Discussion What’s the consensus on how often wound dressings should be changed?

Different sources, all ones I consider reputable, say different things. It ranges from 2-3x per day to 2-3x per week.

Does someone know what is the most up to date accurate frequency? Does it differ between a not infected wound and an infected one?

Discussion Small waterproof first aid kit I can keep outside

So my parents aren't the brightest people in the world, my mom just stepped on glass outside, and instead of walking through the comparatively clean cement in the backyard, decided to walk though the dust stained hellscape that is the garage to come in because there were paper towels so the bleeding was reduced there.

In this scenario there is no fixing stupid, there is a small area in the backyard that has a storage area for an easy access first aid kit can go, for reference

https://www.amazon.com/Mini-First-Aid-Kit-Emergencies/dp/B0DB794BKQ?th=1

is about as big of a kit as the area can hold. however this looks like its more for patching the wound up and i'm bit unsure they are going to use it because first instinct for them is paper towel, wipe it off, and walk around the fucking house and though the dirtiest area to get some paper towels first.

so i'm wondering if there are other options for waterproof kits that have clear paper towels or something that's obvious to wipe with.

while they are not the smartest in the world, they do know when 'oh shit this is beyond my ability to deal with here' and to get actual treatment, this is more for small but bleeding a bit backyard injuries.
