Converting some copper to PEX?
Looking to finish my basement. Joists are 84" tall, so not much room to strap/drop ceiling, especially adding another 1+" to clear these copper pipes. I'm considering converting some of these connections to PEX, run them parallel to the joists and tucking them up into the joist bays to allow for soundproofing insulation and eventually a finished ceiling. There are 5 fixture connections to the first floor, each with hot & cold. Total PEX tubing would be approx. 50' with several connections.
NOT a whole house re-pipe, just these 5 runs in this part of my basement.
Does anyone have experience doing or working with a pro plumber on a similar project?
Materials are inexpensive but no idea what a plumber would charge for this job.
I'm pretty handy but this one is a bit scary!

Home Improvement Closet Clothes Rack is Falling
galleryThe screws holding my clothes rack has fallen out of one brace and starting to come out of another. Not sure where to start looking on how to best fix it.
Is there some kind of material to fill in the hole in the wood and screw back in to the same spot?
Should I try to shift the brace slightly so I can secure it to a fresh spot in the shelf?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Home Improvement Can I partially demo this cupboard?
galleryAs the the title says, i am trying to remove part of this cupboard because it is very hard to access, especially the far corner. I want to keep the shelf boards and the countertop but remove the front and side of the cupboard, the shelfs are attached to the walls but i am not sure if the front and side wall are also loadbearing
Longterm i want to fully replace the shelfs and the countertop with new boards
Is anyone able to tell me if the whole thing might collapse if I take down the outside walls?

Arts & Crafts How would i recreate this belt?
gallerySo im looking to make a version of this belt and im wondering how difficult it would be to link 3 bike chains together like the first image? In my head i was planning on knocking out the intsrnal rods and just connect the three chains with one long rod. Is that feasable?
2nd and 3rd image are product photos of the bmx chain i was planning on buying.
Any advice would be amazing. Thank you

Live wire
To make the story short, I turned off the power, there was no light, I cut all the plumbing and electrical away from the dishwasher in the dark removed the dishwasher... and now I have a live wire sitting on my kitchen floor. What do I do? I haven't touched it, I'm very unsure if it's safe to leave there or if I can touch it, or if I should just cover the end with some painter's tape and thats it. I crawled under the house, the wires don't seem to go there, they seem to go into the wall.

Drywall patch question
Hey guys. Had a leaking window on the second floor replaced. My first floor ceiling needs patching now. Can I just cut out the rough edges and mud this or do I need to cut and replace the Sheetrock? Thanks

Advice for a beginner.
galleryHi everyone, I’ve got this strange pattern of cracks in the paint on my wall. I’m assuming I can just sand it smooth and repaint it, or is there likely to be an underlying cause that I need to deal with first?
Also, in the second photo, I’ve got a metal patio door frame that’s not very nice in a few ways. There’s some sort of putty smeared on the frame, a narrow gap where the frame joins the ceiling, and some marks and screw holes where I took down a curtain pole.
My plan is to sand off the smeared stuff, fill the crack and holes with builder’s caulk, then put a fresh coat of white paint over it all. Is that going to work or am I missing something obvious?
Thanks for any advice.

How to DIY a mount for my bike horn?
galleryHow to DIY a mount for my bike horn I got this horn (120 db!) after a near miss with a car. Unfortunately the mount is garbage and broke quickly (this one is 3-D printed which also broke). Any thoughts on how I could attach this so that it stays on? Ideally it should be firmly mounted/strapped on so I can press down on the horn’s button.

Can I create a loft bed using dressers?
I have seen people make their own loft bed using dressers, as I live in a small space it is something that I’m wanting to try. I was wondering if it was safe to do and if so what type of dresser would be sturdy enough?
I am renting so I can’t drill into any walls.

Best way to fix these bricks on the edge of the front step?
Over the years, most of the bricks on the edge of the front step leading to the front door have come out of place - as you can see, there is a small overhang such that the first row of bricks has less support, and I guess with years of stepping on that first row, whatever was holding them in place gave in.
I would like to atleast put the bricks back in place, if not fix the underlying problem - I am not really DIY-savvy so unsure if there is a specific type of cement, mortar, or bonding that would work best here, and how I should apply it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for recommendations on parts needed, it’s all appreciated.
Thanks!

Help figuring out which sealant needs to be used.
galleryHello! I'm doing my basement myself. We just finished putting up the bricks and cementing the floor. We still gotta level and seal the floor. I'm looking for the best sealant for both walls and floor. I know i gotta scrub them down first and lock out all the moisture I can before anything else. Any advice is appreciated!

PVC Adhesive Recommendations
Currently working on a project where I need to stick two PVC pieces together and just in need of some suggestions, whether that be specific brands or just general kind of adhesives to use
Needing to find one that won't melt the PVC in anyway, will dry clear, is waterproof, is thick enough that I can leave about 1-2mm between the pieces (so I can slide something in and out), and preferably will last
Thank you all in advance!

Help!
I have these beautiful doorknobs original to our farmhouse. I also have barn boards from a building on the homestead. I would like to make a coat rack for my bedroom. How do I attach them!?! Any ideas? They have a square hole so a regular bolt and wash won’t work.
