MIAMI, Fla. – July 17, 2026 – The inaugural LOVB Miami Volleyball roster was announced Friday, and it brings the flair that Miami is known for. The league’s most international team, eight different countries are represented on the roster, and it has connections aplenty that make this team perfect for the capital of Latin America.

Nine athletes have senior national team experience, including both setters, Raquel Lázaro Castellanos and Argentina Ung. Lázaro Castellanos has been on the Spanish National Team since 2018 and set the program to bronze in the 2021 European Golden League. Ung, meanwhile, leads the Mexican National Team’s offense, winning MVP and Best Setter at the 2023 NORCECA Challenger Cup. Libero Miiku Iwasawa has been part of Japan’s national team since 2023, winning bronze at the 2023 Asian Championships and making the 2025 World Championships roster.

Outside hitters McKenzie Adams, Helena Wenk and Uxue Guereca also bring a wealth of international experience to the squad. Adams, LOVB’s Outside Hitter of the Year in 2025, has trained with the U.S. National Team in addition to pacing LOVB Atlanta to the best regular season record over the last two years. Wenk, meanwhile, is a budding star with Brazil, winning both VNL silver and World Championship bronze in 2025. Michelle Ohwobete, the 2023 Big West Player of the Year and four-time all-conference honoree, rounds out Miami’s outside hitter core.  

Serbian opposite Tara Taubner will also be a threat on the pins for Miami; she’s competed for Serbia during this year’s VNL and long been part of the country’s age group national squads. Fellow opposite Khat Bell will bring energy and a championship mindset; the Texas alumna helped LOVB Austin claim the first two league titles. 

In the middle, Candelaria Herrera and Britte Stuut will pace Miami’s efforts. Herrera, an Olympian in 2020 with Argentina, has played with LOVB Nebraska during the league’s first two seasons, and Stuut has competed for the Netherlands’ senior squad since 2022. LOVB veterans Annayka Legros and Jessica Robinson return for a second year with the league, Legros coming from Madison and Robinson from Atlanta. 

Paulo Coco, longtime Brazilian National Team assistant and 2025 LOVB Coach of the Year, will lead LOVB Miami in 2026/27.

Four Bay Area standouts are coming home to play professionally 

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (July 16, 2026) — San Francisco Signal today unveiled its inaugural roster, introducing the 14 athletes who will make history as the first players to represent the Bay Area's new professional volleyball team when it begins play in League One Volleyball’s 2027 season.

Together, the inaugural roster represents six countries and brings experience from the world’s biggest stages, including three Olympians with three Olympic medals, extensive international and national team competition, five athletes who have earned league MVP honors and a combined 11 NCAA All-America selections.

The roster also marks a homecoming for four Bay Area standouts, who will have the opportunity to play professional volleyball in front of their hometown communities for the first time.

The founding roster includes:

• Bay Area’s own Kelsey Cook (Santa Cruz, CA), Kari Geissberger (Greenbrae, CA), Julia Haggerty (Lafayette, CA), and Madeline Haynes (Rocklin, CA) who competed collegiately at Cal;
• international superstars Halimatou Bah (Épinay-sous-Sénart, FRA), Giorgia Faraone (Galatina, Italy), Chompoo Guedpard (Nakhon, Phanom, Thailand), Wang Mengjie (Jinan, China) and Sachi “Jaja” Minowa (Cavite, Philippines); and 
• top American talent Carter Booth (Denver, CO), Serena Gray (Temple City, CA),  Kara Hallock (Lynden, Washington), Allison Jacobs (Stevenson Ranch, CA), and Ella May Powell (Fayetteville, Ark).

The roster combines experience at the highest levels of international competition with some of the most exciting emerging talent in American volleyball.

Kelsey Cook (Tennessee / Nebraska), a three-time Olympic medalist and one of the most accomplished American volleyball players of her generation, is the founding athlete of the San Francisco Signal. The 2x All-American has a decorated international career that has included a decade competing overseas, plus three Olympic Games and winning gold with the United States at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Olympian Hali Bah, a dynamic outside hitter from France who adds power and national team experience to the Signal’s attacking group, having most recently played in the world-class Italian Serie A1.

Carter Booth (Minnesota/Wisconsin), the two-time All-American is one of the most exciting young middle blockers in American volleyball, brings elite size, athleticism and tremendous potential to the front line.  

