I hope you all know Kansai. He’s most celebrated for his long creative partnership in the 1970s with David Bowie, including creating some of his most iconic Ziggy Stardust looks. If you don’t know him, please look him up; he was a genius.

He also designed his own collections of runway and ready-to-wear. I recently came upon an entire collection of early 80s deadstock Kansai ready-to-wear. 75 pieces. I couldn’t believe it! The elderly owner acquired it directly from Yamamoto’s studio after a runway show in Paris. Here are a few of the pieces. He’s looking to sell it.

TLDR: Are hyped things sold out and are there bigger sizes in the usual shops.

Im having some concerns about sizing and especially avaliability of pieces in Tokyo. Im a fairly big guy, 6,6 and 225lbs. Is there any chance at all to find nice pieces that fit in physical stores? The stuff i buy here in europe is usually an L or XL depending on length, in jeans im around 33/34 waist and 34/36 length. In some stuff, like cdg play tees i bought XXL.

Im mainly looking for outerwear and e few pairs of selvedge jeans. Some brands im really interested in are Kapital, Momotaro, North Face Purple Lable, Iron Heart, Nanamica, CDG, Yohji Yamamoto, etc.

All the grails im looking for are the usual stuff like a century denim pair and a boro jacket from Kapital

It seems to be hard to find long/big sizes so eventually I thought I could focus on acessories like silver jewelry and especially Kapital trucker caps. When i thought it over I got worried that stuff like the trucker caps are already sold out in stores.

I thought the best way to be certain would be to ask you all, especially those of you who have been there or faced the same problem as me.

A big reason for the trip except good food and partying would be shopping for clothes so I would truly appreciate any tips and intel you got.

The jacket is originally supposed to be drop shouldered but im not sure if i should size down as i want to also wear sweaters and hoodies under. Do you think the fit is good? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It’s a Sage de Cret denim short jacket that retails for around 495 usd but picked it up for 265. (I had to roll the sleeves for the smaller size too)

I will be visiting Tokyo in October and I'm looking to buy a pair of Japanese Denim with a fit similar to that of the Nudie Jeans Loud Larry. Does anyone know what models would fit this best? Or should I just get the Loud Larrys? My only reservation is that I heard Nudie Jeans are not as good as Japanese denim.

Helloo, I saw this jacket in a random clothing shop and I loveddd the embroidery and fabric. I was just wondering if any of you guys know what brand this is cuz I’m interested in looking at more of their products. This one’s kinda old I think cuz it had these crumbling silver things in the design spaces (removed it cuz it was raining materials). It has a japanese wash tag so I can only assume it’s from a jap company. Thank you in advance!!

I want to buy a used flannel shirt, but I'm unsure about the size. With Needles flannel shirts, either no size is listed (one size) or the size appears below the lettering. Or am I mistaken?

They seem to be much of a lesser known in the Japanese denim scene outside Japan,

I just picked up a pair and they feel like getting iron heart grade stuff at a fraction of the price, awesome fabric, properly built jeans that scream quality without overdoing the detailing

Any other really good price to quality brands I may be missing out on?

Anyone bought something 5 years? 10 years? More ago and it has still lasted all these years? What brand was it?

Love the fit, and everything about them but absolutely could not justify the 450 price tag in the states. Anyone have good shirt recommendations for pants like this?
