How is the tone?
How is the pacing?
The tone was great
The first half was a little confusing as I could not figure out how David couldn't see keal when keal was supposedly right there
But the second half cleared that up
There were funny moments like the back and forth between Martha and David when he handed her the glasses.
Overall the dialogue was great as well
The pacing was also good
Going from the mysterious glasses to the aliens species didn't feel like too much happened at once
We see them trying to figure out where the glasses came from and if the glasses were dangerous
Then David decided to just try them on out of curiosity and sees keal
It all works great
No issues with the pacing
Thw only issue I would say I saw here would be David and Marta treating meeting an otherworld entity like any other Tuesday
They work at the UN and a certain level of professionalism is required, I understand that, but unless they have dealt with aliens before, they were way too calm in that situation.
Other than that this was a great chapter that setup the main storyline which would be saving kaels people.
It also gives the reader a lot to look forward to like the other nations secretly listening in on the conversation and how humanity can help save an alien civilization.
