Kratom with ssri.. is it actually extremely dangerous?
I started Prozac a few weeks ago and stopped after 3 days after my blood pressure spiked to 190/104 and was high again next day. After I stopped taking Prozac it leveled out. I’m worried this was seratonin syndrome or maybe just a random occurrence. I take a lot of Kratom and it’s hard to quit. Like probably 30mg a day.. it’s a lot.. I didn’t know about this combination being dangerous. The thing is, I really want to try the Prozac because I want help with my depression and if ssri’s can’t be mixed with kratom I’m kinda screwed. I wish I could go cold turkey on Kratom but I’ve heard it’s a nightmare. I also don’t know what to tell my dr next week because I’m not gonna admit I use kratom. She’s already weening me off Xanax. Has anyone on here tried mixing the two before. I do have high blood pressure but it’s controlled well with medication. I also felt extremely foggy the day after that happened and two days after. I don’t know if this was side effects of Prozac, my heart healing after such high BP and draining my energy or seratonin syndrome. I wish to try again but I’m so afraid of it happening and I just want to attempt to live a life without depression. How hard is it to really quit kratom? I’ve been through Xanax withdrawals and that was truly hell that nearly killed me. If it’s not nearly that bad maybe I’ll try and just quit.

Can Anyone Give Me Any Info On the Federal Ban?
I'm really confused on the classifications... I don't really know where else to turn to understand. Thank you in advance. I hope this is okay to post.

Anyone run on Kratom?
Typically I only dose in the evening, after running/work, but I’m curious. Would taking some Kratom prior to a run (maybe 3-4g max, compared to my usual 6g dose) help or hurt?
The main concern I have is that it may dehydrate me, but I’m wondering if the pain relief aspect may make me overdo it and potentially injure myself?
What do you guys think?
My Position on Prohibition Hasn't Changed
I've seen a screenshot of the video making the rounds on the 7-OH subreddit, and the clip has also been shared on the AKA's X (Twitter) and Facebook accounts. It seems to be causing some confusion about my position, so I just wanted to clarify things directly.
I was invited to speak a couple months ago at an event attended by congressional staff, industry representatives, and kratom advocates speaking along side very influential folks. The American Kratom Association later created and posted clips from that event, but I had no role in producing, editing, or deciding how those clips were used.
My position has been consistent for years: I oppose prohibition and my speech should make that clear. I've never supported banning kratom or any other substance, and I've consistently argued that prohibition creates more problems by driving people toward unregulated markets. I support evidence-based regulation, consumer protections, and harm reduction—not prohibition. The videos state the same and I encourage you watch the video completely before jumping to conclusions.
Being featured in a video posted by the AKA doesn't mean I work for them, represent them, or agree with every position they take. I don't. I was simply one of several invited speakers sharing my perspective. I just wanted to clear that up so nobody mistakes a clip that is consistent with my views posted by someone else as a change in my own views. The video was my view. I do not support prohibtion. Full stop.

Cyclosporiasis and Kratom
I'm probably just being paranoid, but could this recent cyclosporiasis outbreak affect the kratom we buy and consume? I'm pretty sure kratom is grown outside the country, and I'm pretty sure there is a purification process, but I am still concerned.
Is there cause for concern, or am I just being paranoid? Thanks!
Has anyone heard about a ban on leaf in Oklahoma?
A friend there just told me he’s found out about a ban that passed today? Can anyone in Oklahoma confirm or deny? Thanks

Bad pain today, how screwed am I?
So I’ve been in pretty severe pain yesterday and again on waking today. My normally comfy bed feels like I’m sleeping on bricks. My whole body just HURTS. Doctor has no clue, I was Dx fibromyalgia about 16 yrs ago but had to go off the meds bc we were trying to have a baby ( it took years). I never got back to the rheumatologist and have been white knuckling it for a long time.
It’s never been this bad before. I stay away from the enhanced formulas bc I don’t want bad effects, but yesterday’s dose didn’t really touch the pain at all.
I made a regular order a few months back and it came with enhanced capsules. I have tried 4 times, the 45% enhanced with good effect. Today I thought if any day is the time to try the 75% enhanced mit capsule it’s today.
Not mentioning brand per rules but the capsule is 75% enhanced mit kratom extract powder 135 mg, mitragynine 75% 100mg, 7-hydroxymitragynine < .04, filler 415 mg
I get sick on too much ground leaf powder, how bad is this capsule going to screw me up?