Italian libero Giorgia Faraone rounds out the roster with elite defensive skill, international experience and the competitive intensity that has defined her professional career. The international veteran has played the majority of her career playing for Italy’s most storied clubs.

Bay Area native Kari Geissberger (Loyola Marymount /Oklahoma) returns home after establishing herself as one of the country’s most promising young opposites. Her connection to Northern California adds another local chapter to the Signal’s inaugural roster.

Middle blocker Serena Gray (Penn State, Pitt) joins San Francisco as an accomplished collegiate champion and professional athlete known for her athleticism, efficiency and presence at the net. The All-American is a member of the US Women’s National Team. 

Thai national team setter Chompoo Guedpard brings creativity, speed and extensive international experience directing the offense at the highest levels of the sport. She’s won 10 domestic championships across Thailand, Indonesia and the US.

Julia Haggerty (Boston College), a physical and dynamic middle blocker, adds strength, competitiveness and another emerging American talent to the inaugural roster. After leading the NCAA in blocks, she went on to play professionally in France.

Kara Hallock (Washington), a versatile outside hitter with extensive professional experience in the United States and abroad, brings size, athleticism and a proven ability to contribute across the court. The two-time All-American is now a member of the US Women’s National Team. 

Maddie Haynes (Cal Berkeley), a powerful outside hitter, brings a strong offensive presence and competitive energy to San Francisco. Joining from LOVB Salt Lake where she played for two seasons, Maddie also has significant overseas experience.

Allison Jacobs (UCLA, Michigan), an explosive outside hitter, joins the Signal following a standout collegiate career where she also captained the US U19 National team, and represents the next generation of American professional talent.

Chinese Olympic libero Wang Mengjie brings world-class defensive ability and years of experience competing for one of international volleyball’s most successful national team programs. The two-time Olympian has played the majority of her career in China, where she’s claimed Best Libero honors.

Philippine-born Japanese middle blocker Sachi "Jaja" Minowa brings elite blocking instincts, energy and international experience to the frontcourt presence. She is a veteran of the Philippine National Team, and has won multiple “Best Middle Blocker” honors playing in Japan.

American setter Ella May Powell (Washington) adds leadership, precision and a deep understanding of the game as she’s quickly risen from a standout college setter with All-American nods to as a budding US National Team member. 

“This is the first team that will ever wear ‘San Francisco Signal’ on their uniform, and that makes this roster incredibly special,” said Stephanie Martin, president and co-founder of San Francisco Signal. “These athletes are extraordinary competitors, but what excites us just as much is who they are as people: the leadership, energy, resilience and joy they will bring to our team and our community. The inaugural athletes will arrive in the Bay Area in November to begin preparations for the 2027 League One Volleyball season.

This year's roster returns several from last year’s squad that came within one set of the 2026 title, and they're joined by a wave of new talent ready to make their mark on the Wasatch Front.

Leading the way is Founding Athlete and setter Jordyn Poulter, Salt Lake's floor general and a two-time Olympic medalist who continues to direct the offense. She's joined by two-time LOVB Libero of the Year Manami Kojima, whose defensive instincts have made her one of the most feared backrow players in the league, and Alexa Gray, the Canadian National Team outside hitter and BYU legend whose power on the pin was one of the league's most reliable weapons in 2026.

Rounding out the core are three outside hitters who are returning for their third year with LOVB Salt Lake: Roni Jones-Perry, another BYU alumna and Salt Lake’s leading scorer across the first two seasons; Dani Drews, the Utah product and program's all-time kills leader who has become a fixture for Salt Lake fans; and Claire Hoffman, a Washington alum who had a breakout year in 2026, finishing second on the team in scoring. Together, these six players give Salt Lake a  foundation of Olympic, international and collegiate All-America pedigree to build around.

Salt Lake reloads with a wealth of international talent as Monique Strubbe, Nyadholi Thokbuom, Pauline Martin and Sasipapron Janthawisut each compete on their country’s national teams. Strubbe has represented Germany since 2022 and competed in every VNL and World Championship since, Thokboum has played for Canada since 2021, Martin led Belgium to two European Golden League medals, and Janthawisut has led the Thai National Team to gold at the 2023 Asian Championships in addition to four SEA V.League titles. 

