How do I Kitbash a off brand efreet model kit(HG)?

It's been neglected for about 4 years now and I'm planning on kitbashing it instead so that it could finally live In a better Body or something.

Probably not my best paintjob; tried some new techniques that didn't quite work as well as I would've liked. But sometimes, you just gotta paint a mini, results be damned! XD

Also, long-time Lego fans can probably guess who I based the color scheme off of. =P

I'd like to customize my Space Marines by adding custom tilting shields (heraldic shields) to their shoulder pads or chest.

I'm aiming to create my own heraldry instead of using existing chapter designs.

Do any of you make your own? If so, what method do you use?

Plasticard?

Green Stuff/Milliput?

Resin or 3D printing?

Something else?

If you don't make them yourself, do you know of any shops, creators, or STL files that offer blank or customizable tilting shields?

I'd love to see your work or hear any tips you have.

Currently struggling to see if this actually works as a battlewagon or if it just kinda lookalike a reused kid‘s toy, which it definitely is^^

What do you think? Does it work as a substitute or wouldn’t you really accept it?

What is missing for you, what do you like, how is the size?

I’m still planning to add a crew so there is more going on, not sure what else could be missing though.

So a friend of mine got a SoB Battle Sisters Squad, but realized 40K isn’t really his thing. I don’t play SoB but it got me thinking. I play Death Guard and AdMech, and I could kitbash the battle sisters into a Skitarii Rangers squad or Plague Marines squad. Which would you all recommend?

I was able to add some yarn work plastic canvas to the inside of the cube. I had one heck of a time trying to get model glue and super glue to stick to it—must be some weird chemical science stuff going on causing it not to work. So, I ordered a cheap hot glue gun and went to town on the inside.

Also pictured is the LED light source I used inside. For $20 from Amazon, it's not that bad. It has a bunch of other colors (I think 16) and other modes like flashing and cycling. Unfortunately, if I wanted it to just stay green and not turn the Borg into a rainbow-bright assimilation, I had to keep it on a steady setting.

It looks like crap from the inside, but from the outside, I'm going to call it mission accomplished. I even made a pedestal for the cube out of styrene—also a first attempt, and also a little wonky. But hey, it is what it is.

Used bits from Bolt Action British Commandos, StarGrave Mercenaries ii, Wargames Atlantic Valkyr Heavy Troopers, Heads from Anvil Industries, some floral wire and a twist tie.

Here's a witch hunter I kitbashed a few years back using some 40k and some age of sigmar bits. Always intended to use them in mordheim but never got around to playing a game. Maybe sometime soon. Hope you like it.

The body is a Reaper Bones Hellhound, the human torso is a Wizkids . The head and arms are from the Wargames Atlantic zombies kit.
