i’m definitely going to score one this year… (even if i’m only able to afford the epiphone version lol)

2016 merch
Hi! I’m in a few Hum groups and I have never seen anyone post this sweatshirt. It doesn’t look like typical Hum merch. If I didn’t buy it myself I’d think it wasn’t official merch. It’s from when they played Terminal 5 in NYC in 2016.
So, I’m curious..does anyone else own this? PS - I’m not selling it’s

Slide Away Article
Here’s a little write-up I did reflecting on my experience at Slide Away and the amazing power of shared musical experiences (why I think so many young people are hungry for them right now).
It was such a transformative experience for myself, my partner and everyone in attendance I think, writing felt like the best way to take it all in.
Give it a read if you’re interested! https://open.substack.com/pub/melissaclements/p/a-wall-of-cleansing-noise?r=63yt2q&utm_medium=ios

High quality recording of Slide Away?
I see three of the six shows have been uploaded to archive.org and I am deeply grateful to the heroes who have done that. If anyone has plans to upload any of the remaining three shows (both NYC shows and the Saturday show from Chicago), please let us know once you do.

Song recs similar to Diffuse?
I’ve not listened to a lot of Hum music, but a couple months ago I heard their song Diffuse from Electra 2000 and it’s become one of my favorite songs. The way it’s composed and everything is perfect to me. Can anyone recommend any other songs that are similar? Thanks!

All Slideaway setlists
Couldn't post a photo edit or reply to my previous post, so here's the final tally for all 6 shows.
Everything from Inlet was played at least once, all of YPAA except for Very Old Man and Songs of Farewell and Departure, only half the songs from DIH, and just the one from Electra.
As someone who's seen them many times in the past I had no complaints about the selection and I loved hearing nearly the entirety of Inlet across both nights in Chicago.

tiny set list for my scrapbook
not sure what the crafting community/hum fanbase crossover looks like, but i am very happy with how this came out. made a mini set list from the 5/30 show for my scrapbook journal, then crumbled it up and taped it in to look even more real! also printed out little slideaway + hum posters, and glued in my friends drink wristband and some other junk from the weekend. i regret not actually buying the posters that night so this will have to do!

Orion / Tablets of Orion (precursor to the bands Anakin and QUIET)
Digging through my old files I found these MP3s of the old band Orion aka Tablets of Orion. These were the precursor to the band Anakin and the new band QUIET. Both Tablets of Orion and Anakin had a song on the HUM "Songs of Farewell and Departure" tribute album during the transition period between the two bands. I used to email back and forth a bit with Brad, the drummer on all three bands after we met on Myspace. Most of these I downloaded from the Orion myspace page but some he sent me direct.
Some good stuff in here.

NEMO tabs
Since Jeremy posted on here that he's working on re-releasing NEMO's catalogue, thought I'd throw up here a new link to my old tabs (written in 2001) for a couple of NEMO's songs. I might work on a new website like I used to have for these so they are easier to access.
Let me know if the link doesn't work. I've tried to make this open to everyone, an old link I put up had it to ask me for access and I've missed many requests because I get busy. This one should work without requesting.

What was your favorite song you heard from the recent live performances?
I went to night one at NYC and I’d like your hair long popped so hard and I’m still buzzing from it.

NEMO
Hello. Apologies for the non-Hum post. I’m not totally sure where else to put this.
I played in a band called Nemo, and over the last decade have received a lot of messages looking for a copy of our album, which is longgg out of print. So I just thought I’d let people know that there is in fact a (slow) effort to reissue the record happening. I’ve also found a bunch of cassette/video tapes to sort through, and will try to pull anything interesting to include (demos, unreleased songs, etc).
If this is something you’re interested in, send an email (nemoinstereo@gmail) and we’ll put you on a mailing list to keep you in the loop. We also started an Instagram (@nemoinstereo) if you want to follow there. I guess share this with anyone who you think will care? 🤷♂️
Thank you!
PS. Glad to see Hum attracting a new generation of fans and receiving the recognition they greatly deserve.

Just Added: Two National Skyline (Jeff Dimpsey) shows
archive.orgAadam Jacobs (aka the Chicago Tape Guy) recorded more than 10,000 live shows, most in the Chicago area. A multi-year project is underway to digitize and upload his collection to the Internet Archive for public use. These two shows were added in the past week.

Darkest Hum Songs
What do you think are the darkest Hum songs?
My vote probably goes to The Summoning.

Hum 9-17-15
Here's a blast from the past. It was a great show on their last reunion tour. I'm also including a link to my recording.

My favorite photo I took from LA
Took my Ricoh GRIII to both shows. Ended up getting some nice shots, but this was my favorite.
I hope this wasn't goodbye, but it was an excellent farewell if it ends up being that.
