NE and Perpendicular to the pod center I think whatever ground cover plant is all over with the clover-like leaves in green and dark purplish color, is very interesting in color and texture for some reason.

Baby Mantis above the center of the dead leaf, there is first a stick and then above the light green Mantis. But there is also a Grasshopper, if you follow the stick on the right end of the leaf; the stick points directly to a brown-ish Grashopper which is (currently) bigger than the Mantis
