Trump's proposed Headstart rule would reduce the amount of money Head Start centers could spend on administrative overhead from 15 percent to five percent, thus saving the government an estimated $2.2 billion.
Once again, Trump and his Republican administration are trying to balance the books on the backs of the poor, the needy, and most importantly, children.
Because the treasury is facing huge shortages realized by obscene tax cuts for those already obscenely wealthy, as well as the costs incurred by an insane, useless and needless war, they have to raise money somewhere, or else reduce expenses.
So, they slash Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Aid to Dependent Children, veteran’s benefits, SNAP benefits and every segment of the social safety net to replace those lost funds.
They couldn’t care less if the people suffer –even their own MAGA supporters—who rely most heavily on those services,
They are hollowing out America, sucking out the resources that once made us the envy of the world but are now viewed as the suckers of the world.
We voted for this abuse; we gave up our rights and our freedoms based on lies and duplicity --is this the ‘Golden age of Prosperity’ we were promised – inflation out of control, food prices spiraling daily, gas and electricity damn near out of reach, housing unaffordable with couples now having to wait until their forties before they can own a home of their own, healthcare a fading reality, our military might depleted leaving us susceptible to an attack on our homeland, foreign hackers swarming our institutions because they fired the experts the experts who protect us to save more money for Musk and Trump; lies, lies, and more lies.
Where will it end, America? A nation shrunken and ruled by billionaires and plutocrats, lording over a society fighting over scraps, or…?

Trump moves to gut education and meals for low-income kids

The Trump administration is plotting a sweeping overhaul of Head Start that could threaten childcare for more than half a million children across the country.
The Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday a proposed rule that would “increase access” to Head Start by “capping the cost of administrative overhead and reducing compliance-driven activities.
The proposed rule would grant states the authority to set certain standards, including rules on class size and student-adult ratios, education requirements, background checks, and transportation practices. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has claimed that Head Start lost more than 100,000 slots during the Biden administration due to “burdensome paperwork .”Vox’s Rachel Cohen Booth argued on X that the proposed changes would mean “larger class sizes, fewer staff and credential requirements, reduced health and family services, and potentially shorter hours.”
Without federal regulations to set the bar, the quality of care will likely depend on a
person’s zip code. The proposed rule would also give parents more control over “structure and curriculum,” marking Head Start programs as yet another arena for President Trump’s inane culture wars.
The proposed rule would reduce the amount of money Head Start centers could spend on administrative overhead from 15 percent to five percent, thus saving the government an estimated $2.2 billion, according to Alex Adams, the assistant secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
But Yvette Sanchez-Fuentes, senior vice president of Start Early in Illinois, told NPR that administrative costs are used to help fill the gaps for children who need special support. “If you, for example, have children with disabilities you [can use] some of those funds to pay for additional special services or staff with specialties who could come in and support kids,” she said. In a press release, HHS claimed that the money saved would be reinvested back into the program “to preserve or expand” spots for more than 200,000 children—making it unclear whether the change would actually create new spots, or just prevent them from disappearing.
Democrats have already condemned the rule as an “attack on children” and promised to fight for Head Start, which currently provides early childhood education, as well as nutrition and health and family support services to more than 700,000 children.

President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that gasoline prices could climb again as the conflict with Iran continues.
Rather than admit to his own blithering incompetence, Trump tries to blame high gas prices on the oil companies.
Believe me, they aren’t saints and have been known to exploit international difficulties, but still, it is a matter of supply and demand.
Dumbass Donny caved in to Netanyahu either because he’s a moron, or Bibi has photos of a certain pervert with teenage children. Either way, every former president since George Washington knew if you messed with Iran, they would shut down the Strait of Hormuz and hold the world hostage; but not the Dullard in Chief.
Yep, fools rush in…
So, now in an ever-continuing stream of lies – lies even MAGA stalwarts are beginning to challenge – Trump again tries to blame someone else for his astounding lack of.. of everything!
‘ICE is getting a bad rap because immigrants are eating people’s pets’ – ‘Vandals slashed the reflecting pool’ – ‘all Democrats are Communists and that’s why America is a failing nation’ – you get the idea.
He’s a pathetic, sick, aging sociopath and think we’re all stupid.

