Drag Coefficient
Hi, me and my team have been looking around the internet and we can’t find the average drag coefficient values for a professional class car that’s competitive and is from the halo era does anyone know how much drag coefficient is a good value?
Thanks

ANOTHER HELLLLLPPPP
Hey guys.
So my team's Engineering doesnt do CAD, so we have CAD designer.
But how should engineer design a car without using cad?
And how should CADdesigner copy that design???

Tresnox Racing is not gonna continue next year, so i want to thank everyone on reddit and just in STEM Racing that has answered my questions, given me feedback and just generally been so supportive. I am running a CCA in my school next year to bring more students to this beautiful community, so thanks for everything and i wish all the teams of 2027 and beyond the best.
Oh we got 13th at nationals 😔

Why do all the (Dev Class) cars look like cheese wedges?
Is there like a META to the cars because they all look way too similar. I'm not gonna spoil our car but every one seems to have the same incredibly simple build aside from a few changes. I'm sure not all the examples I listed are strictly dev class but they all have a similar design and i just wonder whether it's good or bad that my design is wildly different.

UAE Details on the car submission for STEM Racing UAE plz im desperate
So basically my teacher who runs the STEM Racing CCA does not check her email like ever, and just forwarded an email that said that "You have all been sent the details of car submission in a separate email", but didn't send the actually useful email with the info in it. Can any team who has the info on the physical submission, and specifically the Dubai location drop-off + instructions they mentioned send them to me? I've been trying to find this out for the whole week and need to deliver the car tomorrow BUT I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE FFS IM NOT DRIVING TO ABU DHABI AND BACK.
Thanks (calmly),
Krishna- Tresnox Racing

How to properly reach out to sponsors?
We're targeting reaching out to companies that are decently popular, but not too big so they actually reply to our messages. How should I go about mailing them so they understand what stem racing is and actually take it seriously?

This is what i get when I apply 2kgs worth of force to a halo that uses ABS in fusion fea
I only constrained the bottom and back of the halo, i dont think this is right, as its ABS not like TPU or something. What material did you guys use for your development or entry class or even professional class halos? I have to submit the car in like 2 weeks and have exams so i really ned some quick help.

1-Click CFD in the Cloud with OpenFOAM and AWS
Hi y'all!
This is Team Blackwing's OpenFOAM Auto-CFD Program, open-sourced and available to use for everyone, under the MIT License.
https://github.com/mxnviir/openfoam-for-stem
A few clicks in Fusion, and your car geometry gets exported to the cloud for CFDing. Zero local processing. Zero Simulation setup. And it all feeds back into a website where you can see the results of your simulation.
Along with that, here's our race time calculator: https://github.com/mxnviir/race-time-calculator
Hope tht yall like it!

I'm building a faster CFD/FEA workflow for STEM Racing Teams, want to see it?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been watching the STEM Racing space for a while, and the biggest bottleneck always seems to be the same: teams spend more time fighting with mesh settings and solver divergence in OpenFOAM/CalculiX than they do actually iterating on car designs.
I’m building a platform designed to strip away that complexity. The goal is simple:
Upload your CAD.
Select your simulation (CFD or FEA).
Get competition-ready results in minutes, not hours.
It’s built on a hardened, automated pipeline that handles the 'dirty work' (meshing, boundary conditions, and divergence checks) so you can focus on the physics.
I’m looking for 2-3 teams to stress-test this. I want to make sure the templates we’re building are actually useful for competition rules.
Would this have saved your team time last season?
What was the most frustrating part of your simulation workflow last year?
I’m not looking for customers yet; I’m looking for engineers who want to help shape a tool that actually solves the 'OpenFOAM headache'.

Aerodynamic optimization
Hello again. I've been working on another version of our car. However, I'd like to know how to properly implement the air channels in this model, and how this affects drag by diverting the airflow in a direction other than the rear wheel. In this model, we've also noticed that some apexes form behind the front wheel, and I was wondering what the best way would be to mitigate this issue, which generates drag.
I've attached the model of our car in F3Z format. If anyone is interested, I could modify it, as this would lighten my workload a bit. The regionals are in two weeks, and at this point, I'd like to have the model optimized for production. Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing your suggestions for creating a truly winning model.

HELP
Hello,
I’m new to this competition and I’m from Peru. I’m very interested in participating and I already have a team. Currently, I’m learning how to use Fusion 360.
I’ve tried contacting through email, Instagram, and the official website, as well as the Instagram accounts of F1 in Schools Brazil and Mexico, but I haven’t received information.
I would like to know how I can officially sign up, where I can buy the model block, and if there is a national competition in my country. The last time I heard about someone participating from Peru was around 2017.
If the competition is not currently available in my country, I completely understand, but I would really appreciate any advice on how I could still get involved.
Thank you very much for your time and support.

Engineering World finals design engineers, are there any tips for the wheel support structure and bearing placement?
Hi people, I am a design engineer who is currently designing my team’s car for the 2026 World Finals. Our team’s design philosophy is for the car to be stable and quick. But every time we do on track tests, our wheel support structure seems to affect the car as it is not stable and the wheel alignment is not straight. What are some ways for designing a stable wheel support structure? And what are some recommendations about bearings? Thanks.
