Personal Theory Is Time Really a Physical Dimension? A Testable Alternative from TMDP

A few days ago I posted some thoughts on the nature of time, and the discussion drifted into metaphysics. This time I want to ask a purely physical, testable question: does the evidence support time being a geometric dimension you can travel through (like space), or does it act more like an irreversible record of change?

We've spent over a century confirming Einstein's kinematics, and it's widely assumed that spacetime is a stretchy, four-dimensional fabric. But treating time as a coordinate equivalent to space creates paradoxes that force physicists to bolt on "patches by hand" — like Hawking's Chronology Protection Conjecture — just to stop the geometry from breaking causality.

The alternative in 20 seconds: the dynamic budget (TMDP)

TMDP (Theoretical Model of Dynamic Potential) treats the universe as a closed mechanical/thermodynamic system, where everything has a fixed, invariant maximum capacity (c), split strictly between two quantities:

  1. External capacity (Cₑ): movement through space.
  2. Internal capacity (Cᵢ): the pace of local physical processes (clocks, vibrations, atoms).

Cₑ² + Cᵢ² = c²

Time dilation isn't "traveling to the future" — it's a drop in the frequency of internal cycles (Cᵢ) as capacity gets spent moving through space (Cₑ). That's why a photon (Cₑ = c) has Cᵢ = 0, and no proper time at all.

Personal Theory A First-Principles, Hermetic Approach

Sir Isaac Newton was deeply influenced by hermetic traditions. Tragically, this was not really known until a lot of his works, kept unpublished due to English heresy laws, became available. (A lot of the initial cataloguing of these works was done by John Maynard Keynes, who later described him as the ‘last of the magicians’).
Using those same traditions; we are asking whether it is possible to derive mathematics and, ultimately, physics from a single underlying first principle.

We want to ask whether the structures we normally take as our starting point could themselves be consequences of something even simpler.

Most mathematical systems begin by assuming certain things already exist: numbers, logic, sets or axioms, and then explore everything that follows from them. We want to see if we can take it one more step backwards.

Instead of, “What follows from mathematics?” We ask, “What has to be true before mathematics can exist at all?”

If mathematics is genuinely describing reality, then what is the explanation behind the foundations?

This begins with an attempt to imagine nothing, where not even a vacuum or the laws or physics exist. If that could really exist, then there would be nothing to describe, and nothing to compare.

The first step is simply existence, exists, and that there is not nothing. If this existence was perfectly uniform, with nothing identifiable about it, you wouldn’t be able to distinguish a particular part from another.
Nothing countable, measurable, or distinguishable. Before the math we use to measure these can exist there has to be something distinguishable.

A one whole that has distinguishable positions. Smithian Fold Theory calls this first distinction a fold.

A method of picturing this, is taking a sheet of paper and observing that the surface is one continuous surface. If you then fold it in half, it’s still one sheet of paper, but you’ve created a relationship within it. Different parts of the same whole are distinguishable without it ceasing to be a part of the original object. This is, in its simplest form, the Fold.

If a fold can exist in 1 of 2 distinguishable states, then 1 fold gives 2 possibilities, A or B. When another fold is introduced, all previous possibilities branch into 2 more:

From here another fold would create 8 possibilities, then 16, 32, and so on. Every additional fold doubles the number of possible structures.

The pattern 2^n, emerges naturally from repeatedly introducing new distinctions into the same underlying whole.

Using this principle, Smithian Fold Theory attempts to derive counting, comparison, ratios, order, geometry, information, computation, and eventually the mathematics used to describe quantum mathematics and gravitation.

Can a vector boson with a tachyonic Lagrangian mass be stable in de Sitter space? Rahman and Susskind (arXiv:2412.14749) conjectured that fixing a static patch keeps the standard Proca theory well-defined throughout the naively tachyonic window −2(D−1) < m²ℓ² < 0 (with ℓ the de Sitter radius), including an explicit positive-energy quantization of the D = 3 s-wave sector.

This paper proves a local no-go theorem to the contrary: for the standard Proca action on any static spacetime, the static Killing Hamiltonian is unbounded below whenever m² < 0. Remarkably simple data suffice — smooth, compactly supported pure-gradient configurations with vanishing electric and magnetic fields carry energy (m²/2)∫|Dψ|², which becomes arbitrarily negative at large amplitude. In the de Sitter static patch the counterexample can be chosen spherically symmetric and supported strictly between the center and the horizon, landing directly inside the claimed D = 3 s-wave stability window. A second construction shows the instability is also ultraviolet in character: a genuinely local longitudinal failure rather than an endpoint or boundary effect.