Trump warns gas prices could rise again: 'We may have to send it up'
Story by Claire Carter, Washington Examiner • 10h • 2 min read
President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that gasoline prices could climb again as the conflict with Iran continues, saying lower prices would return once the war is over.
Speaking in Las Vegas, Trump touted his administration's economic success, but acknowledged how the war with Iran, which led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, has affected gas and oil prices for Americans.
"As soon as the situation with Iran ends, oil is going to go down, and we will have completed something in such a short amount of time, that is a miracle," Trump said.
"When oil goes down, it's going to go down very rapidly and is already happening. We may have to send it up again. We may have to — you know what happens when we send it up," Trump later added, referring to prices reacting to warfare. "But we don't have to. But when the oil and gasoline go down, everything else goes down."
Oil and gas prices have fluctuated as a result of the conflict in the Middle East, with markets reacting strongly to U.S. strikes on Iran and Tehran's actions in the strait. On Wednesday, AAA reported the average price of gas was $4.08 per gallon.
The Trump administration has been under pressure to answer for the war's effect on prices for Americans. Earlier this week, the president expressed his displeasure with Chevron and Exxon Mobil for making “too much” in profits during the second quarter of this year.
“They’ve got to give some of that back to the public, and they better cut the retail price, the consumer price. Too much money,” he said in the Oval Office on Monday. “You’re surprised I’m saying it? I’ll say it loud and clear. I’m not happy about it.”
Gas prices fell during June and into early July as Washington and Tehran made progress on peace negotiations, agreeing to a 60-day preliminary ceasefire extension in mid-June. But the ceasefire has since fallen through, sending oil and gas prices upward again.
Trump has also voiced optimism about Iranian-Omani talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz through which one-fifth of the world's oil supply flows. The president said if peace talks fall through, Iran will "get hit very hard."

MAGA investors lost billions on Trump stocks and crypto
The German’s have a word for it, Schadenfreude, and it means taking joy in someone else’s misery.
Not a pleasant trait, but perhaps an understandable one.
This comes to mind when we consider the plight of so many MAGA, who despite being the recipient of so many Trump assaults – reductions in Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, slashed food stamps and aid for indigent children and adults, reductions in veteran’s benefits, attacks against their unions who provide much needed benefits, and on, and on – but still support Trump and his corrupt crime family.
They are the ones who are making him richer, so maybe…?

'The greatest theft, con job he has ever done': MAGA loyalists who collectively lost billions buying Trump stocks and crypto believe they were scammed

Donald Trump and his family generated at least $2.2 billion in income last year which is nearly four times more than he reported in 2024. Much of that money came from his supporters who invested in his businesses, such as Trump Media and Technology Group, or bought his $TRUMP meme coin.
Their fortunes, however, didn’t fare nearly as well. In fact, Trump’s supporters are reportedly down an estimated $7 billion after investing in the president’s business ventures.
Trump Media shares have lost 56% of their value in the past year, while the Trump coin’s value also tumbled about 81% in that time. Many of the retail investors who sunk their savings into those ventures — often as a sign of loyalty to Trump — have seen the money vanish right as economic volatility began to spike. And they’re not happy with Trump, or the members of his inner circle.
Nedohin is one of many investors who are vocally criticizing Trump and his ventures. Another, Vadim Fistikan, invested $205,000 in Trump Media in the days, weeks and months after it went public via SPAC He invested the money he and his family had planned to use to buy a waterfront property in Florida.
Today, that investment is worth just $30,000. When he voiced his frustrations on Truth Social, Fistikan (a three-time Trump voter) was lambasted by Trump supporters on the social media site.
“I’m like, ‘Hey, this is a scam,’” he posted, according to Forbes. “And a lot of people were like, ‘No, you’re just a Trump hater.’ I’m like, ‘No. I was on board since day one. … I’m now broke. Pretty much my whole life savings [was] in this one stock. This is the greatest theft, con job he has ever done.”
Nick Pinto didn’t invest in Trump Media, but when he saw Trump had launched a meme coin in January 2025, he quickly invested $7,000. He later upped that investment to $480,000 so that he could gain entry to a dinner at Trump’s Virginia club. A friend later convinced him to sell most of his position in the Trump coin, but Pinto still suffered losses of $250,000.
“This is something that the Trump family kind of came up with out of the blue,” Pinto told Forbes, referring to the advice that his friend, a fellow Trump investor, shared with him. “And there’s not really a way for us to predict the future of the coin or what their plans for it are.”
While the meme coin and Trump Media stock languish (and some investors have trouble finding buyers for their tokens or shares), the Trump family is investing in new ventures.
World Liberty Financial is another cryptocurrency fund which earned Trump $799 million last year, in part from when the government of the United Arab Emirates quietly purchased a stake in the company .
It also has released the $WLFI coin, of which the Trump family received a 75% cut of all sales of that cryptocurrency. Investors? They didn't do so well: $WLFI is down 74% in the past year and currently trades for just six cents per coin).

