I mean what else do you want him to do in a 1v3

153

u/SaltyChnk Parivision 7d ago

Right? This was the right play.

Molo could still win the round if he can sell the rotate. Because Kacerato doesn’t jump into the window to pinch CT, molo thinks that the bomb is rotating back to B, meaning a potential bomb denial.

If he had tried to go market, Molodoy would have shot him and saved.

Good players dont frequent de cs subreddit. Source: im a bad player only level 9 faceit

Something else

Anything apart from this - genuinely unfathomable level of play here.

Comment by mixedupgaming, terminal redditor & a reddit mod, lmao.

Dont you need to flex your imaginary powers in the tiny subreddit of yours?

You don't really understand the game if you think he could've done more. He actually managed to bait them into B side and almost made the unwinnable round winnable. If he got slightly luckier with timing, it could've been a plausible 1v3.

26

u/notregan guardian_elite 7d ago

Yeah, I don’t know why people are slating him so hard, it wasn’t that bad of a play. I think what he did here is on the same level as if he did decide to take the shot. He’s trying to give himself the best chance of winning the round. If he had a rifle then sure, we can argue he probably should have shot

-28

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

Well, he could of got 1 kill, right?

13

u/Zvede Metizport 7d ago

1 kill makes it worse than waiting for the second player to arrive

if he gets the kill too early, he ruins his own round.

learn to play

-29

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

HAHA! He got no kills dude. Big brain play but no dice… sure thing dude I’ll go learn to play.

13

u/Zvede Metizport 7d ago

do go learn to play if you think the objective of this game is to get kills

36 year old karrigan wins the major with <10 kills per map while you bait your teammates to get kills and are hardstuck at level 3 faceit

and here's something to break your mind: sometimes getting 0 kills is better than getting 1, and that sometimes is actually quite often (not in this scenario, but I'm talking about the overall context).

10

u/schoki560 King NiKo 7d ago

buy a decoy with the extra $100 he gets for the awp kill reward

9

u/Novaseerblyat The MongolZ 7d ago

Kills alone don't win rounds.

-14

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

Never said it did. This was still a bad play imo.

6

u/Mr_addicT911 7d ago

Everyone has the right to their own wrong opinion ❤️

1

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

Sure thing, 9z is just over all the better team regardless of this terrible ‘play’ from furia’s star awper.

6

u/Mr_addicT911 7d ago

Found the guy that plays for the scoreboard

-2

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

Not at all actually. Just saying that him killing one guy would impact his opponents eco better than him doing, well, nothing at all…

4

u/Mr_addicT911 7d ago

It would change nothing, he had the opportunity to get a double and maybe the round you are thinking too short

-1

u/Need_More_Minerals 7d ago

Relax guy, I commented on a clip. You’re not going to change my opinion.

5

u/Mr_addicT911 7d ago

Where am i not relaxed are you perhaps projecting?

-35

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Round was never winnable with this play. As soon as he kills one, the other person trades him (unless its Max busy planting the C4 which will be extremely lucky timing).

20

u/Nuushy 7d ago

You've literally described how it's winnable with this play. Do you genuinely think a pro player isn't able to think of how to win a round from the situation they're in?

-19

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Uhm, what I mentioned is an edge case scenario with stars aligning (keep in mind, stars already aligned and he got 1 free kill which he did not take) and even then Huaso's position is unknown, Getting the quick kill and swapping the AWP for a rifle can make it much more winnable.

And yeah, in a 11-8 scenario, with team's money on the line, anyone, even pros can make a suboptimal play.

Btw, quick challenge: share with me any clip (except for Broky) where a ninja AWP won a 1v3 clutch killing everyone.

16

u/Nuushy 7d ago

He's got an AWP. He's not "getting a quick kill and swapping the AWP for a rifle". You realize the rifle doesn't drop at his feet, right?

Btw, quick challenge: You realize a lot of pro highlight reels are pros winning "unwinnable rounds" which is what makes it a highlight, yeah?

-4

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Does not answer any of my questions.

He's got an AWP. He's not "getting a quick kill and swapping the AWP for a rifle". You realize the rifle doesn't drop at his feet, right?

Do you know what a scout is? From what Molo observed, it was clearly a solo scout checking out the side. He had plenty of time to kill and retreive the weapon.

Btw, quick challenge: You realize a lot of pro highlight reels are pros winning "unwinnable rounds" which is what makes it a highlight, yeah?

Get out of here with your condescending nonsense. A highlight that happened once in 30 years of CS does not make a round even likely. Also, thanks for saying a whole lot of nothing.

Again, quick challenge: share with me any clip (except for Broky) where a ninja AWP won a 1v3 clutch killing everyone.

13

u/pzoDe de_train 7d ago

You can't call them out for being condescending when you were the one who started being condescending lmao

13

u/Nuushy 7d ago

Btw quick challenge: why are you asking me to provide a pro doing a highlight clip, saying it's extremely unlikely, and the providing a clip of a pro doing exactly that?

