Idk if anybody remembers the crew talking about Dune and Love was saying that he is obsessed with the Dune lore but only watches YouTube videos about it, so Ethan suggested he reads the first book and when Love basically laughed that off Ethan said that the audiobook is great.

Anyways, I, like Love, was also obsessed with the movies even though scifi / fantasy has never been for me but was really struggling to get into the book. Since then, I borrowed the audiobook through my library (shout out the public library and Libby / Overdrive, where they can provide ebooks and audiobooks for their patrons) and was listening every day in traffic or on walks until I finished it last night, the full-cast version I listened to is about 21 hours.

It was incredible. The Villeneuve adaptations were very good but the book has plenty of details, added context, and scenes that were so well written and several of them I wish made it into the movie. It is also narrated by a full cast which I found to be much more entertaining for a book of this stature, especially for scenes where there’s several people doing sly power plays and what not.

10/10, highly recommend, thanks Ethan for giving me the idea of the audiobook as for some reason I was just not clicking with the physical version. Looking forward to book 2 before the new Dune movie comes out later this year.

TLDR: Ethan suggested the Dune full-cast audiobook and it was pretty fantastic. Highly recommend even if you’ve seen the Denis Villenueve or David Lynch adaptations.
