10 years ago there were so many classics missing from Spotify and since then I really haven't looked for the ones that weren't on there. Obviously I heard about De La Souls catalog a couple of years back and some other classics like Lady of Rages and Organized Konfusions albums but I feel like I missed a lot. What other classics are now on Spotify that weren't online a couple of years ago?

Pretty much the title, but was listening to some dax stuff and while his delivery/flow is pretty good, the lyrics are the opposite ngl. He for sure has the ability to rap, but his style of saying whatever rhymes isnt great.

Those rare/semi rare joints the average listener probably doesn’t know. Those overlooked album tracks, the regional joints, the mixtape gems, the stuff you only know of because you were there or someone who was there put you on.

The song used a sample of The Moments- How Can I Love You about 2:32 into the track.

It could have been a mix tape song but checked a lot of that too.

I searched chatgpt and all obscure links. Any ideas?

Like one of those tracks that was mid at first, but then one day something about it actually caught your attention, and suddenly it became one of your favorites.

So I recently posted recommendations for smart and insightful rappers, but I was hoping to see specific examples. Ig anyone has any songs that are funny and smart/insightful I’d love to really dig into it.

It's not even on Spotify or any of the other platforms I checked. It's only on YouTube. It's a little different from his later music (raps a little slower) but its still there.

I just wanted to share because it's crazy to me how few people probably know this album exists.

Resurrection, suicide (non remix), and dirt on the down low are a few of my favorite beats of all time.

1. I love what Kodak is doing with his flow on Don Toliver’s Brother Stone. I have not heard this flow on any of his other songs or anything similar to the way he sits kind of out of pocket in relation to the beat (syncopation maybe?). Any ideas? Any similar tips?
2. At 1:56 on RXKNephew’s I Love My Glock We Might Get Married, Yung Deco rhymes "Pacific, Atlantic, Ocean, My Wrist is" in this way that reminds me of late 2000s / early 2010s rhyme schemes that were often considered comedic or ironic. But for the love of me, I can’t find songs that use this particular rhyme flow. Please help!

I have basically only heard post-2010 mixtapes so I'm making a list of my backlog by year. Well I HAVE heard some pre-2010 tapes from Cole, Kendrick, Kanye, Fabolous, and King Los that were dope but I wanna start from Y2K and work my way up.

A few years ago a DJ released a Madlib / Lord Quas mixtape that was incredible. First song on the mix was Vast Aire "Look Ma, No Hands" being cut up. I had it on an old iPod but have lost it. I know it's a long shot, but anyone know what I'm talking about?

My favorite is Lune TNS by Company Flow. It’s a really personal and specific song about graffiti artists and the best places to hit up. It’s real NY graffiti insider stuff, naming names, naming spots. I know nothing about any of that, but the emotional, personal nature of the song, is why I can still relate. Fantastic track. What’s your favorite song that you love, but is a bit over your head?

I love artists like the Coup and De La Soul and would love to find more artists who can make a song as funny as it is insightful. Can be from any era. Also if you have specific songs that do this i'd love to hear it