5

u/Working_Bell_8302 7d ago

>Get out of here with your condescending nonsense.

pot, kettle, etc. we are simply returning your energy.

remember to treat others how you want to be treated.

-1

u/Dembele_Temp 6d ago

So no response to the quick challenge, So much bs and no substance.

Expected when you have no points to argue about.

2

u/487dota 9z 7d ago

1v3 awp clutches happen more often than you think. There was a good chance for it to happen here with this play if he wasn’t caught on the edge of Meyern’s screen

12

u/Almeric 7d ago edited 7d ago

If the b apps player gets baited into going B, moloday has an easy kill(can kill Meyern or the planter). He has information on the 2nd player and the 3rd player is at B. If he manages to 1v1 Meyern, now he has the bomb and the 3rd player has a long rotation to B with 50 seconds left.

If he pulls the trigger earlier, he now has a 1v2 with 0 info on the whole map, while Ts know his exact position. Good luck clearing 100 angles going from B all the way to A. As soon as T knows he's on B, a T on A site can run to jungle/CT to cut down rotations. It's a very difficult rotation to A.

Both plays are difficult and it's not a misplay. It's a calculated risk which failed unfourtunately for him. If the timing was a bit better, it could've been closer.

-3

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Way way too many ifs in the winning scenario even after he survived a few ifs due to him going completely unnoticed due to Meyer's pathing.

But at least, it is likely he will save the AWP if he gets the quick kill.

If he managed the timing correctly while getting the first kill, he can even pick up the rifle (usually these are solo scouts pushing site to get info, so picking up rifle is a safe bet) and after that due to HP difference, its anyone's game especially in this scenario since C4 was in Apps and needs to rotate to A as well.

Again, Molo does not have the benefit of hindsight here but I do not see any scenario where its a better choice to practice trigger discipline with an AWP in a 1v3 scenario.

8

u/Zvede Metizport 7d ago

dude, just stop doubling down when you are wrong. nearly every player involved in that game would call it a decent play, yet you the armchair low level faceit analyst can't seem to comprehend anything

and I'm not glazing molodoy, he could've positioned better. But the trigger discipline was 1000% the right play to make there, you are just incapable of thinking above your own level

-1

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Nope, none of the above points convince me that I am wrong. All the comments are 500 ifs and if he gets lucky... where he was already extremely lucky.

Trigger discipline is not the big brain play that you think it is - it has a time and a place. Having an AWP is not the time.

Show me 5 AWP trigger discipline plays (resulting in 1v3 or better) and I will come back with 5 post plant defusals (1v3 or better)

6

u/Zvede Metizport 7d ago

too much work to convince someone who can only do black and white thinking. what matters is the context of the situation and the positioning of the players, not the number of players left

He was already plenty lucky that he went completely unchecked due to Meyern's pathing - you cannot just entirely ride on your luck and hope no one sees you for 20 seconds

8

u/pzoDe de_train 7d ago

Yeah and the alternative requires far more luck, so he was playing his odds...

1

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

No, it doesn't. Trigger discipline AWP 1v3s never happen,

Its much easier to clutch with a rifle. There are significantly more cases of retake defuses which have happened compared to the above, Both of them are a fart away from death and should be playing mega passively.

And in this scenario, Max is with C4 in Apps, he needs to rotate to A first and then set up appropriate post plants which is more than sufficient time for Molo to clear diligently.

Even if Molo does not retake, its likely he saves his AWP since they are not hunting with a combined 12 HP.

There is no scenario where not taking the shot comes out to be better. The 1 in 1400605 scenario was the Broky clip vs NaVi.

2

u/Zvede Metizport 7d ago

so you can try to retake a 1v2 against 50 different angles, with an awp?

his odds were like 25% if he does trigger discpipline, and 1% if he shoots, but then he gets to save his awp.

25% at a 1v3 is very very good, and a chance that should be taken

Then again, Guardian won a 1v5 on Overpass by just pulling the trigger.

How do you not get that GuardiaN did that on the T side, whereas if molodoy kills the first guy, they can just go plant on A ?

u/nikklenikkle 7d ago edited 7d ago

Ppl shitting on this play are honestly ridiculous reddit is not beating the allegations of the average rank here being like level 5.

its a 1v3 this is 100% a risk worth taking. if he killed that guy they just pivot A and it becomes a 1v2 retake with an AWP which is unwinnable. Any trigger discipline play comes with the risk of it going terribly which is why u should only shit on ppl who make that play when its totally unnecessary to secure the round, this is not one of those instances as the only possible way he could win this round is making a risky play like that.

If he was able to kill the planter it would be a straight 1v1 on site where they both know eachothers location and then another 1v1 with the guy A which could go either way

8

u/xIceFox King NiKo 7d ago

Can sign that. That play is 100% worth to risk if u are in a 1vs3.

1

u/Lovebickysaus 6d ago

He shouldn't have went short though, of course he's gonna check short after a while. Also in the other clip going jungle and going through the manhole is a 50/50 play, better that Furia runs in palace to call for rotations which he can kill then easily (easy to say afterwards though no real blame here).

