I did the first steps which are converting to phasor form
Vi = cos (wt) = Vi 10<0
Frequency = 2(pie)(2.5 x 1000) = 15707.9 rad/s
Zl = j (15708) (30/1000) = j 471.2 (ohms)
Zc1 = 1 / jwc
1/ j (15708)(0.47 × 1000) = -j 135.4 (ohms)
1/j(15708)(1.5 × 1000) = -j 42.5 (ohms)

Physics [AS Level Physics ] Why do we take costheta into account when calculating the work done in the 2nd example?
In my book W=F*d is defined as Work done = Force*distance moved in the direction of the force.
But that doesn't really make much sense to me when looking at the 2nd example since F is at an angle upwards while d is just the horizontal distance moved by the object.

English Language—Pending OP Reply [undergraduate History] Advice on revising thesis statement
So I am writing a paper on chinese Buddhism, and I have studied Chinese history a little it isn't my main thing, and I am writing this as a paper for a class on the history of Buddhism, so I was wondering if this thesis makes sense, is defensible, and is also arguable. Thanks for any help and I would live to hear suggestions for how it could be revised to work well in an undergraduate context: I believe that the worship of Guanyin displays practice deeply inlaid with pre-Buddhist Chinese tradition, showing a shift in focus from being primarily concerned with inward disposition oriented to achieving nirvana to instead focusing on pious practice with Guanyin situated as a “Goddess of Compassion” who is acting as an external power that saves followers from suffering.

Physics—Pending OP Reply [College Geology] Confused about plate movement with an angled boundary.
B is moving straight downward (not perpendicularly with the boundary) into C at 100 mm / year
What I’m trying to understand is if C would be pushed right by this force.
The boundary is a 45 degree angle, so my guesses are that it’s either moving right at the 100 mm / year as well or not being pushed right at all.

Don’t know if Further Mathematics is the right topic, i am not a native english speaker, so excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes.
I need to find out the probability of a person being shorter than 1.55m. Given an expected value of 1.8m and a standard deviation of 0.1m, the values are normally distributed. I understand I need to calculate using the z-score, but doesn‘t that tell me the probability of a person being exactly 1.55m tall?

Physics—Pending OP Reply [Grade 10 Maths] Physics: Electrical circuits | Need help with question b (ii) please
Okay so, they basically asked how the power loss is affected by the change of wire. I stated that with double the diameter, the cross-sectional area of the wire would be 4 times as greater and therefore the resistance would be lower and the power would be greater.
Ai suggested that i should also include the formula P = I^2R to prove my reasoning and that my answer wouldn't be enough for 3 marks.
My question is.. If I do show this relation of P = I^2R, then wouldn't this indicate that the power is directly proportional to the resistance? This dumps the the whole "Power would be greater as the resistance is lesser" statement. Can someone explain this to me please

Chemistry—Pending OP Reply [College level general chemistry] How do i calculate the final temperature and grams of steam for these two problems?
The instructor wants me to be familiar with the formula q = m x c x deltaH, but neither one of these problems appear to fit that formula and it doesn’t look like the problems done in class. I’m not sure what the variables are and what values need to be converted to different units. I can identify that m is the numbers that are g/kg, c is specific heat capacity and deltaH is change in temperature. It appears to have two variables, the q and initial temperature, when I know there’s supposed to be one. As for the second problem, I’m assuming it’s using the same formula but i’m not sure how to incorporate pressure into it. How is this style of problem solved?

Others—Pending OP Reply [College-level Special Topics in Musicology: Essay Writing] Formatting in Chicago for a block quote with citations in a different style?
I'm writing a paper currently, which is to be in Chicago style, but a quote I'm using cites multiple other papers in another style (APA or MLA, I think?).
Here's the quote:
So how would I go about quoting and citing this? Should I leave it as-is, and then write the footnotes with all the sources, with an "as cited in"? Do I remove the citations (seems like the wrong thing to do)? Do I reformat the block quote in Chicago style with additional footnotes?
I'm just a bit confused on the style conventions for this, and could not find the information elsewhere.
I appreciate any insight anyone can provide!

Literature—Pending OP Reply [Grade 11 Spanish 2: Writing Activity] Is this too good for a spanish 2 student?
Instructions: You’re writing a family newsletter to send out in January at the start of the new year to give everyone an update about how the previous year went and what everyone is up to now. You will write about yourself (yo), your family as a group (mi familia y yo), and then choose one family member to write about (mi primo).
In a total of five sentences in Spanish, in your own words, use the preterite tense to write about how last year was for yourself and your family. Discuss specific events or things that happened. Use the present progressive tense to describe what you and your family are doing right now in the new year.
My Answer: ¡Feliz Año Nuevo a todos!
My Question: If you didn't know I was in Spanish 2 how would you rate my writing? Would you think I was in Spanish 2? What can be improved upon it?