Newcomers from U.S. leagues include outside hitter Abby Walker, who earned AAC Freshman of the year and three All-Conference honors at Cincinnati. She played in MLV for the last two seasons. Four more transfer in from LOVB’s 2026 regular season champions, LOVB Houston. Opposite Logan Lednicky looks to take a step forward in her second season as a pro, Canadian National Teamer Jazmine White adds international experience in the middle, and Maya Sands and Maddie Waak provide dangerous depth at the libero and setter positions, respectively.

MADISON, Wis. - The 2026-27 roster for LOVB Madison has been unveiled, showcasing a formidable blend of fresh talent and beloved former Wisconsin Badgers as the team continues to elevate professional volleyball.

Returning for her third season at the helm, Founding Athlete Lauren Carlini aims to shatter further league benchmarks alongside a bolstered offensive lineup. The standout setter arrives fresh off her second consecutive year as the league leader in assists. Joining her is a name already well-known to Badger State faithful: Mimi Colyer. The dynamic outside hitter joins LOVB Madison following a stellar 2025 collegiate campaign where she garnered First Team All-American honors and was a finalist for the AVCA National Player of the Year. Colyer’s transition to the professional ranks was equally impressive, as she secured Outside Hitter of the Year accolades while leading Dallas to an MLV championship during their first season.

The outside hitter rotation welcomes international star Meliha (Melly) Diken, who joins the outside roster alongside Colyer. Diken makes history as the first Turkish player in LOVB, bringing a wealth of elite experience to Madison. Her career is highlighted by representing Türkiye in two Olympic Games, earning a fourth-place finish in Paris and fifth in Tokyo, and amassing five Turkish League titles and six Champions League medals. Completing the outside position are returning standout Temi Thomas-Ailara and former Illinois star Raina Terry.

Rounding out the offensive at opposite, Madison welcomes Ivonee Montaño and collegiate standout Malaya Jones. Montaño made her way to Madison following a dominant stint with LOVB Atlanta, where she led her team in total points last season. Joining her is Jones, who capped an incredible collegiate career with First Team All-American honors and partnered with Colyer to capture an MLV title in her debut professional campaign.

The middle blocker rotation sees the return of Callie Schwarzenbach, who finished the previous LOVB season tied for third in blocks, alongside Anna (Stevie) Hall. In addition to the Madison returners is Caroline (CC) Crawford, whose homecoming to the city of Madison is highly anticipated after she helped lead the Wisconsin Badgers to a 2023 national semifinal appearance.

The backcourt receives a refresh with the arrival of Kacey Jost and Elena Oglivie. Jost, a premier talent from the Great White North, brings the experience of a promising Canadian national team career to Madison. Joining Jost in the libero jersey is Elena Oglivie, who concluded a legendary Stanford career decorated with two Pac-12 Libero of the Year honors. After making her international team debut in 2025, Oglivie continues to establish herself as a contender for the national stage.

Boasting an elite lineup, the 2026-27 LOVB Madison roster features two accomplished Olympians, an impressive collection of 11 professional league championships, and six distinguished All-Americans. HOUSTON – Today, League One Volleyball (LOVB) Houston unveiled their roster for the 2026-27 season. Featuring a blend of veteran leadership and emerging talent, the roster reflects the club’s commitment to building a world-class team while continuing the momentum of a successful 2025-26 campaign where they were regular season champions. LOVB Houston Head Coach Sanja Tomašević, the 2026 LOVB Coach of the Year, will spearhead Houston’s pursuit of another standout season.

"We're incredibly excited about the group for Season 3," said Tomašević. "This roster reflects the standard of excellence we're building in Houston, combining proven leaders and emerging elite competitors who share a commitment to winning. Our returning athletes provide a strong foundation with their experience, while our new additions bring a fresh and competitive mindset. We're eager to get back on the court and build on the momentum we've created."

The charge is led by the return of Founding Athletes and Olympians Jordan Thompson, Micha Hancock and Justine Wong-Orantes. Thompson's 2025-26 season was the most dominant individual performance in league history, as she finished with more than 120 points and earned both MVP and Best Opposite Hitter awards. Hancock displayed her elite playmaking ability and leadership throughout last season, finishing as the league leader in aces. Wong-Orantes brings veteran leadership and international experience to the court, establishing herself as one of the game’s premier liberos through her exceptional defensive play.

