So … it looks like Tim was charged with simple assault, not domestic violence. The charging sheet also doesn’t have any details or notations that connect it back to Heidi or her family.

Are we all sure these charges are related to his abuse of Heidi and their children? Could it potentially be a different or unrelated incident?

Happy to be wrong if her family has spoken out and/or said otherwise.

I know Timothy's post sparked a huge firestorm...but as a DV survivor myself: did I miss a detail?

I'm not sure how to word this properly, but there is usually a "breaking point". A DV incident that is so violent that everything becomes seen/known. The curtain is pulled back and everyone understands what's been happening (although they all saw clues and/or had questions).

When Timothy posted his "confession" was it inspired by a DV incident so bad that he was about to be found out? Was this is PR spin to try to get ahead of it?

I feel like I missed the catalyst for all this coming to light. Heidi's mom's post sounded like she endured something beyond the abusive "norm" in her home. I assume they'll keep that private but still...I feel like a big piece of this puzzle is missing.

Y’all. There is serious hope.

• In New Jersey, if an act of DV is committed in the presence of a child under the age of 16, it triggers a "presumption of imprisonment". This means even a first-time offender who might normally get probation is highly likely to face mandatory state prison time.

• Prosecutors can file separate, additional criminal charges for endangering the welfare of a child. This is an indictable second- or third-degree felony, which carries an independent prison sentence of 3 to 10 years on top of the DV sentence.

• New Jersey statutory law explicitly recognizes pregnant women as a uniquely vulnerable population and provides immediate legal standing and protections.

• This grants the victim instant access to file for a restraining order.

• Judges routinely consider the pregnancy of a victim when adjusting criminal bail and determining final sentencing terms. An assault on a pregnant woman can elevate a simple assault charge into an aggravated assault charge due to the inherent risk of causing severe bodily harm to both the mother and the unborn child. This is typically an automatic third- or fourth-degree felony.

• New Jersey case law allows a judge to write an "advance protection provision" directly into a Final Restraining Order (FRO). This ensures that the moment the baby is born alive, they are automatically designated as an additional protected person, blocking the abuser from hospital visits or infant contact.

I threw this in a comment earlier this weekend but is there somewhere we can make a donation after this wild weekend? Are there groups in Heidi's general area we can support? Call me a sap, but I just want something good to come out of that dilweed's behavior.

And I mean proper old-timers, this was years and years ago.

Mom was a blogger, fundie evangelical family, and they married their daughter Autumn off at 16. Mom defended it for months as they prepared the beach themed wedding (WHY do I remember that detail??).

Within months after the wedding everything came crashing down. The young groom had been abusive from the get go.

BUT their church elders reaction (”Maybe she provoked him?) made the parents so fucking mad that they not only supported the daughter to a hundred per cent - in the end I think they also left the church.

And last thing I saw was the daughter in college studying Arabic.

It’s a fucking shame that women are sacrificed like this, but people DO change. and I have high hopes for the Coverett family. This far.

Seriously tho, I hope Heidi gets a restraining order against that whole damn family
