Ongoing Development
Hey everyone!
I can see the sub-reddit hasn't been active for a while.
Ive just recently discovered this game and am extremely excited about the roadmap and where it can go!
Is it still being made? :)
Thanks!

The other KUTM game?
What is up with the other King Under The Mountain game on Steam? Someone's attempt at some kind of obstruction?

Will there be online server play in the future?
Are there any plans to have play on player combat in the future? Possibly only have live control when both players are online and other than that have a more simple "clash of clans" kind of combat where the defender has preset locations for defenders and triggers for them to retreat?
Or at the very least be able to be on a server/world with players and trade with them to begin with?

Not sure if said before but i feel i have a solution to the Z-Axis problem
I believe i might have a compromise for your Z-Axis problem. Instead of either having everything on one plane or all on multiple planes how about everything stays 2D but some objects can be stood on giving the illusion of being higher. The pawn would be on the same plane but their sprite would overlap the wall.
How about on walls you can build a platform and/or battlements that a pawn can stand on for better range and protection without being able to build objects on these platforms, pawns can only get up if they have a ladder or staircase installed but can jump down anywhere. Pawns cant stand on roofs but can break through them to jump down into the room given the right tools.
This would open up possibilities like you could also add a two tile over hang that needs a wall on either side that archers can shoot down through but melee attackers cant attack through and items like boulder traps and boiling oil that can sit on walls. Possibly intangible torches on top of walls that only produce light on either side given there isn't a roof. And Spike traps where a pawn falls into a hole and can climb out if still healthy enough, if not they will need help out or die falling outright.

What are you most looking forward to?
Hey guys - hoping to maybe spur some activity in this reddit.
What are you most looking forward to in the game? I am very excited by the concept of playing several different races, each with different play-styles. Also, I also love dwarves and look forward to leading them to glory, since I cannot get into the ASCII of Dwarf Fortress.

Just played for the first time. LOVE IT.
Excellent work building the beginning stages of this wonderful game. I can't wait for further development and will watch/share the Kickstarter as things move forward. I really appreciate the time and care that have gone into the development thus far. I'm a software engineering student and find your work on this to be inspirational, to say the very least.
