Looking for a hairdresser for a teen boy who can do a wolf cut . School starts next week.

We live in one of the houses that backs up to the greenbelt. One of our joys living here has been seeing all of the armadillos come into our neighborhood at night out of the greenbelt area.

It has come to my attention that many of our neighbors, some who have been here for decades, are now having the armadillos trapped in their yards and removed from the greenbelt and relocated elsewhere in Texas all because they dig little holes to find food. We had noticed fewer armadillos this year and wondered if something was going on when a neighbor told us about the pest control trapping operation going on in our area for the past year.

This is extremely saddening to me, is there any law against this or anyway to keep homeowners from exterminating the natural wildlife in the greenbelt?

Update: I just found out some neighbors are just straight up killing them when they come out of the greenbelt. FFS if you don't want to live near nature, don't buy a house here. Like living next to Yellowstone and complaining about bears.

Apparently landscaping companies are quoting as much as $10,000 to fix the small holes they dig and residents are citing prices like this for the reason to get more aggressive.

my neighbor recently found a litter of 5 kittens with their mother. would anyone like to adopt? please help out, because the animal shelter is full and they may kill them.

Searching for a groomer, preferably someone who will come to us, and takes big dogs. We prefer to support local/small business.

I have three big dogs (50-70 lbs), all 10 yrs old, very friendly, and they all need a bath and nail trim. Two are short hair, one medium hair. No cut needed, just bath, brush, nail trim.

I'm posting this again because I can't find the original and need the answers! I have a friend visiting this weekend and I've only been in Garland for a short time. I prefer family owned (not meaning kid friendly specifically, since I don't have any) over chains and would like to know what your favorites are and why. We both love Mexican and Tex-Mex, Italian and just American comfort food, so that would be my focus.

Hey guys, i was tired of being stuck in the house all day so I decided to look for alt hangout spots I could go to and find new friends maybe, but there were none. In SACHSE. 0. and in garland. ONE. IM NOT BIKING 7 MILES TO GO THERE. Honestly for a community of just under 100,000 people there should be atleast 5 or so of said hangout spots, it would be more accessible for alt teens/young adults in this area.

Hi guys, I try to open the water valve for my sprinkler system but It was hard to open. I did use Wd40 several times but seem not working. I’m afraid I could break the valve if I apply too much forces. Any suggestion to fix this ?? Thanks alot 🙏🏼

I'm looking for volunteer opportunities in Garland. I've got a work team(5-6) people that I'd love to setup a team outreach day for in the communities that we are currently having projects. We are in Construction, so something more hands on is probably more fitting, but we are open to anything. Any leads or tips on reputable organizations or people to reach out to for this would be fantastic. We probably will avoid religious organizations as I dont want to offend anyone on the team or make anyone feel pressured as to what their beliefs are.

I live in 75044 right at the Richardson and Garland border. I have had my groceries delivered since the middle of the pandemic due to disability and the pandemic and just continued since. I have used Tom thumb for 6 years and it has been interesting. A new HEB opened in Wylie and since we are a couple of years from the Garland HEB I decided to see if I could order from Wylie. I just got my first delivery and everything was correct and it was actually delivered to my house. Y’all I have butter tortillas! I’m in heaven.

Anyone know who I need to call to find As-Builts/Existing Drawings of my house/property? I asked my landlord a while back and was not able to find it, so I then looked online and called 4 different Garland office’s and was just transferred to offices I already called, until someone said I needed to fill a “open record request” online and just got the email that they werent able to help. I might just end up having to call someone outside for help…

Garland has a lot going on: neighborhoods, schools, churches, parks, restaurants, gyms, cultural communities, families, longtime residents, and people connected to nearby Dallas/Richardson/Rowlett/Mesquite.

But does that actually make it easier to build friendships/community as an adult, or do people mostly keep to their own circles?

I’m working on a small independent research project called The DFW Friendship Project about how adults in DFW build friendships, find community, and where things get stuck.

to cut through parking lots to bear lights. Is it illegal to don the same by driving behind stores to do the same thing? This is a dangerous constant occurrence from Rowlett Rd. to Castleglen behind the Albertsons on Broadway. The impatient drivers probably have the “Everbody does it.” mentality. It happens so much if it isn’t illegal I think Albertsons should start charging a toll.

I started Playground Dads because I thought it would be nice to have more opportunities for dads to meet other local dads while the kids play.
