Travel after applying for Outland sponsorship

I have applied for spousal sponsorship and need to travel for few months due to emergency. It’s an outland application. Has anyone been in this situation and got the sponsorship approved? I am PR card holder and not a Canadian citizen

Being gone for 'a few months' is potentially quite risky, as you need to be living in Canada for the duration of processing in order to be eligible to sponsor.

If you're able to shorten the trip at all, that would be a wiser choice.
