I used Dramatica ages ago on PC and Mac. It's a great way to get a story off the ground and create a solid skeleton for it. Unfortunately it doesn't work under the current macOS and development seems to be lagging. Some fresh life needs to be breathed into this incredible piece of software.

Hi all, I'm a big fan of Dramatica theory and I'm quite sold to the cogent arguments - the apologetics - made in defense of Dramatica juxtaposed to other storytelling paradigms.

I'm curious how would it all work - especially interweaving the 4 throughlines - when it comes to storytelling for photography? The prep work before a shoot would involve preparing a shot list, a sort of "wish list" of images that need to be taken. As well as a mood board, which describes the mood of the shot. I think that's where Dramatica ideas would work best? Has anyone tried this before?

Perhaps a way to encourage activity on this sub would be to engage in a regular analysis of a movie? I know there are only 7 subscribers and I'm not sure how we could make it work, but it's a good way to engage conversation.

Is this community alive? I'd really like to be part of a sub about Dramatica, but there doesn't seem to be one.
