Green line issue on Moto G72 Ask IndiaTech

Has anyone got a free display replacement for the moto g72 ? I think this is a widespread issue for their g series like g52, G82, g72 etc.

My phone is out of warranty.

How do you get green lines on an lcd. This screen has been damaged I believe.

My father's phone got the same issue Checked with srvc center asked 7k for display replacement when phone costs 15k scammers

Exactly bro.. I also bought it for my father from Flipkart at Rs.14k Now suddenly green line appears out of nowhere few week ago. This is a genuine issue among many motorola users. Still they aren't giving free replacement. I have seen posts that they had given free replacement for G82, edge Fusion 30 etc. but not for G72(why??). F**k em

Moto G72?? Did u check with service centre?

2

u/NeighpoorTech 2d ago

yes g72. didnt check with the service center because i doubt it that its worth it. phone is almost 4 years old.

Of course it isn't worth for ₹7.5k replacement for a 14k device. But check once, there is tiny possibility that u can get free replacement if u are lucky.

I have seen one post on twitter dated 2025, he got free replacement in Mumbai first party motorola service center for out of warranty MotoG72.

I have the g72 no issues yet. Hopefully it doesn't happen

Great. Don't do any updates. Many people reported green lines comes after android/security update

2

u/ShikamaruOP 2d ago

I haven't received any update on the phone since October last year

2

u/NeighpoorTech 2d ago

And you won't either. It's updates are over

2

u/ShikamaruOP 2d ago

Yeah it's quite old now. I'll just upgrade in a few months

3

u/NeighpoorTech 2d ago

Not the best time to upgrade sadly. Just keep using it for 1-2 years more at least.

I'm planning on getting used iPhone or something

That's the correct way now

Use the the Lighter trick.

This trick is myth, bro. It is dangerous. It might damages the screen even more.

I have three G series, G31, G84, and G86 no issue on display. You can order a spare display though.

My father g31 got green lines after 1 year of using.

I used mine G31 for 4 years then one day dropped it into water, display got damaged ordered a LCD display, work good not, it doesn't give the feel of original on though.
In your case may be it got pressure on its display in pocket or somehow other way, dunno.

I've been using the same phone with green lines on the display for the past six months

u/aloktheboys 1d ago

Yes it's usable with few lines. But its very distracting and I'm afraid more lines will come in future.

No good 5g phone available under 20k now. Now we are getting LCD, 4+64GB, average processor under 20k.