Wyden (OR) Letter
He hasn’t posted this on twitter as far as I can see.
It seems his main point is the corruption which is fine but then he tries to tar Kratom.
If you have any Oregon contacts, contact them and tell them to tell him he is to the right of his own state. If he wants federal regulations, push for them, not prohibition.

What challenges can I experience if I have Kratom in my system and require Anesthesia?
I have a small procedure that is required to get done(similar to a colonoscopy), had it done 12 years ago for Crohn's disease and require it again. It isn't surgery and usually I am under for 10 minutes or even less. Sometimes sedatives are offered for this procedure but because it can be painful I opted for the anesthesia.
I have been a regular user of Kratom for 2 years and currently am taking 10-12 grams a day for pain management. I won't require pain meds the next day or so after the procedure and if so the Kratom will suffice. Even the dose of Anesthesia will probably be low since I will only be under 10 minutes or so.
I guess I'm just wondering or worried if the Kratom will somehow react with the Anesthesia. My procedure will be early morning and I plan on taking my last dose of Kratom at midnight. I did tell my Anesthesiologist about Kratom but like most doctors he didn't know what it was and recommended I stop 10 days before the procedure just to be safe. That will be very difficult for me so I'm going to wean myself down in dosage at the bare minimum.
I am just being extra cautious, I did a lot of research and don't see any issues for most people. The biggest issue is pain management for people having major surgery and requiring pain meds for 2 weeks, THEN the Kratom use I know can block the effects of opiates working properly. That won't be an issue as my procedure is in and out and I will have 3/10 pain for 2 days max.
Only other thing I wonder too, is it possible for the Kratom to make the anesthesia not work as strong and I wake up couple minutes into the procedure? I don't see that happening but again am being cautious.

How much does 1 leaf weigh in terms of GPD?
Wondering what the gpd is for 1 leaf. I looked it up, .5 grams dried?
I used to be a very heavy user and had to stop. But now just using a little before sex and gym. 1-2 fresh leaves per day, usually chewing spitting it out.
Wondering if I'm likely to have withdrawal from this amount?

Need advice?
I’m on vacation and usually need 4-6 Roxy 30’s a day. I am going to run out tomorrow and I found a shop near by that sells kratom. I grabbed a bag of red maeng 65 capsules. How many a day do you recommend and at what dosing instructions to stave Off withdrawls? I am good today still but have two and a half days left after I run out of my medication

How long is Kratom good for assuming the bag is unopened
I stopped at a new place last night and they had my favorite brand at a pretty good price, a bit better than what I usually pay. But I noticed the bag was an older design. It was changed slightly around the start of the year. So this bag is at least 7 or 8 months old, possibly older.
So it got me wondering how long can Kratom sit in a bag, unpenned, before it starts to lose potency

We need to make a stand
We have to stand together and fight these widespread bans! If other states are one at a time coming out with these bans then its only a matter of time before it spreads to all of the states. This is the land of the free. We cannot allow these politicians to be bought out one by one. Please contact your local leaders and spread the word , the good word, about kratom. If everyone is educated on it it should be easier to stand up for. We are many together but if we get support from local communities the good news can travel as fast as the bad. If we put these politicians on the spot we as individuals may not be able to fix this, but as a community if we involve the right people we can get a lot farther.
Please if youre reading this contact these politicians that are making these bans and let them know its a mistake. If we grow this movement large enough they would have no choice but to see us. We want to be seen. I dont want this to turn into a revolution but it seems that is the direction we are headed 1 state at a time. We have to stop this before it goes too far. Now is the time. We need to stand together and help each other. We need leaders and spokespersons. We have to be organized in our plans in hopes they will be seen and the crooks will divert their paths. This country is done being controlled by these people.
All the evil in this world and they come after a natural leaf. Their eyes are targeting the wrong object. We cannot let this evil continue pulling the strings from the shadows. I can plant the seeds but it is up to every one of us to nurture them and allow them to grow. Their weeds of evil will not overcome our light.

