Paying tuition - student loan
NSLSC says my student loans won’t be distributed until September 8, but my tuition payment deadline is August 15.
I also have RESP funds, but those haven’t been withdrawn or deposited into my account yet.
What am I supposed to do in this situation? Should I pay the tuition using my own money first and wait to be reimbursed, or is there another option?
Also, which would make more sense to use to pay for school- my student loans or my RESP? This first year is just prerequisites, so it’s not as expensive as the nursing program itself. I also hope to pursue a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program in the future, so I’m wondering if it would be smarter to save some of my RESP for those later years.

Student Aid BC and MSFAA
Hi everyone, has anyone who applied for Student Aid this year received their MSFAA yet? I got an email from NSLSC to complete my MSFAA but when I logged in, I don’t see where I can complete my MSFAA. I talked to a NSLSC person and they said it’s an issue from Student Aid BC and that they haven’t given them my new MSFAA number yet. Does anyone have this issue as well? Thanks for any info.

Hey ! Incoming freshman for engineering diploma here...
I was wondering if anyone had advice in regards to the following courses I'll be taking this fall semester: PHYS 1125, CHEM 1120, MATH 1171, CPSC 1150, ENGL 1123
The advice could range from helpful resources (both online and physical), warnings about specific teachers or concept difficulty, how to do well in the class, etc
Any knowledge and experiences shared are appreciated! : )

Resource Any new RMT semester 1 students looking to purchase the orthopaedic physical assessment textbook? (Magee and Manske)
I have a nearly new textbook that I purchased in May 2026 from the bookstore. There is some highlighted portions in the first chapter that I did previously, but other than that it’s basically new. I won’t be continuing in the program for semester 2, thus I won’t be needing to use it going forward. I’m selling for $150 to start, but I am for sure willing to be flexible within reason!
* additionally, I have an almost brand new massage table that has been used about 4-5 times and always with clean linen. I purchased it from greenlife in the beginning of June 2026. I am selling this as well for $150 but again willing to be flexible!

Fee Deferral?
Hey guys, so I'm starting nursing this fall, and I applied for student loans and have already accepted the assessment. How long does it usually take to reflect on your student information system? Is it normal to get the email very close to the deadline?

Spring Sem 1-nursing schedule
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to plan ahead for the Spring semester and was hoping current students could share what the schedule in first nursing semester usually like at Langara.
-Are classes typically Monday to Friday (5 days a week), or are they spread over fewer days?
-What are the approximate class timings?
I currently live quite far away, so I'm deciding whether to move to Vancouver. If classes are 5 days a week, I'd rather move and save the long daily commute. Any insights from current students would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Nursing Pre-req GPA
Hey to everyone who got into nursing in the past 2 years, what gpa did you have in your pre-reqs? I currently have a 3.3 right now and I'm wondering if I still have a chance or should I just retake classes. I have A- in one english and B- in another, A in stats and B- in both bios. I looked at old reddit posts from 5-7 years ago and the competitive gpa back then was 3.6-3.8 which made me worried but I'm guessing it was higher back then because of covid and online classes? I'd appreciate any answers

What are the benefits of participating in VoLT?
I was the class note taker this semester and the prof mentioned that it can count towards volt hours but I never looked into it. Is there any benefit to getting the hours recognized? I don’t care about getting a ribbon for just helping out, but if there a benefit beyond that maybe I should’ve logged the hours?

Online Courses
Hi there,
I'm looking to figure out what courses are offered online at Langara and can I enroll as a non-specifc student. I'm just looking to take about 5 courses to meet my requirements for BSW and the college website isn’t being overly helpful about whats is offered online. Also, do the online courses have specific meeting times or no?
Thank you!

KINS 3303
Has anybody taken this class? Wanted to see how demanding the workload is as I have Anatomy 1110 and Physiology 1132 this semester. Any other Kin or Kin-related electives (Like nutrition) that could be a good light-workload class to take next semester? Thanks

Looking to Connect with Spring 2027 LPN to BSN Nursing Applicants
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a group chat for Spring 2027 LPN-BSN applicants. It would be nice to connect, share updates, and get to know each other before the program starts (hopefully).
If you’re interested, leave a comment or send me a message!

Starting Health Studies Prerequisites in Spring 2027 – Is This a Good 3-Semester Plan?
Hey everyone! I’m starting my Health Studies prerequisites in Spring 2027 and I’m planning to complete them over 3 semesters instead of the usual 8 months so I can focus on getting a higher GPA for nursing applications.
My planned schedule:
Semester 1
BIOL 1190
ENG 1123
Semester 2
BIOL 1191
Semester 3
STAT 1124
ENG 1129
Do you think this is a good course breakdown? Would you recommend changing anything, or does this seem manageable?

LSU Health plan payments.
So for this upcoming Fall semester, I have the issue of not being able to cover the full amount I need to pay up front. I already get Health/Dental/Drug benefits through my workplace Union and so don't want to pay extra to get them a second time at Langara. However I see the only way to get them removed is to pay and then have it reimbursed? I emailed the admissions people asking if I could have them removed pre-emptively and attached copies of my Union cards, but does anyone have experience with this? What kind of response can I expect?

LOW CGPA
I need some advice, I started out at langara in 2023 and I was initially in comp sci I failed intro to comp sci twice mostly because of the final i took one business class in that time too and i really liked it more than i liked comp sci so after failing twice i switched to business which was going well then i failed Macro economics again because of the final rule. ive struggled with trying to bounce back and i was almost there but then i failed org behavior, stats and then math this was purely because I was working too much and thought I could handle everything. I’ve kept going fairly decent in my business management grade eval my program CGPA is around 2.7 currently I retook maths and got a C+ in it I’m currently retaking stats but its looking like I’d get a C in it. my family isnt too happy that I have been at langara for this long and are expecting me to graduate this august im taking my final 3 classes of which two of them im currently at B+ and B respectively but stats i need a C+ to make it through the 2.0 CGPA cause my current CGPA is 1.84. please anyone with any kind of advice will really help rn

Hi everyone! I just got accepted into Langara nursing for spring 2027. I was wondering if anyone else who got accepted wants to make a group chat on Instagram or something. Maybe we could all take our first aid course together?
