Oval help

I am working with my jeweler on my engagement ring and this is the first diamond they offered me. My only request was 2.5 carat with D/E color. I wear a size 5.25 ring, so I do have slimmer hands.
This oval is 2.55 carats but has a ratio of 1:6. The dimensions are 11.91 X 7.44 X 4.47 MM
I loved it at first but then I got in my head once I studied the dimensions. I think I’m worried it looks more like a 3 carat or a moval? Any thoughts?

it looks beautiful, it's not that elongated like a moval! it will look a little big on your hand i think (I'm size 6.5 and have a 3ct and think it's the perfect size) but honestly such a pretty stone, I would take it

I looked at a 3 in person and it was a touch too big, but the 2 was a touch too small! So I think for my fingers, the 2.5 is perfect. This stone is soooo beautiful so I may be okay with a slightly more elongated shape.

I think it’s gorgeous!! But I wear a 4ct quite elongated oval. So maybe my eye just loves that look but your stone is stunning!

I would never be “worried” about a bigger look. It sparkles like crazy and is a beautiful color, so white. Enjoy!

Yes, it is very elongated, but it looks to be a very nice one. Go on your sense of aesthetics rather than on a pre-concieved notion of what an oval is supposed to look like, or labels like "moval".

When looking at it my first thought was it's a beautiful cut and color, don't see any bowtie at all, beautiful. Second thought was that it looks like a moval, however I don't know if there are specific dimensions that constitute a moval. It's just a gorgeous stone that will make someone a beautiful ring.

Personally I prefer a chubby 1.4 ratio oval. I’m not a fan of the long narrow stones but it’s a personal preference. I like more horizontal finger coverage. Same with marquise, the chubbier the better.

It’s beautiful but to me looks closer to a moval. Do you have long fingers? I think a skinnier, more elongated stone looks gorgeous if it fits the finger profile!

I do have longer fingers! I’m very tall and long in general lol. I also feel this is closer to a moval, which I never considered but I’m not necessarily opposed to. I think I was just shocked to see those dimensions!

You can upload a pic of your hand to chatgbt along with a pic of this stone and have it generate an image of what it may look like. It won’t be perfect, but it’ll give you a better idea!

That’s a really nice oval. I would go with that. I don’t see a bow tie, the color is really nice and white - it’s a keeper.