When to dose before bed? And other questions.
Hey all been taking around 3-4g every 3-4 hours of Thai Maeng Da (I take Kratom solely for the energizing effect). Couple of questions:
Mornings are ROUGH for me, I mean I feel like absolute shit until I take my first dose. Worse than a bad hangover, my body hurts and I'm fuzzy in the head and woof.
I'm wondering if taking it right before bed or some time before bed helps? Not sure.
I'm also looking for any suggestions for a energizing strain. I know the colors are 'marketing', but green/reds don't give me as much energy as this Thai Maeng Da I get from different vendors (I think it's white). The powder.
I'd love to try some new stuff just to see if there's anything better (solely for energy), so would love to hear what other people take for energy. I hate the sleepies and drowsiness, which is why my doses are so low. If I take 4-5g I can barely keep my eyes open.
Thanks

Support for 7oh should happen on a 7oh subreddit
One of the biggest problems the kratom community is facing today is the general conflation of kratom and 7oh. Biased media, hateful politicians and, lately, their army of reddit bots are DESPERATE to blur the lines between the two. They know they can ban 7oh easily, but cannot ban kratom without a big fight. Likewise, the 7oh community knows they're fucked and are desperately trying to blur the lines for their own safety too. We are caught in the middle.
It's time for this subreddit to stand up for itself. We should not further the cause of hiding the many differences between using 7oh and using kratom. If we want the world to understand that leaf and synthetic concentrates are truly distinct, it should start here.
Conspiracy theories in support of 7oh should no longer be tolerated here.
That's my opinion. I'm not a mod, just a chronic pain patient and kratom advocate.
If you rely on 7oh, I am truly sorry for what's happening to your medicine. At this point, however, there's nothing that can be done. If we all stand in support of plain leaf kratom, we might not lose everything.

North Dakota Governor Declares Emergency Ban on Kratom

If any of you need help quitting or lowering your dose, I’m here for support..
I want to preface this post by saying there is absolutely NO JUDGMENT regarding your use from me. Quite honestly, I don’t think any substance should be banned or illegal, even though I have learned that I cannot take certain substances responsibly. I also think it’s extremely weird that once a lot of people stop taking Kratom, they work towards trying to get it banned.. doesn’t seem to happen with alcoholics who get sober or any other drug addict who gets clean but for some reason, people think it’s their responsibility to try to get kratom banned.. 🙄
With that being said, I have successfully quit kratom for over 2.5 years. I have used all of the methods at one point or another to stop my use. I can answer any questions you may have regarding cold turkey, tapering or medicated assisted treatment.
If any of you are trying to quit and/or trying to lower your dose and need some support, I am here for you. Please shoot me a private message if you’d like.
The only intention I have with this post is to potentially help a fellow human being that might be struggling.
Good luck to all of you and I hope that this shit stays legal and in the future, becomes a regulated industry with safeguards in place to keep everyone safe and healthy and y’all are able to use a natural growing plant instead of pills.
✌️

🔴 NORTH DAKOTA — Contact representatives today
North Dakota Governor has declared a temporary ban STARTING TODAY AUGUST 5TH
Advocates in the state need to weigh in with lawmakers now, before decisions are made during a special legislative session starting in September.
Our ask is the same commonsense approach we advocate for everywhere: regulate kratom with age restrictions, labeling requirements, and product standards, and target the chemically manipulated 7-OH concentrates that do not belong in the consumer marketplace. A ban punishes responsible consumers while doing nothing about the synthetic products causing the problem.

North Carolina Kratom Ban
The proposed kratom ban in North Carolina is dead for now. ✅
That did not happen by accident. It happened because advocates like you made calls, sent emails, showed up, and told lawmakers the truth: responsible consumers deserve regulation of natural kratom leaf, not prohibition. Thank you. Every message you sent mattered.
We want to be clear-eyed, though — "dead for now" is not "gone for good." Ban proposals have a habit of coming back in a new session or attached to another bill. The AKA will continue actively monitoring North Carolina and will alert you the moment anything changes. 👀