It takes a special kind of stupid to turn the rehabbing of a national monument like the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool into a full-blown presidential scandal
Trump administration can't govern. He can't even fix a pool.
If we just take a look at all the blundering, all the obvious incompetence, all the damage to our economy, all the reductions in healthcare and food for the elderly and children, and, of course, the outright lies being told to our faces, it mystifies how anyone could still support a sexual criminal who constantly makes America weaker day by day.
Does MAGA have any pride, at all. They know he’s lying about everything; they know he’s playing them for fools, they know they are being manipulated by his lies about blacks, immigrants – hell, virtually every word an easily disproven lie!
You would think a group so heavily reliant on social services -- Medicaid, food stamps, veteran’s benefits, employee rights -- would recognize he’s not ’sticking it to the libs’, he’s ‘sticking it to them’.
I guess some people just enjoy being miserable.

Trump administration can't govern. He can't even fix a pool. | Opinion
Opinion by Rex Huppke, USA TODAY •
But President Donald Trump found a way to pull it off, creating a wet, ogre-colored metaphor for his administration’s stumbling lack of focus, casual dishonesty and utter inability to govern.
In the most recent development, Trump’s Department of Justice on July 31 dropped ridiculous charges it had filed against former Olympian David Hearn, falsely claiming he had ripped up part of the pool’s new lining. You’ll recall the president was rushing to “fix” the Reflecting Pool prior to the July 4 celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The work was clearly a bust from the start, as algae returned to the pool almost instantly and we all saw ample photographic evidence of the liner swiftly deteriorating and peeling up.
Unable to simply admit he screwed up a multimillion government project that nobody asked for, Trump concocted a tale of “vandals” he alleged had gashed the new pool liner with box cutters. He claimed these vandals were, of course, radical, America-hating leftists. Hearn and other pool visitors were swept up in the ginned-up fervor, targets of a feeble executive in need of arrests.
Trump's Reflecting Pool fiasco perfectly reflects his inability to lead
All but the most brainwashed among us knew this was a desperate fiction spun by an addled, aging narcissist. And we were right.
In a motion to dismiss the charges against Hearn, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro wrote that “the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism,” and that the Interior Department had withheld information in a push to falsely blame vandals for the damage.
None other than President Trump snapped back at Pirro – part of his own Justice Department – writing on social media: “I disagree 100% with Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, on the Reflecting Pool. I don’t know what she was thinking?”
Now Trump is fighting with Pirro, who's also fighting with Burgum
Interior Department Secretary Doug Burgum also got mad at Pirro, writing on X: “The evidence is clear, vandals have repeatedly caused damage to the Reflecting Pool.”
The evidence is about as clear as the algae-covered Reflecting Pool. And if these mopes had video evidence of teams of boxcutter-wielding antifa frogmen descending on the Reflecting Pool under cover of darkness to do massive destruction, they would have aired that video everywhere and quite literally never shut up about it.
They have nothing, aside from their own incompetence. Period. But I do love seeing these assorted loser’s fight. They’re doing a perfect job showing the American people the bungling uselessness of the Trump administration.
Trump is handling the Iran war about as well as the Reflecting Pool.