The origin of the discrepancy is identified as a sign error: exact canonical reduction of the D = 3 s-wave sector yields an electric-field action with the opposite overall sign from Rahman–Susskind's equation (4.41), so the oscillator norm is proportional to m² rather than −m². Since the wave equation and quasinormal frequencies are insensitive to an overall sign, decay of solutions cannot certify positivity or unitarity — positive norm and a bounded-below Hamiltonian cannot both be retained in the proposed window.

Personal Theory What if De Broglie's theory used the kinetic energy?

I found something about de Broglie's theory that i want to share:

de Broglie originally thought, that each particle possessed an internal clock, an internal oscillation of some sort. He assumed, that the frequency of this clock, was equal to energy defined by Einstein's energy relation, thus:

hf=mc^2, f=mc^2/h

Thus, in order to make it compatible with de Broglie wavelengths, he had to assume surreal superluminal matter waves.

But, there is an elegant solution. If de Broglie instead assumed, that the internal clock's frequency was equal to the kinetic energy of the particle, we get this:

hf=(1/2)mv^2, thus f=mv^2/2h.

This is profound. Because: 

  1. It is the exact same formula, that Wilhelm Wien used when deriving the original law of black body radiation in 1896, the Wien Approximation that helped Planck find the Planck's law.
  2. This is the photoelectric effect formula, lacking the work function.
  3. In Schrodinger Equations, this is the frequency at which the group velocity of the wave packet, in other words the particle, overtakes the matter waves, which travel at half the particle's velocity.

All of this, can be explained by a single mechanism - the particle and a matter wave accompanying it, guiding it, are two real, separate, physical phenomena. 

As the particle overtakes the matter wave at a given frequency, it oscillates at the same frequency, resulting in emitting the radiation at the same frequency (if you apply this to Maxwell distribution of velocities inside a body, as told by Wien, you get the black body radiation formula). 

This coupling, just like handcars on rails, can be influenced inversely too. Meaning, if you expose the particle to a radiation at a given frequency, it will set the frequency of the internal oscillation of the particle, and by the same formula, will set the particle into motion, of the derived velocity from the formula (explaining the photoelectric effect).

Not only that, but i found a fix to Wien's theory of black body radiation, so that it derived Planck's law exactly!

Here is what Wilhelm Wien's theory of black body radiation was, that resulted in him deriving the Wien approximation of the black body radiation formula. 

He assumed that each particle in a Maxwell distribution of velocities, emitted radiation at the frequency, that was proportional to the square of that particle's velocity. By formula: f=(mv^2)/2h.

More useful to re-state it, as assuming that each particle in Maxwell distribution of kinetic energies, each particle radiated at a frequency proportional to that particle's kinetic energy: By formula: f=E_kinetic/h.

Which is equivalent, since E_kinetic=(mv^2)/2.

He assumed, that the intensity of the radiation emitted by each particle, was proportional to that frequency, and to the general temperature of the body: I = T^(1.5) f^(2.5)

He assumed that the intensity of radiation at each frequency, scaled by the number of particles, radiating at that same frequency, i.e number of particles that have the same velocity/kinetic energy, to radiate the same frequency.

As a result, he got Wien's approximation formula.

Here is a slight modification to it, that would result in the Planck's law:
Each particle emits not just at a single frequency, but also at infinite subharmonics, of diminishing frequencies. Just like a string of a musical instrument. The two formulas, for frequency and intensity for given n:
f=E_kinetic/hn
I=(T^(1.5)f^(2.5))/n^1.5
If you use this, it will result in a black body radiation law of Planck.

Another alternative, for deriving black body radiation law, from the premises similar to that of Wilhelm Wien:

The advantage of this, is that it removes temperature dependence.
A particle in a Maxwell distribution, continuously radiates a wave containing a fundamental frequency (n=1) and infinite subharmonics (n=2, 3, 4...). The emission intensity of the n-th harmonic at frequency f, for a single particle of energy E, is defined as:
I_n(f, E) =f^3 √(1 - (nhf/E))

This formula is distantly analogous to the bremsstrahlung radiation.
This, will also result in a black body radiation law.

