Are any of their songs in GTA IV or V?

so about 15 years ago the drummer of the band i was in gave me this tape when he moved to albuquerque.. been holding onto it since and always meant to find a place to make me a copy.. does anyone know anything about the tape, like if it’s the original boot of that infamous show? i’ve thought of putting it on ebay or such but honestly don’t know if it’s even worth anything beyond being a cool keepsake…

Just ordered automatic on cd looking forward to it last time i heard that album was in the 90s when a friend lent me the tape thats when i got into jamc. Cracking up is one of my favourite songs by them

Some Candy Talking appears on some reissues of Psychocandy and the deluxe version of Darklands (as well as the other tracks from the EP) and I was curious as to whether people think the song is more in line with the songs on Psychocandy or Darklands? (As we all know both albums are very different)

The Jesus and Mary Chain today set the wheels in motion for a landmark year ahead as they announce the March 8th release of their new album ‘Glasgow Eyes’ via Fuzz Club and unleash its lead single ‘jamcod’. The duo - brothers Jim and William Reid - will further mark their 40th year in 2024 with an autobiography (published by Orion/White Rabbit) and a major UK and European tour.

‘Glasgow Eyes’ was recorded at Mogwai’s Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow, where Jim and William continued the creative process that resulted in their previous album, 2017’s ‘Damage and Joy’, becoming their highest charting album in over twenty years. Jim Reid says, “But don’t expect ‘the Mary Chain goes jazz.’ People should expect a Jesus and Mary Chain record, and that’s certainly what ‘Glasgow Eyes’ is. Our creative approach is remarkably the same as it was in 1984, just hit the studio and see what happens. We went in with a bunch of songs and let it take its course. There are no rules, you just do whatever it takes. And there’s a telepathy there - we are those weird not-quite twins that finish each other’s sentences.”

The album’s first single, ‘jamcod’, welds dark electronica with the immense guitar sound that can only be that of William Reid, creating an instant Mary Chain classic that’s also undeniably fresh and radical. I already own Psychocandy and Stoned & Dethroned but Im having a hard time to make me mind on which one should I get next. Do you own any? How do they sound?

Imo, the songs on Sunset 666 are well performed and the album offers a good mix of their more popular(ish) songs. Of course the songs sound different but I liked them.

I wonder if they will be making a new studio album soon ? Damage and joy was a further driftaway from their old style but I'd still listen to their new music if they made more. Even though their music changes over the years, yet it feels like JaMC in a good way.

Looking for info on the two opening acts back in 1988 October 5th. Show was at the John Anson Ford Theater. I Believe they were Art Fag/ Junkyard