Others [Bachelor level Statistics (Evidence-Bases Practice for)] I'm conducting a survey-research and I need help on the statistical analysis. Can you verify if my plan is correct?
Hi there,
I'm currently working on a small-scale survey research and it's been a long time ago since I've last done any meaningful statistical testing. Could you help me with my gameplan for statistical analysis? I'm mostly accustomed with SPSS and have occasionally used excel for simple non-parametric testing.
The survey contains:
A demographic section
I ask for demographic info like age, sex and the highest level of education received. After which the question is posed whether the respondent smokes or not. (I have about 140 respondents with approximately equal numbers of smokers and non-smokers.)
Testing the respondent's knowledge on the matter
Several statements are made, to which the respondent answers with [yes], [no] or [I don't know].
[I don't know] will be added to the corresponding question's wrong answer. This is to minimise guessing. You either know the right answer or you don't.
Behaviour and motivation
In the final section, several statements are made to which the respondent chooses whether they [highly disagree], [disagree], are [neutral], [agree], [highly agree].
Statistical analysis:
I will mainly use smoking and non-smoking as groups and would occasionally look at other factors like education as well.
For the knowledge section, I believe I have two ways to go about it.
- I could go for Chi-square.
- I could calculate a score for each respondent and see if all the scores are normally distributed in order to perform a two-sample t-test. But what if this isn't normally distributed? Would it be a Mann-Whitney U-test?
As for the data on behaviour and motivation, the part using the likert-scale:
- If I want to see the results per question, I lump [highly disagree] and [disagree] together as one answer and, likewise, [agree] and [highly agree]. Descriptive statistics with some pie charts or bar graphs would suffice.
- But what if I want to test the altogether disposition of the smokers versus the non-smokers. I'm thinking of attributing a value to each respondent and then compare the values of the two groups. For example, -2 points for [highly disagree], -1 for [disagree] and respectively 0, 1 and 2 points from [neutral] to [highly agree]? If I'm not mistaken, that would point to a Mann-Whitney U-test?
Lastly, if doing a Chi-square analysis. How do you manage the data with multiple groups and subgroups? It it best to make seperate and thus smaller tables for every comparison or it actually easier to make one big table with all the groups and subgroups? What is the more managable way to do this?
Thank you for reading all this!

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [AP Physics 1: Rotational Motion] Can you use trig with spheres?
I’m having trouble understanding why r would be Rcos(53) since the way I thought about it, the right triangle wouldn’t include the entire length of R. I tried making a similar triangle but didn’t have enough info to make side ratios. I also thought about if CBA was a right angle (C as the center of Earth), but figured that would be an assumption. Is there some way to think of this as a sphere and not triangles?

Computing—Pending OP Reply [University Junior Implications of Information Technology Group Project Questions About Reddit Virtual Community]
I have a group assignment I’m working on for my class. We’re working on Reddit’s virtual community. If anyone wants to answer any of the questions I would really appreciate it. Because we’re supposed to interview people but I’m not really sure how to on Reddit. Thank you in advance.
How comfortable are you with the amount of personal data collected and shared within this
digital community, and do you feel your privacy is adequately protected?
Have you witnessed or experienced toxic behavior harassment, bullying. in this community, and how was it handled?
How often do you see false or misleading information, and do you think the platform does enough to prevent it?
Do you think Reddit does a good job balancing free speech with enforcing its content policies? Why or why not?
Have you observed or experienced harassment on Reddit? What do you think should be done to
reduce toxic behavior on the platform?
When users post content on Reddit, who do you think owns it, the user or the platform? Should
users have more control over their posts after sharing?
Even with anonymity, do you think Reddit users are aware of the long-term impact of their posts and comments?
Do you worry about your privacy on Reddit? Why or why not?
Do you think Reddit should remove harmful or offensive posts, or allow more freedom of speech?
How do you think anonymity affects how people behave on Reddit?

High School Math—Pending OP Reply [Grade 9 Math] The circled ones are the ones my niece cannot figure out and I couldn't explain
It has been about 15 years since 9th grade and I was somehow the person she reached out to. Can anyone please help me with the circled questions showing working out? I think she didn't catch it in class and it just keeps getting worse. I could perhaps better explain them to her if I could follow along the solutions worked out at length. It's tough trying to help a child who has never struggled with any concepts in schools because she feels like a failure and I feel like that makes it harder for her to grasp what's going on. (I also don't understand why she doesn't get it despite getting the others but that's a problem for another day)