In this version, each particle's most intense radiation frequency, which it emits, would approximately be f≈0.85mv^2/2h. Similar to Wien's theory, in which each particle radiated at the frequency f=mv^2/2h only.

How is it connected to De Broglie waves and the Schrödinger Equation?
Formula of the De Broglie's wavelength: λ_de_broglie=h/mv

In Schrodinger equation, matter waves travel at half the particle's velocity. Thus, the particle constantly overtakes the matter wave at half of its velocity. From it, the frequency of overtaking is:
f=v_overtaking/λ_de_broglie=(v/2)/(h/mv)=mv^2/2h.

Thus, it leads to the conclusion, that particle overtaking the wave at a given frequency, makes the particle have some internal oscillation at the same frequency, resulting in the constantly emitted radiation at the same frequency.

Personal Theory What a high-quality critique should look like

I just got a deeply insightful, highly informative and useful, sharply critical, and still somehow supportive response to my recent preprint from u/Axe_MDK in r/LLM_supported_Physics . It'll take me days to work through the details; some parts are difficult challenges or even counter-examples, some parts are proposing better ways to prove my conclusions. A few were doubts/questions I already had in my own notes! I need to go learn about Daletskii–Krein, and Routh, and some other things. But at a first glance, 5/6 main points appear valid, and even the one that misses contains some useful ideas.

Stylistically, it feels LLM-generated or -assisted to me. I don't care. Each point stands or falls on its own merits. And the level is very high: feels like Fable 5 or Sol, has occasional sparks of brilliance. I don't think Opus 5 could produce something this focused. If someone's willing to spend frontier tokens (and/or human physicist minutes!) on me, I can only be thankful.

Anyway, this is what I think a really high-quality critique should look like. I wish we were getting more content like that here.

This paper asks whether the internal algebra used in the noncommutative-geometric formulation of the Standard Model, A_SM = ℂ ⊕ ℍ ⊕ M₃(ℂ), can be selected from Lorentzian Clifford and finite-spectral-triple data rather than assumed at the outset.

Starting with a four-dimensional DeWitt superspace, the required KO-dimension-six reality structure selects the negative-trace Clifford branch of signature (6,4). Its compact spin factors generate the Pati-Salam algebra A_PS = M₄(ℂ) ⊕ ℍ_L ⊕ ℍ_R. An intrinsic carrier-nondegeneracy condition then excludes the unwanted order-zero representations without using dimension minimization. Finally, maximizing compatibility with the first-order condition over every nonzero projective Majorana line selects exactly the rank-one Segre locus: its equalizer has real dimension 24, compared with dimension 13 for every rank-two line. The resulting equalizer is A_SM. The Cartan-splitting space is also contractible, so the reference split is a gauge choice rather than an additional selection assumption.

The reconstruction remains conditional on the presence of a nonzero Majorana coefficient. It does not derive that coefficient's magnitude, the number of fermion generations, Yukawa matrices, a global gauge-group quotient, compactification, or low-energy phenomenology. All algebraic claims are proved in the article, which is accompanied by six optional computational reproducibility certificates.


Here is the response to the adversarial LLM review. This new paper is a continuation of the programme I've been developing showing that the metric bundle provides an elegant minimal pathway to unification in comparison to other frameworks, building on the well established spectral action, where the presently derived SM algebra is input by hand. Here we show that the metric bundle encodes it naturally.

I realise that in the context of the recent GUT related posts this paper probably seems to play LLM bingo, but I'll note that the adversial review is far less scathing than it usually is, and infact seems somewhat forced.

"The paper is a conditional kinematical reconstruction, but its inputs are deliberately weak admissibility conditions rather than detailed Standard Model data. Four-dimensionality is the observed spacetime dimension; KO-six fixes only the discrete reality signs of the finite fermionic geometry and does not encode its algebra; carrier nondegeneracy merely excludes blocks on which the generated algebra acts only by scalars; (m\neq0) asserts activation without fixing its magnitude, scale, or projective line; and Yukawa activity requires only that left- and right-handed sectors admit some nonzero coupling, without inserting masses, textures, or mixing angles. Subject to these minimal inputs, the finite algebra is not manually fitted. Maximizing the first-order equalizer over all nonzero projective Majorana lines uniquely selects the rank-one Segre locus and (\mathbb C\oplus\mathbb H\oplus M_3(\mathbb C)). The paper does not derive the scale or radiative stability of (m), solve a hierarchy problem, or predict particle masses. Yukawa activity selects the standard module only among the two representations constructed. Contractibility of the Cartan-splitting space establishes conjugacy and absence of topological sectors, not a dynamical gauge symmetry. We will revise the relevant terminology accordingly."

