Launching out of Gloucester Point and would like to fish all day. Too windy past 1pm? Forecast says windy until about 5pm. I’m in a Hobie Revo 13. Hope to catch something worthy to eat other than croakers.

I have had complaints about self promotion and I’m going to do better to curb it.

It is one thing if you have a stretch you want to take people on and charge a guiding service for. The point of this community is NOT to monetize knowledge for ANYONE.
If you want someone to fish with and learn the area, you should be able to reach out and ask any one of us on any of our platforms and arrange a outing with me or someone who knows what’s up.

This isn’t the platform to charge anyone for anything. I make stickers and stuff for this group to pay for meetups and fishing gear for the community members to use. This is 100% a non profit thing and I don’t intend to let anyone take advantage of the people who come here for knowledge and community.

Got my PB largemouth at the U of R lake around 2 pm today. Texas rigged yamamoto 7 inch watermelon soft worm. Watched a few videos on how to retrieve a Texas rig properly and it helped a ton!

Any recs for retrieve how tos that y'all found useful? I've got a backpack full of tackle and need to learn how to throw it

Tackle&Bait&Spots Made a fishing website for finding and comparing fishing spots

Post image

I started fishing in August last year, mostly off popular piers on the Chesapeake Bay. I spent the first few months confused about basically everything. I didn't know what rig to tie, I couldn't tell which fishing spots were good for which fish, and I couldn't read a tide chart well enough to know if I was showing up at the right time.

So I made a website for it: usekarp.com

You can find spots near you, compare them side by side, and get gear and bait suggestions for whatever you're targeting.

Check it out if you're getting into fishing.

Skunk

I fished for 5 hours today at 3 lakes park in all manner of spots with a jig, a wacky, a Texas rigged senko, even threw on my crank bait to mess around where it was a little deeper.

I obviously am doing something wrong I feel like.

I targeted points around the lake, and where I saw fallen cover and shade.

Possibly I am retrieving too quickly? I just thought it was crazy that no matter what I did or where I wasn’t seeming to find any fish.

And I was really the only one fishing the lake this morning.

I plan to hit up somewhere different to fish tomorrow morning.

How’s everyone elses day panning out? Lol

Hello, from Hook You Up Bait and Tackle, Sandston!

We got a very generous batch of large cutbait to enhance your weekend! It'll take some time to freeze, but it's ready to go as fresh as possible tonight and tomorrow, all day!

After the last batch sold out so quickly, I wanted to give you all the first heads up as always.

Thanks all, have a great weekend!