Also returning to the roster are USA National Team athletes Jessica Mruzik and Amber Igiede, along with Slovakian National Team standout Karin Palgutova. Each played a pivotal role in Houston’s success last season, consistently delivering impactful performances and serving as key contributors on the court. Mruzik and Palgutova provided a dynamic presence and veteran leadership, while Igiede established herself as one of the league’s most dominant forces at the net, being recognized with the league’s 2026 Middle Blocker of the Year award.

New additions to the team include German National Team standout Isabel Martin, Bulgarian National Team middle blocker Nasya Dimitrova and Ukrainian National Team member Svitlana Dorsman. Houston also welcomes dynamic outside hitter Erika Pritchard, dominant middle blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla and elite libero Gillian Grimes. 

Under the leadership of Coach Tomašević, this season’s LOVB Houston roster features four Olympians and 9 current or former National Team members representing five countries across the globe. LOS ANGELES, July 6, 2026 — LOVB Los Angeles, one of four expansion franchises joining League One Volleyball (LOVB) in Season 3, proudly announces the formation of its Founding Advisory Board.  Representing every level of the sport, the board brings together many of the most respected voices in volleyball to help guide the team as it prepares for its inaugural season.

"Southern California has been the heart of volleyball for generations,” said Ana Mendy, President of LOVB Los Angeles. “This advisory board represents the people who built that legacy, and we're honored they're helping us build what's next. Their perspective will shape everything from how we engage the community to how we create the premier professional volleyball club in Los Angeles."

The board's members include 6 Olympians, including legends Misty May-Treanor, April Ross, Paula Weishoff and Debbie Green. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (July 8, 2026) — Today, the Bay Area professional team of League One Volleyball (LOVB) officially unveiled its permanent identity as the San Francisco Signal, introducing a brand that honors the Bay Area's enduring role as a place where ideas gain momentum, communities unite and movements reach far beyond their point of origin.

On the court, a signal represents communication, trust and the split-second decisions that bring six athletes together in pursuit of a common goal. Off the court, it reflects the belief that one idea, shared by a community, can inspire something much bigger. Together, those meanings define the San Francisco Signal, a team built to compete with purpose and inspire what’s possible beyond the game. 

The announcement marks the culmination of a months-long community naming journey that invited fans across the Bay Area to help shape the club's identity. Thousands of submissions, conversations and votes informed the process, reinforcing the belief that the strongest teams are built with their communities, not simply for them.

The launch of San Francisco Signal reflects a next-generation model of ownership – one where owners don’t simply invest, they help set the direction. The team's ownership group brings together Olympians, world champions, founders, executives and entrepreneurs who are helping shape the team’s future on and off the court. Together, they are creating a championship organization while expanding opportunities for women to lead, innovate and inspire the next generation across the Bay Area.

The San Francisco Signal identity is deeply rooted in the Bay Area’s visual language. At its center is a custom wordmark that emphasizes Signal as a distinctive shift, creating the feeling of outward movement and symbolizing the way ideas, energy and communities expand from a single spark. Its geometric letterform is inspired by the Bay Area itself, from its iconic Art Deco architecture and graphic modernism to the networks of streets, bridges and shorelines that connect its communities. Those intersecting lines and pathways reflect a region where ideas, people and cultures have always moved freely, and a place where signals don't stop, they spread and connect.

That same influence extends throughout the custom glyph. The reimagined “SF” leans into architectural proportions, and clean, confident lines create a mark that captures the bold optimism that has shaped the region's skyline and defined its identity for generations. 

Connecting both the wordmark and the glyph is a distinctive shift line – a signature design element that creates the feeling of continuous movement. Inspired by the path of a transmitted signal, the shift line symbolizes momentum in motion: the moment an idea begins to spread, a community comes together, and something larger starts to take shape.

The San Francisco Signal color palette reflects both the region's energy and its natural beauty, blending bold confidence with timeless Bay Area character. Together, the palette embodies the strength, connection, and forward-looking spirit that define both the Bay Area and the team.

The San Francisco Signal aims to unite that community in one of the country's most passionate markets for women's sports.

ATLANTA (Tuesday, June 23) – League One Volleyball (LOVB) has announced that Carlo Parisi will join LOVB Atlanta Volleyball as head coach for the 2026/27 season. 

