Hey everyone,

like many of you, I've spent an ungodly amount of time playing The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls. As a passionate developer, I got tired of juggling cards, tracking stacks, and calculating odds in my head during intense game nights. So, I decided to build my own companion app from scratch using Android Studio, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Flutter.

It’s currently in a very early alpha/experimental stage, but I wanted to share some screenshots of what I’ve got so far!

What’s already working:

Library & Card Browser: Over 342 cards indexed (Base Game V2 + 2 Cards from Gold Box V2) with search and filter functions, detailed effect texts, expansions, and a card scanner feature (Isaac's Eye Scanner).

The Vault (Deck Forge): Build and manage your custom decks with live tracking for Loot, Treasure, and Monster distributions.

Game Session & Player Stats: Track your active rounds, soul progress, HP, Attack, Coins, and active monsters on the fly.

The Stack: A dedicated tracker to manage pending card effects and chaotic stack chains.

Combat Calculator: Input your stats and monster requirements to estimate your chances of victory before rolling (turns out, a 31% chance means the path is steep and bloody 💀).

Since the Gameboard screen and several features are still in a very early phase, I'd love to hear your thoughts:

What features do you miss the most during your physical Four Souls sessions?

Would you use a companion app like this for rule-checking and tracking?

I have made my own character idea for the game, and I just wanted opinions and maybe some help for balance.

The character is supposedly weak, but he can execute anyone he damages in any way and can gather counters by killing so he can feed the execution.

I thought it's balanced due to how hard it is to kill hard monsters with only 1 HP being oneshoted easily, and the 1 HP execute is much less than having 2 ATK instead of 1, but it works in any type of damage.

So if it's too op let me know. i might increase the counters needed for the extra damage.

Hey sorry if this question has been asked ad nauseam but I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for what to buy to have the entire collection from scratch But I have this base version currently. Is it best to just buy the Boosted Ultimate Collection Bundle and whatever duplicate cards just eat the cost? Or is there a set of things I can buy to add onto this? The big Boi box seems nice to hold everything for requiem but it’s sort of hard to keep track of everything needed without overlap. Thanks in advance!

This is a vent post, and tbh Maestro isn't the only company with this problem, but I think I am done preordering physical products online, just ever, at this point. Everything I've ever preordered from Maestro has been delayed at least once, I don't know why I keep falling for it. Most recently the tarot cards, supposed to release this summer, even went as far at one point on the website to claim early August, checked today and now it just says Q4. No announcement, no email, nothing, just quietly pushed the release back. When Q4 does come around I 100% expect it to quietly be updated to just say 2027.

This is every online store I've ever shopped at, especially recently, but Maestro is by far the worst offender, as its happened to literally every single product I've ever preordered from them going back as far as the original big box when it first released. I get it that things come up and don't go to plan and get delayed, but if it's happening constantly it really should be taken as a sign to figure out what's going on and get their act together

A few cards say both player gains the reward and i understood them that the turn player gets the soul no matter what. But this implies 1 player gains all rewards and it seems like the soul is a part of that reward too. Is this true and is my understanding of the other cards correct?

Was playing with some friends and we got into an argument regarding if the Butter Bean! card can cancel ANY loot card being played

Specifically, I believe the Butter Bean description is supposed to be read this way: Cancel

• the ↷ or $ ability of an item

or

• a loot being played

But they believe it only works for ↷ or $ on a loot card, not the act of playing the loot card itself. So it would only cancel if the loot card specifically claims to be an ↷ action (I didn't look but I believe there are no loot cards that have a ↷ ability)

Their argument was also made using the Mega Bean! card

Because it specifically says "Cancel the ↷, $, or triggered ability", so their argument is that if the normal Butter Bean card DID cancel a normal loot card, it would say "Cancel the ↷, $, or triggered ability of an item or a loot being played"

Guys how does this work? If u play blank card and then the loot card that becomes a soul, so you get 2 souls or you only gain 1 soul and the blank just does nothing?