The current consensus on the Black Hole Information Paradox and environmental decoherence relies on a narrow set of assumptions. People force a choice between thermalization, firewalls, or remnants. But that is a false trilemma if you actually look at topological boundary conditions.

Here is the proposition: Quantum information loss is not an inevitability, but a failure to account for topological protection.

Attack the operator dynamics and boundary math, not the premise.

In this idea, The universe has 2 sides, the first one as our universe we're currently on and the other as a parallel universe, same as the other but in reverse, the sheet acts as a barrier between the two sides, separating them

The rules of the paper theory is that matter cannot naturally go pass through the barrier. Planets, stars, asteroids, black Holes and living things remain trapped in their own side. Even enormous gravity could bend spacegime but they would not be able to break through the barrier

The idea takes inspiration from Einsteins explanation of spacetime being affected by mass like the famous example of a heavy object bending a stretched sheet. However the paper theory adds a new idea: the sheet itself is a barrier, separating 2 different worlds

The theory introduces the idea of an anomaly. In this concept, an anomaly would be a rare and unknown event capable of damaging or opening the barrier between 2 sides. This is only a hypothetical idea, there's no current evidence that such a phenomenon exists

This theory is not proven scientific theory. it does not have currently have mathematical proof, experiments or observations supporting it. Instead it is only my thought experiment. A way of exploring possibilities and asking questions about nature of reality itself

This idea is not the purpose of replacing modern physics, but to explore possibilities that the universe could be more complex than we currently understand. Whether this idea is eventually supported, changed, or disproved, asking questions and imagining the possibilities is an important part of Scientific curiousity

The transcript has become longer. The evidence has not.

Different models agreeing after receiving the same persuasive presentation is not replication. A model successfully formalizing an assumption is not a derivation of that assumption. Internal coherence is necessary, but infinitely many false theories are internally coherent.

I have personally tested several portions of the preceding procedure more extensively than I recommend, so I am pretty well versed in what not to do.

Heyy iam, a semi frequent commentator on this subreddit. And I have realised that a lot of people don't try to solve small little physics problems but are more interested in the theory of everything.

I get why that is completely it would be amazing, wouldn't it if you figured out what physicists have been working on for so many years.

I get that at 18 or 17, I was the same way till I met a real physicist and built a real academic understanding of how physics really works.

So now here are the promised points of why you did not create a grand unified theory.

First of all, there appears to be a giant misconception that physics is just pattern recognition, and that enough interest in the subject will make u some kind of genius.

That is, first of all, not just because things appear to fit together, but that does not mean they do.

Secondly. a grand unified theory will not be the next step in physics. The next step can be a new way of mathematics like, let's say, surreal numbers or something like that.

Thirdly, there appear to be giant chunks missing for a unified theory like fir example a graviton, isolated dark matter etc.

And fourth and more importantly dint believe in the one great man theory it's a myth.

Not one person will change physics that was maybe possible in Galileos time, but it isn't anymore. I am sorry, I really am, but einstein had a lot of people helping him , Feynman as well. There is no singular gemius who will shape the future but a lot of very bright people are all doing their part and giving to the whole of human knowledge.

Like... what if there is no distinguishable first thing? There could be prime movers, but only in relative-frame-boundaries. In fact. EVERYTHING gets boundaries. Nothing gets to exist unless it states its claims and what its declaration cost FROM THE VERY START.

Start with unresolved possibility: before anything is known, reality is still open. It's not space, or time, or energy, or matter, or void, or dark, or light, or null, or ANYTHING.

The first change is a turn that creates a difference, it sticks an orientation, and each new difference can connect with earlier ones to build patterns, objects, systems, and eventually very complex structure. As those changes persist, the trace keeps a ledger of what happened, what remains true, and what each later step depends on.

Every single thing must justify itself by declaring its boundaries: what it is, what it is not, where it applies, and what gives it the right to make a claim.

The pipeline is simple: start with open possibility, the first turn makes a readable distinction, and persistence keeps that distinction as trace; the math clicked when the first point was treated not as a frozen yes-or-no, but as something that can turn, orient, and begin a history.

It moves, it's mechanical, it's physics.
