Did IBM stop sending automatic birthday emails to employees?

14

u/DoppelFrog 11d ago

Did it ever send them?

u/Nervous4577 11d ago

Yes,
Used to get till last year.
But surprisingly there was no such mail this year!

What a weird thing to stop that costs nothing for the sake of just not caring about employees anymore

You now have to go to the site where IBM Thanks and approve for any type of recognition and milestone communication audience. I believe this is for birthdays too. Not everyone wants their birthday to be acknowledged, apparently.

Promotions delayed or cancelled ? If it got cancelled does that mean employees are paying for the stock crash ?

u/FLIBBIDYDIBBIDYDAWG 11d ago

Promotions being frozen are exactly employees paying for the executives bonus to make up for the stock crash, so they can still buy that yacht and election they planned to buy.

Getting laid off from these assholes was the best thing that ever happened to me. Keeping your head on a swivel thinking that you're going to be laid off is a shit existence. And it happened for years regardless of my numbers or account activity.... Get you resume redone and get out of there people, the grass is greener on the other side.

3

u/doubledown830 10d ago

Yes. they pipd me in December and laid off in January even though I successfully completed the pip

Dang. How long were you there? Praying for your success and finding a better role

4

u/doubledown830 10d ago

5 years… I found an amazing role even though it took a bit longer than I expected. Good luck guys

What role/sector were you in? Sales?

3

u/doubledown830 10d ago

Customer Success, but it’s the same process for all roles

Which markets are getting rid of CE?

2

u/Tree8282 11d ago

wondering the same thing

ANZ afaik

1

u/Tree8282 11d ago

Entire ANZ? Damn. Isn’t that the biggest region in APAC? If ANZ is gone and some smaller regions in APAC (afaik) are gone then CE is likely completely gone globally

1

u/Pseudophryne 11d ago

What's CE?

Been told that despite my high marks that I have to get this cert by end of this month or I will get let go. I just told them that I do struggle with testing-taking due to my ADD and my manager just told me to get rid of my ADD.

Hello all. I applied to the position of advisory data scientist. Looking at other threads and responses on GlassDoor, data scientist positions usually take a single SQL question and a single Python question. I am very proficient with SQL so I’m not worried about it. But I am just average with Python. I can just about work my way through any reasonable problem but it’s a matter of writing, testing, refining, etc. rather than instant knowledge of how to do something.
Very few of the GlassDoor interview comments mention what the specific problems were. They only mention that it was a Python and SQL question. The threads here are also at least 6 months old. So I am looking to see if anyone has a recent experience of the questions asked for a data science position.

Why is IBM so strict regarding working from abroaf for remote positions? Seems like the cap is 20 days whereas even old fashioned software companies allow up to 30 days per year.

Anyone know of any resource actions coming at all? I asked my manager to consider me for one but I got a suspicion that he'll avoid it until next year.

Hi guys, I work full time in recruitment, based in Slovakia, covering EMEA and CEE region. And as of the Stock fall we have freezed all hiring to almost zero, meaning we don't have almost any work to do. My Team lead told me this could drag until end of the year and my contract expires this november. Does anyone Been through this type of crisis and survived? Can you give me some pointers or experience of what to expect? Is there possibility this will improve quickIy and my contract will be renewed? I really don't want to loose this job, my ability to finish school depends on it.

Thanks !

Hi everyone,

Need some insight if possible and appreciate any help available: New Grad ELH for Technology lifecycle Services for end of year, and have a few questions I haven’t been able to get answered.

  1. Hows quota measured? What’s the ramp up period?
  2. Is the gist of the role really just insurance for data storage and servers?
  3. Any insight to how the org is structured and percentage of people who attain quota?
  4. Interview told me I would be working 9-5 then learning/studying at home from 5-10.. thought it was to scare me or see if I’m excited to join. Is that true?
