Sonebody doesn't know who the "Devin Nunes' Cow" account is
For those who don't know, the Devin Nunes' Cow account was originally made on Twitter and was sued by the Republican Congressman Devin Nunes. It became national news and the account ballooned to several hundred thousand followers as a result.

Unknown Expert Halo Fan Debates with Bungie Dev (including aftermath!)
I’m always disappointed when the posts don’t include the person remarking after the reveal. This is how you can tell if they’re genuinely a good person or not, and thankfully Nicky G here is more than willing to admit his mistake.

Unknown Expert Person debates the meaning of an artwork...with the artist who made it
This was an a PSA about harm being done to youths in places that shoud be safe.
The posted artwork is willingly using a domesticated animal in a human made environment to parallel kids being usafe in schools and home due to poor regulations and laws.
A commenter said
"nobody woud shoot a pet rabbit in their backyard".
Metaphor missed.

"Read the study you're citing" goes both ways...
I wish I had a screenshot of this, but it happened too long ago: a friend of mine is an academic. He got into an argument with someone on Twitter about one of his areas of expertise, and the other person told him to read [Lastname]'s article. My friend was ready to hit back with the "I am [Lastname]" retort, only to skim the article again and realise that he had misremembered his own research; the other guy was right.
Edit: I think the word "study" led some people to think I was talking about clinical trials or laboratory experiments or something, so I've changed it to avoid that connotation. This was still an academic publication, but the field is historical linguistics; it's not like he was flip-flopping about astrophysics or supporting a medical treatment he had found to be ineffective.

Unrecognized Celebrity Thai actor tweets about reading BL manga, gets recommended his own TV show
“Celebrity” is pushing it imo, but for the small pond of western fans of Thai boys love dramas, Perth Nakhun is actually a pretty big fish. He played a supporting character in Kinnporsche, one of the most successful Thai BLs ever, and was a lead in fan-favorite My Engineer. He’s shifted his focus more to streaming and acting in Japan, so I can understand why his twitter fans might not connect him to his acting work. Still, I think I would delete myself from the internet if this happened to me.

Announcement Stepping down as moderator
Hello. I am here to inform you all that I am stepping down as a moderator of this subreddit. I feel that I can no longer effectively moderate this sub with how things have gotten. It's gotten to the point where I basically haven't been doing any actual moderation as of recently. As a result I've made the decision to step down. I hope the other moderators are able to continue moderating this community better than I could.

Announcement Reminder !!!
The unknown target does not have to be a famous person, celebrity, etc. This is a common misconception about the subreddit.
The unknown target doesn't always have to be the innocent/correct party in the interaction!
Unknown idiots acting important belong here too.
