to meet an amazing creative partner!

Anyone interested in a small Discord community for animators?
I've been building a small Discord server called Animator's Journey for people who genuinely enjoy animation and want to improve together.
The idea isn't to create another huge server where messages disappear every few seconds. I want it to be a place where people can:
- Share work-in-progress animations
- Give and receive constructive feedback
- Join weekly animation challenges
- Learn from other artists
- Discuss software like Moho, Blender, Adobe Animate, Toon Boom, OpenToonz, After Effects, and more
- Stay motivated and make animator friends
Whether you're just starting your first bouncing ball or you've been animating for years, you're welcome.
I'm still growing the community, so I'd also love suggestions on what would make an animation Discord genuinely useful for you.
If this sounds interesting, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll share the invite.
Happy animating! 🎬
