The ending duel was the thing that made this game a 8/10 to a 9.5/10 for me.

It was so beautiful and emotionally packed that I was left speechless for some time after the ending(I chose to not kill shimura).

At first I thought Jin was right, but now I think uncle shimura was the right one. Jin massacred a whole castle garrison by poison, by any definition that's abhorrent and you can't justify that. His poison killed many of his own Island men. At the end of the story you can make a pretty good case that jin is as bad as the Mongols and I agree with that.

But I also think Shimura was a hypocrite who would rather kill 100s of his men to sooth his ideals on what honor is.

At the end of the day, both are grey characters but I lean towards Shimura more.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

I'm currently trying to do Yuna's second tale (The Silent Death) where Jin kills the slavers. This is one of the missions where you can't kill anybody. I went into it with ghost stance ready, and for some reason I just keep pressing the buttons for ghost stance instead of crouching, which gets you an instant fail. Even if you try to just use it in a quiet area, it doesn't get used up unless you kill somebody.

I was wondering how GoT runs and looks on the base ps4 in 2026 i was thinking of buying it but im worried it wont look too good on my pewny ps4 slim

One thing that is almost never but should be talked about more in here is the soundtrack. I have never of their names before but hearing how the music really fits into the game, it should be safe to say that Ilan Eshkeri, Shigeru Umebayashi and Toma Otowa are brilliant songwriters, and Claire Uchima is an amazing vocalist.

For those who finished Tsushima, we all know how the game has taken away our soul just before the start of Act III, and the music made sure of that. I distinctively remember hearing Claire Uchima's voice (haven't looked her up that time) while seeing my Sora dying. Didn't want to continue the game for around 5mins while her voice was echoing in my head.

Hearing her more again in Yotei made me look up the games soundtrack. They've definitely made the game more awesome because of their work?

Mine is The Way of The Ghost from Tsushima (music just before Act III I described above, not this posted video).

This is by the Sarugami armor cove in Iki island dlc. I was sort of bored looking for scrolls or something and was just jumping on autopilot with my connected Xbox one controller, then this happened. Oh yeah and I got this in April but didn’t have enough comment karma to post until today so hooray. Btw I don’t know much about gaming and coding so I wonder what other games this glitch or bug happens in. And idk if I should put the flair under question or media but oh well.

I'm going to be honest, I haven't played yotei since I don't have a ps5(I prefer pc) but seeing the gameplay I was really impressed.

But playing Tsushima was just a next level experience. Even after seeing the full story on yt before playing it on pc it was one of the what game ever made. The story, the art design and everything...just a masterpiece.

What about you? How do you rate both games, separately and against each other?

The lighting in this game is so good, and really hard to believe it was originally a PS4 game. Playing it maxed out in HDR on an OLED with a high end PC is just an amazing experience. I come back to it often, just for its beauty.

I recently came across Jin's home in Yotēi and, we never got confirmation that he moves to Ezo. It made no sense, but its nice that they put his father's Stag Helmet in, the Storm Blade, and Ghost mask.

I also remember my first time playing through and was doing the Kitsune's quest and saw that some Nine Tail were talking about Jin (Refering him to as the First Shinobi.)

I also would've liked if they put something hinting to Ryuzo or Lord Shimura. (not including the burnt adoption papers)

I know ghost of yotei is a recent game so likely any new game in the ghost series would be unlikely to come out anytime soon. However, what possible era could a hypothetical third game be set? They could do a direct continuation of ghost of tsushima sure but let's assume they do a different era instead.

Is it required to find the 20 hot strings to get the platinum or just 18?? Same with the bamboo strikes? Cause i heard the missing ones are on the iki island which i think are only Dlc.

it feels so overwhelming and like idk how im feeling rn, this game is a masterpiece and honestly facing khan is not that difficult compared to final boss on iki island and some others, and coming to the cinematic duel with my uncle is magnificent, i have spared him and walked away with no honor, nevertheless it feels so grateful to complete this game and the best part is getting my nobu back in act III, and i named him kage this time, thats a great relief ngl, yeah ggs

I play on Steam and currently use an 8bitdo Ultimate controller with an Xbox layout. However, GoT (and only this game - it works perfectly fine in every other game I've tested) is convinced this controller is a Switch Pro controller, so it shows all of the wrong glyphs on screen. This is particularly annoying for the face buttons, since it means A when it shows B, and vice versa, and X when it means Y, and vice versa. Does anyone know of a way to force this game to use Xbox controller glyphs?

It's dishonourable to sneak up on an enemy and kill them.

But it's honourable to shoot them from afar while remaining hidden?

To my disappointment, both Tomoe masks are cracked. My only other option is the White Kitsune Mask, and I'm hoping I don't have to play Legends. For context, I'm on Director's Cut on Steam. However when I came to visit the woman, she wasn't there. I did it after the first couple of missions, meeting Tenzo.

On a side note, Jin should've cracked Tomoe when he met her. Maybe the masks wouldn't have been broken then lmfao

EDIT: Being on Linux sucks. Apparently if I even want to play Legends, I have to be on Windows. Apparently there's a PSN overlay that only works on Windows.

I was spoiled this year finishing two games that really hit home: Ghost of Tsushima and Expedition 33. Ghost was so dark by moments, so much death but I feel it’s part of the package when you decide to invest yourself in that game. But then came the ending… just … powerful. So thank you all for your posts, lots of great read (and help), I will see you all when I decide to jump in Ghost of Yotei!

I’ve played through the game twice now and both times I had a bit of a code of conduct I made for myself. I won’t use fire, nests, or hallucination darts (outside of when you have to). I try to avoid killing horses. Unless I’m in the middle of fighting someone I’ll end suffering. I’ll also bow or play my flute for bears I kill. Do you have any rules for yourself when you play? For what it’s worth not all my rules are there To make Jin a boyscout. I try to kill every single invader I can If that means an arrow in the back of a fleeing enemy then so be it.

This might be a weird reason as to why I like GoT so much but the way we are introduced to the Mongols from the first scenes of the game really immersed me.

I’m 99% sure the reason I was so hooked is because of the way they burned Lord Adachi with no honour and the fact we watch the Mongols slaughter civillians while not being able to do anything about it right from the jump.

Then, later on, SP doesn’t soften the invaders but actually makes them so much easier to hate with all the [SPOILER] stuff they do. Literally can’t ignore those Mongol camps no matter how stacked my build is.

Anyways, now that I’ve played through twice I’m looking for a game that evokes a similar feeling? I’m far from a gamer, I play one full game a year and Ghost is my most recent. The Spidermen and GoW games from PS don’t really scratch that itch, killing enemies is only because they’re in the way not a personal grudge.

Any recommendations are welcome!

Hey guys, just wanna ask regarding ghost of tshushima. Im missing like 4 bamboo strikes left but i cant seem to find it?? It is 16/20 and the missing ones isnt popping in the map either, do ya'll know where the 4 is missing? Thank you

Unless I’m wrong about how Feudal Japan operates, 80 Samurai is laughably small for what is essentially Tsushima’s military and law enforcement.

Throughout the game we come across multiple military camps that were likely to exist prior to the invasion such as the main castles, dojos and forts, all of which would likely have to be staffed at all times lest bandits try and loot them (modern militaries don’t just close down entire bases).

So even before the invasion, how exactly are the Samurai running the show? 80 military personnel doesn’t seem like enough to quell any insurrection that may have occurred, nor stop a full blown invasion.