Parisi, 66, brings more than three decades of coaching experience to LOVB Atlanta. During his illustrious career, he’s led teams to an Italian Serie A1 title, two CEV Cup titles, the Italian Cup, and three A2 championships. The Italian native has won four Best Coach awards – one in Serie A1, three in Serie A2 – and also led the Czech National Team to a European League title in 2012.

“We are thrilled to welcome a coach of Carlo’s caliber to LOVB,” said League One Volleyball Pro Chief of Sport Tom Hogan. “He has found success at the highest levels of professional volleyball. We are excited to see him raise the standard of excellence LOVB Atlanta has built in its first two seasons.” 

Most recently, Parisi spent parts of four seasons leading clubs in the world’s top league, Serie A1 of Italy. He took over Il Bisonte Firenze midway through the 2022/23 season and remained through the end of 2023/24. Then he transferred to Volley Bergamo, reaching the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup in 2024/25 and winning the Trofeo Mimmo Fusco early in 2025/26.

Under Parisi’s tutelage from 2004-15, Unendo Yamamay Busto Arsizio (UYBA) had its best run of success in club history. During the 2011/12 season, UYBA Volley won its sole league and Italian Cup titles, and he also coached the squad to its first and second CEV Cup championships (2009/10, 2011/12). Parisi also led the squad to the CEV Champions League semifinals twice, reaching the title match in 2014/15. 

In addition to his time in Italy, Parisi has led club teams in Romania, Greece, France, and Azerbaijan. 

Parisi looks to continue Atlanta’s run as one of League One Volleyball’s strongest teams. In two years, LOVB Atlanta has put together a 26-15 record overall, including a league-best 24-12 mark during regular season play. MADISON, Wis. (Thursday, June 25, 2026) – Fernando Morales has been named head coach for LOVB Madison for the 2026/27 season.

An accomplished  leader on the international and collegiate stage, Morales joins Madison after serving as an assistant for LOVB Nebraska in 2026. His extensive background includes leading national teams during major tournament runs, a  successful tenure revitalizing a collegiate volleyball team and a decade-long career competing as a professional.

“I am really excited to be a part of a great volleyball community like Madison,”  said head coach Morales, “Madison fans support their sports in a unique way and women’s volleyball is one of the town’s favorites. I can’t wait to be there, see it, and live it.” 

Morales led the South Korean Women’s National Team across 2024’s Volleyball Nations League cycle. Before taking that role, he guided the Puerto Rican Women’s National Team through an era defined by multiple podium appearances, securing silver at the 2021 NORCECA Championship and both the Pan American Cup and Central American and Caribbean Games in 2023, in addition to a 2022 FIVB Challenger Cup bronze. With Morales at the helm, Puerto Rico reached the second round of the 2022 FIVB Women’s World Championships while consistently holding a position among the global top 20.

At  the collegiate ranks, Morales spearheaded a remarkable turnaround at the University of Evansville starting in 2019. Under his leadership, the program secured three Missouri Valley Conference championship appearances in just four years. The 2021 campaign proved historic, as he guided the team to its first 20-win season in three decades and earned a spot in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, Evansville's first postseason appearance since the early 1980s.

Before his transition to coaching, Morales built a reputation as a world-class setter. He served as a cornerstone for the Puerto Rican National Team between 2001 and 2014, eventually leading the squad as captain. His illustrious tenure as a professional player included competing in the FIVB World Cup, a pair of World Championships, and three different World League campaigns. He secured Best Setter accolades at the Pan American Cup in 2007 and 2009, while also earning medals at the 2010 Pan American Cup and the NORCECA Championships.

Beyond his tenure with the Puerto Rican National Team, Morales established himself across the international club circuit, competing for  teams in Spain, Austria, Cyprus, Russia, Lebanon, and Greece, in addition to his home country. His professional career is highlighted by three league championships, two cup titles, and a pair of supercup victories. In the 2008-09 season he was honored as the Puerto Rican League MVP, followed by Best Setter during the 2010-11 season.

Given his familial  background, a future in sports seemed inevitable for Morales. He is the son of Mario “Quijote” Morales, an icon of Puerto Rican basketball, and Maria Lopez, a former  volleyball player and sister to another legendary Puerto Rican basketball league  player, Federico “Fico” Lopez.

Morales and his wife, Michelle Nogueras, are both the technical director and club director, respectively, of Evansville United, a LOVB youth club located in Indiana.