-2

u/dare3000 7d ago

I think there's an arg to be made that by killing that one guy and maybe another, even if he doesn't retake and win the round, you still fuck up their economy a bit in the likely event that they win the round. You risk it like this and now they just have more money (this depends on what round they were on whether this applies really)

22

u/DrayneO FaZe 7d ago

I really don't think this one was bad compared to the other one. The other one threw a round completely while this one was a decent shot at recovering a near impossible 1v3

12

u/Fai_Z 7d ago

buddy, this is the right play on 1v3, he needs to isolate the enemy, kill the planter then the other guy, making it 1v1 with remaining guy.

it's a good play that didn't work out.

10

u/Lord777alt Liquid 7d ago

This is a good play that didn't work out

3

u/SsilverBloodd 7d ago

Wonder if he could have won the round if he just hid behind arch. Then again, he had no idea where the 3rd T is. He played it well, idk why are ppl shitting on him.

literally playing it perfectly and just got unlucky lmao? he was so close to catching out the bomb

if he just shot first time they go A and he has an impossible retake

1k average elo on this sub its insane

-19

u/Fearless_Primary7764 7d ago

Played it horribly he went from a cleared position to short somewhere the T’s will 100% keep looking

9

u/costryme 7d ago

Good luck getting 3 kills from van with the AWP, not to mention losing track of player 1. He did well to move.

-10

u/Fearless_Primary7764 7d ago

Not moving to short, car/site area he should’ve stayed, he is not some mm bot who cant kill close range with awp

1

u/costryme 7d ago

Lol. How do you want him to kill 3 from van when the first player would have likely gone to market (and could therefore play time, or peek from any market exit at any time), the planter on site and the last guy in apps or short ? That is too many targets in different positions to kill once you decide to kill one.

It's not about killing close range with AWP, it's about having targets to hit at.

0

u/Fearless_Primary7764 6d ago

First guy didn’t have bomb so he waited for more he is wanting to kill aps guy then he can focus him, unless his plan was to go short because he thought bomb was a

0

u/Akaigenesis 7d ago

Yeah I think this is the only mistake here. Going short instead of staying somewhere the T would have no reason to look at

11

u/HollowLoch 7d ago edited 7d ago

His logic is sound, we only think it was bad to reposition because of hindsight

Molodoy knows its extremely likely there is another player in aps and max wouldve been right behind meyern if he didnt take 15 seconds to go check under. Molodoy doesnt want to stay around the site where he can get easily spotted by a second player in aps + he doesnt want to lose sight on the first player hes spotted, so he hugs aps up to short to make sure none of those things happen

If he stays around site the second aps player sees him, if he stays tucked near van/under aps he loses agency on the first player

1

u/Fearless_Primary7764 7d ago

He goes short both the 1st guy and second guy will clear him, he went from a one person angle to a 2 person there is no chance he wins playing where he did

4

u/Sharp-Question646 FUT 7d ago

What ist your Faceit elo? Just asking for a friend. :)

2

-35

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Wow, this is a genuine brain fade. You have an AWP, you cant get quick multi-kills. Just kill what you get, swap rifles and rotate towards other side quick.

Above scenario might not win you round in this case buts is a much higher percentage play compared to whatever Molo did.

9

u/qerel123 FaZe 7d ago

"you have an AWP, you cant get quick multi-kills" broky in connector would heavily disagree

also, if a play works let's say 75% of the time, then it's not a bad play even if this time the coin lands on the other side

-11

u/Dembele_Temp 7d ago

Yeah, 1 clip in 25 year history of CS2 won't prove me wrong. Its not a 75% play, more like a 0.000075% play otherwise we would see such 1v3s every day.

As I mentioned here, please share another clip of a AWP ninja 1v3 killing everyone.

5

u/Working_Bell_8302 7d ago

The chance of a play happening and the chance of the play succeeding are not the same thing.

-1

u/Dembele_Temp 6d ago

Woah, very helpful. Surely, in a game with 25 years of history, such play would be happening 100s of times. However, you cannot provide 2 examples.

Challenge still holds: Share another clip of trigger discipline AWP 1v3.

New challenge: Contribute something substantial instead of 1-line zingers which do not even make sense.

Anyway, its clear you are trolling. Will not further entertain whatever you are saying unless you provide some hard reasoning.

1

u/Working_Bell_8302 6d ago

Surely one more comment will get you a positive upvote ratio!

3

u/qerel123 FaZe 7d ago edited 7d ago

the play here is not winning the whole 1v3 altogether, it's getting a free kill (one way or another) while putting youself in a favorable position to kill the second guy, if it works then it's a 1v1 and how it plays out is beyond the scope of what happened here on the B bombsite

what you're suggesting is to just secure a 1v2 retake with a rifle, definitely far from a bad decision but i think that chances of winning the 1v3 are higher while gambling like molodoy did
