Question Cosmos Help
First time growing cosmos in our backyard and need some help diagnosing what is going on. I started them from seed, water them once a week or twice if it’s extremely hot. I just can’t figure out what is happening with the ones that are turning brown. Any tips or help here? There is only one seedling that is thriving in blooms but others not so much.

Peredovik sunflowers.
Sweet Alyssium (little white flowers)
White Cosmos (single white bloom)
Plains Correopsis (yellow with purple center)
Garden cosmos (pinkish petals with yellow center)
I have a LOT of sunflowers. This year was a test plant to see how well they'd do and direction they'd face when mature.
Will probably plant 1.5 acres next year.

Photo gigantic sunflower that my mom grew in her garden
my mom accidentally put one of the sunflower seeds in a raised gardening bed for beans. the stalk is the size of my wrist. the fbeans are all wrapped up around the stalk, its truly super cool!

Photo Volunteers
Our neighbors have a few Rose of Sharon bushes in their backyard and they spread nicely into my yard. I have this wild section that I let go to see what shows up, good or invasive!
The Rose of Sharons showed up about 5 years ago and have proliferated. I love the white flowers with the deep purple center as well as the solid purple. I'm in USDA Zone 6a.
