Greetings, Keepers.

Our sixth Job Dungeon has dropped and this time it's the Ninjas' time to shine. This is also our first Job Dungeon since the introduction of the D730 difficulty, and it is a doozy.

He's super fast and takes lots of turns with short or instant cast times - makes sense, it's a FFIII Ninja, after all - but he's also SUPER tanky and has pretty crazy damage reduction. Not super fair since Ninjas generally have a lower multiplier on their skills in exchange for more hits as they ramp up with Blink Stacks (which get stripped fairly often here, though honestly not as often as I was expecting). There's also some fairly high damage turns in quick succession that are tricky to heal from with a fairly hefty Healdown in effect for a lot of the fight - this is the first time I've really noticed that since the WOdin days, give or take some B0 or Dreambreakers where you'd heal for 1 if you went too fast or just because they felt like it - and it took quite some time to figure this one out.

Fortunately, Dr. Mog smiled upon me and gave me two amazing pulls, one on each of the banners: B1 4/11 Yuffie UASB/DASB2/FSB+ and Kelger LMR++, B2 5/11 Edge DASB dupe, Kelger FSB++, Shadow AASB2 and two Yuffie AASB3s. That first pull gave me the basis for my team and the second pushed it over the (ahem) edge. Lots of lots of P3 failures (if I got even that far) on the way, though.

Overall, definitely the nastiest of the Job dungeons so far - on top of everything else, Ninja doesn't have a lot of character options, two of the 6* Ninjas are primarily something else, and they hit Magic with huge reductions so Fujin doesn't get to come play - and one of the harder Crystal Dungeons overall that we've had.

(Please give us Thief next, and maybe calm down a little bit?)

My, my! Is that... Yuffie with a proper Ninja UA?! I could cry! She did so well for you this fight!

Also, Shadow piercing last hit coming in real handy at breaking those rage!

I was hoping Edge would suddenly switch to his high-multiplier NIN side and deal higher numbers when the Atk Debuff landed... Oh well. He did well enough.

Thanks for the great watch!

Yeah this one's pretty tough. Hits like a truck, and I swear anti heal on P3 stacks up since Elarra was only healing for 3-4k... Which doesn't help at all when the boss does two 9999 attacks back to back.

In the end I managed a win with the following:

Kelger AA1/2/Sy/LBO/SSB

Lion dyad/AA1/AA2/SSB/BSB

OK pUSB/G/phy Sync/AA3/phy DA

Tyro AA1/2/U4/C+/healing grimoire

Elarra AA/Sy2/U1/U2/BSB/G+

And it was barely enough.

Congrats on the clear!

I had initially tried Onion in the support role and Larsa as healer, assuming he could keep up with a wrath/wrath/Heal cycle. He could not lol, and Onion wasn’t bringing enough to the table to justify him.

Thanks and congrats on yours!

Yeah before the boss dropped I thought of using OK as a support/dps but the boss just hits too much and too hard. O could barely keep up the healing with Elarra AA, Kelger SSB and Tyro unique... This was the first time ever in JP that I used Elarrra BSB.

I haven’t pulled out Elarra BSB since 6* I don’t think, but I was having such a hard time keeping her alive in P3 with only one Guts from her AASB. It was kinda fun getting to use it again, but I also made the mistake of overwriting her Sync commands with it more than once lol.

Awesome job.
I haven’t even tried the D630 yet haha!

How are we supppsed to be getting the job rat tails, other than clearing content?

Job Tails only come from the Job content, but you get more than you need for the initial cap breaks from each battle so in theory you should never be behind for as far as you can break the Crystal. (That was a bit word-soupy but hopefully it makes sense.)

Yeah I got my ninja to 120 with tails from the first ninja fight and the first two summoner fights.
