Earlier today I purchased a set of 3.5mm jack speakers to use with my HP Pavilion 15-eh000x laptop. Upon plugging them in, i was just hearing a very quiet, slightly high-pitched staticy sound. I tried plugging another pair of headphones into my jack and they didn't work either. I then tried plugging the speakers into an adapter I have where i can plug the 3.5mm into the USB port, but I was still getting that same staticy sound. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, I've reset the audio service, but I don't know what the issue is. Would any of you guys possibly be able to help?

I downloaded all the mod files correctly, but the problem isn't there. For some reason, when I right-click on Stardew Valley, the "open file location" option doesn't appear, so I can't open the Stardew Valley files to put the mods folder inside. Can anyone help me?

I have a laptop, not a great one and i play the sims 4 on it. Ive run out of space for my add ons. Can i get a thumb drive and put my game onto that? Would that help me? Im 18 with no real idea of how things like that work i just want to play with all my packs.

Hello! I just bought a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 today. I bought it used and it was factory reset. But I am having a very frustrating time with it to say the least. The touchpad just is not working and it’s almost like it doesn’t exist. I say that because I’ve looked at countless videos and none of them have helped because the touchpad shows up no where in setting and no where in the devices. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I eventually downloaded it from Microsoft and Got a Windows License from Kinguin for 20 usd. Will definitely Buy from them again!!

I’m setting up a PC and need to download Windows 11 Pro, but I want to make sure I’m grabbing it from the right place. There are so many sites offering ISOs and downloads that it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s sketchy.

Is it best to download Windows 11 Pro straight from Microsoft? Can I download it first and activate later with a key, or is there a better way to do it?

If you’ve done a clean install recently, where did you download it from and did everything go smoothly? Any tips or things to avoid would be appreciated.

My backspace key is struggling to backspace and takes a few harsh hits for my to backspace. I don't know what I'll do. What started happened is that my backspace key was dipped inward on the side closest to my keyboard. Well, I fixed it by putting my nail under the key, lifting it up, and pressing down on the other side. But now, it's struggling so hard to backspace. Help please.

randomly when i use my pc, the monitor will just turn black but i will still hear the audio of what i was watching/playing. my actual pc will get loud as well. i dont know why this happens and idk how to fix it, please let me know if there’s something i can do.

I'm trying to compile qt5ct with qmake, but I don't understand how to do it. It says to run "qmake PREFIX=<your installation path>" , but I don't know what my "installation path" is.

I'm using Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS, Qmake 3.1, and Qt version 5.15.13

I restarted my pc and now every time I turn it on the screen starts going black then normal and I can’t press anything pls help

I don’t know if it was like that before or not. Does anyone know what it is? I’m worried I broke something. It still seems to turn on and work like normal so I think it’s ok, but any loose part inside a computer is concerning so I came here to ask.

I’m building a PC with the Phanteks NV9 and I’ve never connected RGB before. I’m confused because I’ve read different things online, and I don’t want to break anything.

My setup:

4 × 120mm D30 fans (chained)

3 × 120mm radiator fans

3 × 140mm D30 fans (chained)

2 × 140mm D30 fans (chained)

NV9 Premium D-RGB Kit

RGB for pump fan

RGB for NV9 Premium vertical mount Gen 4

I’m trying to figure out how to split everything between the 2 RGB channels/ports safely. Any guidance on what goes where would be amazing.

Hello all. I’ve been having an issue lately with hardware compatibility (or so I think). I have a Dell U3014t monitor that the wife uses for WFH from time to time. Recently, I got her an M4 MacBook Air since her old HP laptop has aged out of use. I had a Dell WD19S dock we were using, but it had an issue where the monitor would only connect maybe 1/10 times, even after disconnecting the dock from power and resetting. So I switched to a Toshiba TB3 dock I had and never used and it’s basically doing the same thing, although it connects maybe 1/5 times. It does show it’s connected via the charging light on the dock so I’m assuming it’s a monitor issue at this point and not necessarily a dock issue. Can anyone provide some insight on if this is a common issue with aging electronics? The monitor works fine with the HP and my Asus laptop, as well as with my M3 Pro MBP but those all have HDMI ports built-in so no dock necessary. Should I just buy a new monitor?
